Love the look of it and the test you did on both the 310 and GK350. Both bikes I fancied taking a closer look at. Went into my local dealer who has held the franchise for 5 years but doesn't keep any bikes in stock, order only and I'd have to pay a non returnable deposit. He rang the importers whilst I was there who said I could have either model within a week as they were in stock however, they admitted the photos on their website were out of date and not current. So, the dealer wanted me to put my money into a bike I couldn't see in the flesh and at least sit on and get a feel for it let alone have a road test, and an importer that can't put up to date photos of their products on their website. They maybe a very nice bike but with that kind of service and back up I won't be putting my hard earned money into their product or the dealers pocket. Very disappointing.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't see or sit on one Jonathan....yes that's a pain when dealers don't have them physically in stock

Fantastic review as always. A nice touch that you don't see often. Infact hardly at all is the front fork protectors. All manufacturers should do this. Makes the life of the front forks and seals last so much longer from dirt and salt.

Hi Mark, I like your ride reviews a lot. Concise and informative. Keep them coming.
Just two small feedbacks to make your reviews standout even more.
1.) Do a standing roll out without any throttle inputs to see if the bike is able to get going without stalling. Most Suzuki bikes have this anti-stall features.
2.) Can you do a high gear start on your future bike reviews? Like say a 3rd gear standing start. I know that a lot of big bikes such as the Suzuki GSX S1000 can roll out easily from 5th gear without any issues. It would be nice to see how tractable and refined different engines are from each the other.

I am truly amazed that a C.V.T. drive can be quite efficient, considering that it relies heavily on friction to convey traction. I don't know when this was invented, but it was a real event in the realm of automatic scooters, in my view. They must be quite costly to build. How long do they last before needing to be replaced?

8:45, the electric screen, the screen on the 125 is not the same as the 310, the 310 has a bigger screen, the local Zontes dealer thinks the 310 screen will fit the 125. the dealer did not have a price for a screen as a spare part

Great review Mark!. Well, it's £1500 cheaper than the Honda Forza 125 which is heavier by a long way and is arguably less appealing. The PCX is cheaper but not by much. This is the first twist and go scooter that realistically challenges Honda in the rider comfort and practicality stakes. Even better value is the 310cc version of this scooter which is miles better value than a Honda Forza equivalent so the remaining question is dealership support and long term reliability.

Mark you say the Zontes is good for 100mpg, the Honda Forza is good for 120 mpg ( your Forza test) I think the difference in mpg is a signal of how better Honda are over Zontes as engine makers, Honda know how to make low-friction engines and how to design cylinders valves and combustion chambers to extract more energy from the fuel. Recall the Honda Insight hybrid car sold from 2000 - 06, the Insight was a showpiece for Honda R&D, the cars were good for 100 to 110 mpg, one did Lands End to John o Groats at 103 mpg

      4 liters per 100, is a lot of consumption for a 125🤦🏻‍♂️

Is this the bandaid for not being able to find a dealership in North America that stocks the Yamaha XMAX? I can instead track down a small shop that specializes in Chinese bikes and then buy a weaker Great Value knockoff of it. It could pass as an XMAX from 20 feet away. (checks internet.... not available in the US). And their site says this is the 310m scooter... not a 125. ??

@@gerryattrickbiker Thank you. I am going off of their main web page. The only show non-scooters in the 125 range. But maybe they need to update it.

Clearly the Zontes 125 / 310 are clones of the Honda Forza, clones with a major saving in purchase price over Honda. The Zontes 310 is priced below the Honda Forza 125 with room to spare.
The Zontes is impressive, I've looked over them at a dealer, the visual quality is there, the doubt in my mind is how many miles will the Zontes last? I cannot afford to buy cheap things, I have to buy things which last and do not need repairs. I'm waiting for a 10,000 mile report on the Zontes, what will break or wear, 10,000 miles on a Honda , the bike is good for many more

Zontes is a horrific brand, I had a GK350 for 2 weeks after ten days it simply turn off by itself when I was stopped at a light. It happened once, then it started happening almost every time I stopped at a light, so I sold it, no brand wanted it and the bike was 2 weeks old and had 299 Km on it. I finally found a Honda dealer that said "The only reason I'll accept it is because it still has a two year warranty on it and most people buy with their eyes and not their head". It was an enormous relief, and I got a Honda CB650R. I've had quite a few bikes in the last 30 years and all I can say is this: If you can only afford Chinese brands than don't waste your money, either that or get a smaller Yamaha or Honda like a 125.
