Lovely! I appreciate your mixing heirlooms with thoughtfully collected decor over time. Some influencers tend to treat Christmas decor like fast fashion, and the waste is astounding.
I used to go crazy decorating the condo for Christmas…it looked like the season vomited all over my living room 😂😂😂 Now I am more minimal and understated with my decor. The Christmas tree is the main show then more simple everywhere else ❤️❤️❤️

When I was a younger mom with small children I was a typical, tacky, American…..lots of Santa Claus, lots of red as well as other bright primary colors. I may possibly have gone a little over the top in my holiday decorations…😁😁. But now I lean in much the same direction as you. The tree is small now…not 8 ft tall…and sits on top of a round, vintage table. I prefer more green colors, white/ ivory, natural elements like straw ornaments, pine cones, many, many candles, fake greenery garlands. More of just a winter look as opposed to a “Santa is coming look.” I will leave most of it up through January and into February.
I love so much the table runner you bought. It’s just perfect. I still have some linen table runners I purchased in Sweden and some square table toppers with fairly typical Swedish Jul/Xmas graphics. I purchased a new Julbok this yr to guard the tree and my old tomten helps.
Christmas is so much fun with little ones. I know y’all will make some fantastic, sweet memories.

This year I cut a bunch of old wallpaper samples into strips and made pretty paper chains. So Christmassy and inexpensive. ✨🎄✨

Yes, we did it too when we were kids 😄🎄
I'm going to miss your vlogmas this year I love watching your little adventures to look at decorations around town and out in the country. 18 months ago my mother passed away and she had ornaments and decor, some from years ago, that she loved putting up every year. She was always very flashy with it. When she moved in with us as she got older she brought her decor with. My husband and I didn't really have anything because we were always busy, working or traveling and didn't really celebrate the traditional way. The first Christmas after she died I had gotten rid of most of her decor but I did set up a tiny tree, all flashy, in her honour. The main tree I decided to create homemade decorations and will probably keep adjusting this until I'm happy or just to keep my creativity going as I age. Things and people change over their lifetime and it's just fine. Merry Christmas
