    The mayor and town officials are at fault. All these people shouldn't be homeless over needed repairs. They shouldn't have condemned the building. They should have only condemned the unlivable units and then found temporary housing for them until the work was finished under threat of jail if the owner doesn't do it in like two weeks. They don't know how to run the city. They just blame the owners who only just bought the property a couple of years ago. These repairs were needed for a LONG TIME.

      Uhm, no, this has been a scam. They have not been taking care of buildings and they keep charing higher rent. People can't afford to move out, and the town officials are all paid off by these corporate slum lords. This has been the scam.

      @@ElevatedEssentials201 Yes I agree. The starting rent for this unlivable dump was $1,500. That means they were getting well over $63,000 a month with forty-two units. They can pay for taxes, repairs, etc. They just want to get rich and destroy the poor.

      This is the result of disgusting greedy real estate industry people pocketing rent payments for the past year knowing damn well that major repairs needed to be done, so that they can not only force these people out to sell the property to a company that will gentrify the area into a predominantly white, high priced area, but so that he could also collect their monthly rent during that year long wait.

    They will probably sell the building and because there is no one living there and there is so much wrong with the building they will get permits to tare it down and build condos or expensive apts. The nee owners will be under no obligation to move the old tenants back in and they will rent tge apts at alot higher rent

    If communities form groups they can go around identifying health and building codes violations at these places. That’ll go a long way to put the kibosh on any plans to pump your neighborhoods full of illegal migrants. Keep a lawyer or two on retainer to help push through the complaints
    Ideally you want to make it as unprofitable a proposition for slumlords as possible

    • @ThePoliticalBulldog
      @ThePoliticalBulldog Год назад +1

      Except that's not what happened here. Afaik the narrative is thus: 1 year ago: City acted on numerous complaints, issued fines. Company ignored fines. City notified company it would tear down building. Company did not tell anyone living in building about that. The city also failed to notify anyone LIVING THERE that fines had been ignored and demolition would happen in 2023. Company continued to sign leases, move in tenants. Then, after paying their rent diligently, residents were given 3 days notice to gtfo with anything they could carry and everything else they owned would be demolished with no compensation.
      So who you SHOULD be hunting is scumbag rich people and their slimebag companies lying to and stealing from those brown people you hate so much and tricking them into signing leases on properties that have been condemned knowing that they will be too poor to hire a lawyer to sue the slumlord.
      You are almost there being mad at the slumlords. But you just hate brown people sooo much that you still want to make it their fault even when they were the people being exploited.
      Fool.

      The owners aren’t going to fix anything, and that’s very deliberate.
