I think using a sponge is the worst way to use this foundation. I prefer using my fingers or the real technique expert face brush with water base foundations. I actually think your skin looked really healthy with this foundation and not as heavy.
Yeah, I liked it with just one layer. It evened out her skin tone and would look good for going to the gym or just running quick errands, where you didn't want to put on a ton of product. She could still achieve that without having to shell out $43 though, but luckily they were sent for PR lol.
I know makeup is everyone's personal preferences and choices but imo, the first layer of the foundation was very flattering. It evened out the redness but didn't look too OTT or cakey. I really liked it! Maybe someday you'll love your skin and won't be drawn to full coverage foundation. But, like I said, whatever makes you happy. Just wanted you to know that you look great both with and without. :)
I would love to see you review the Smashbox Studio Skin foundation. I tried it out about a year and a half ago and fell in love with it except the lightest shade was way too dark for me. So I was excited to find out that they released lighter shades.
This is definitely more of a pro product. The face and body formulas whether they're Mac or mufe are generally made for dry skin and using a sponge to apply it is not a good idea. To build coverage with products like these you work them into the skin, the film screen that makes it water proof sets and the formula thickens..thus building coverage. It's an awesome product but yeah it's for sure designed more of makeup artists. I did see you like to mix foundations and these formulas work reaaaally well for that. Like if you mix a couple drops of this into a fuller coverage formula you get the water resistant properties + it tends to look less mask like. Pin point concealing might be great for you too rather then using a full coverage all over. That way you're concealing your problem areas but keeping that part of your face that's clear show through. Just a suggestion :3
You should continue the #15DaysOf______________. Maybe different primers using the same foundation each time? Or different setting sprays? Mascara? I don't know but I love the series!

This actually seems like a great foundation for me. I work in a kitchen and think that since this held up on you pretty well throughout the day, it hopefully would work last decently well during my work days. My skin has also been looking better than usual and I've been more into lighter coverage foundations as a result. Thanks for the video!

I voted for the smashbox foundation =\ I own the old lightest shade and I never want to pick it up and use it from my vanity because it's too dark, but it wears really pretty and has good coverage! Great video!!

I got mine today and I tried it out and i love it. i have normal to oily skin and i use a primer with it and it goes on smooth. but i dont have problem skin. I think this foundation will be great for the summer heat.
When MUFE finally puts up an ingredient list for this you might want to check it out because there could be weird stuff in there that's preventing the foundation from really being hydrating. But for what it's worth Taylor, I think your skin looked super great with this amount of coverage. From a distance it doesn't look cakey at all and I feel like your natural skin was given a boost. But I definitely understand wanting full coverage. I've suffered from moderate acne for years and only recently it's starting to clear up. I used to never want to leave the house with anything less than total coverage.
Emilynoel was talking about this foundation in her video today about high end products she loves and hates. She said she was disappointed in this foundation. I linked your video and talked about your 15 days of foundation series and your channel and how you do awesome tutorials and reviews for people with acne and problematic skin. You should try the Kat Von D foundation in a darker color, I have both the two lightest shades and the lightest one is hard to blend and cakey but the second to lightest is really great!

I totally respect wanting to wear full coverage, but seeing someone who also had red, problemed skin wear lighter foundations is very helpful too. Sometimes I like wearing lighter foundation just to take off the edge, make my skin look less angry with something I can throw on. My 5 minute makeup is a tinted moisturizer, little concealer under my eyes, mascara, brows and inner corner highlight. Doesn't cover my problems but makes me look brighter

you need to get a silisponge for some of your foundations you try I think it will help with the applications then you can go back in with a beauty blender or brush
I think that you are supposed to shake the bottle before applying it onto your face. The consistency of the foundation will be way more liquidy than what you got when you pumped straightly from the bottle. Other than that, it is a great video. I think you look way more prettier when you have no foundation on. I personally do not like to apply any foundation onto my face if my skin is not happy at the moment. But it is purely my thought, you can do whatever you like to do.

That's one of my top 5 foundations. Love that it has SPF, looks good in pictures, good price at around $13, and is medium to full coverage. If it's cakey every time you wear it, may I suggest putting a bit more moisturizer on, be careful with how much powder you put on, and use a setting spray? Let me know if any of that helps you XO

Same thing!!! I like how sheer it was since I don't have that much going on with my face BUT I do have some dry patches and when I saw how it clung to some places on her face I was like " NO THANK YOU!!!" This is so NOT worth the $40+ that it is asking for a "water based" foundation!

I do use the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea for when I don't need a ton of coverage! I also use a cushion foundation from L'oreal! I've been able to get away with the lighter coverage and have been liking the tarte rainforest of the sea water foundation but it's too yellow.

Please try the new hourglass blanc vanishing foundation stick. They gave a bunch away for you tubers maybe you can see if the would give you the three light shades to help people like us. It's supposed to be super full coverage like Marc Jacobs

Same thing!!! I like how sheer it was since I don't have that much going on with my face BUT I do have some dry patches and when I saw how it clung to some places on her face I was like " NO THANK YOU!!!" This is so NOT worth the $40+ that it is asking for a "water based" foundation!

This was very helpful. I wanted this foundation but even though I don't have acne, I like full coverage and this isn't what I'm looking for.
I have normal, sometimes dry skin with some redness! I also get pimples periodically! I use medium coverage foundations typically! I do use the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea for when I don't need a ton of coverage! I also use a cushion foundation from L'oreal! I'm always looking for new foundations to try, so maybe I'll research this one! Thanks for the review! #baerittofam🌯
