I think you should try an Island-themed Rags to Riches, where you can only fish, look in the cave, and collect things from the beach. See how long you could survive, "shipwrecked" on a 'deserted island'. Potentially make your sim a Mermaid for added challenges. I would love to watch that video!!

I did my own runaway teen challenge and I lived in oasis springs (y'know, no winter to worry about) and I was neigbors with Johnny Zest. He seemed to really look after my teen, helped her with homework, came almost daily to just chat and once when my teen sim was struggling cause we had no food left, Johnny brought her a whole cheese pizza! I was so touched and I've really liked Johnny since then 😭

The richest sims that suddenly want to slum it with the peasants every time you go to dumpster dive at a community lot is probably the one thing I hate about Eco Lifestyle and why I don't visit those as much. It's such a hassle.

so easy! I did that with one of my sims none of them had a job and I just got their children fat but making them eat and then get money for each dish by putting it in the trash. Itd be worth 60$ or 40$ each one. They were rich rich

I once did a rags to riches but started out with a family and it was actually VERY hard. It was two parents, twin toddlers, and a child. Everyone was miserable because we couldn’t afford a tub to bathe the toddlers, and it was hard to get the child to do his homework. BUT it was also a really fun new challenge!
IT LITERALLY TOOK A MINUTE TO BE THE BEST FRIEND AND A HUSBAND FOR THAT GUY LOOOOOL (14:30-15:30)

Fun tip for anyone wanting to try this: when you get furniture from the dumpster, obviously you can repair the plumbing items & appliances, but everything else is a toss up whether it'll be broken and unusable. And yeah, you could recycle it and get into fabricating, but if you don't want to, this is the tip for you: if you sell it from your household inventory without trying to place it to see if it's broken or not, the game will treat it as not broken and pay the full value for it. Moneyyyy $$$$$$$
What if you did rags to riches with eight sims, so they can suffer more.
Would that maybe go faster, if they're all working to get money at the same time? Or did you mean, still only one person does anything for income and the others just sit around?

I tried this and my sim died of embarrassment. It was my first accidental death.
In my experience, toilets and counters are the hardest thing to get from the dumpsters.
Also, the Freegan trait massively affects what you get from the dumpster. Much better loot for Freegans.
I just started a knitting Rags to Riches and lemme tell you, my Sim survived off free chips for so long...even when she complained about only eating quick meals because we couldn’t afford a fridge AND a stove

I just realized why I like to watch Lilsimsies videos. She has a questioning personality like my mom, and my mom playing the sims is hilarious. Hey Kayla, if your game is getting laggy and slow, try pressing esc and stay on that menu for a few second. I noticed it since the Nov update that breaks everything, it can drop to 10 FPS for no reason, but every time I pressed esc and just wait, it will be back to 60 or so FPS.
