Hey everyone welcome back to another video. Today were looking at the worlds smallest class a motorhome! This is the Thor access 24.1 now what makes this motorhome so unique is that it is actually half of a class C motorhome and half of a class a motorhome… The 24.1 is the smallest of the access France and the reason why it is the most popular because it has two single beds in the rear
I love the layout but I dislike the quality of the build. 1. I saw a missing screw (8:16) at the upper left corner of the passenger side table (This is from the passenger's perspective or lower left corner of the video) 2. The kitchen extender was already broken (10:51). 3. The shower wall area next to the bathroom sink(16:15) wasn't glued on properly and you can see that it is warped already. If quality control let this pass, what else could be wrong behind the walls?
We have friends searching for a short class A. They looked at little axis examples and were appalled at the poor build quality. Thor have to get a handle on quality. They are getting a reputation it will be hard to undo.
I don't get it, how does the industry allow this? If people saw this type of quality in automobiles they'd be upset yet in the RV industry its 'expected'? No thanks.
I've noticed this in the videos on the showers in more than one of their Thor videos. I want to love this motorhome, but the bathroom is a big thumbs down, and the quality is definitely lacking :(
I am in the market for my first RV and have been researching for about 3 months. I ruled out Thor immediately when I saw all the posts about their poor build quality. I think the damage to their rep has already been done.
I really love the Thor Axis series. They just need to figure out the Bath area a little bit.
To piggyback off your comment: I'd pay to get the whole bathroom converted over to a wet bath. The 24.1 is the model I'm looking at the most.
Agree. The bathroom is awful, but I like this floor plan better than the Vegas, even tho there’s a lot less storage. (Is there storage under the twin beds? If not, there should be.)
Really nice RV. I would put magnets on the bottom of the shower curtain and the bottom shower tray to keep the shower curtain from opening at the bottom.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the beds in the back. It's great to see 2 singles with the ability to make into one big bed. More manufactures should be doing this idea.

I love what the mighty Thor company does with what is a class C masquerading as a class A.
Not a bad thing, just the way it is.
It has a great layout, only they should make the bathroom a split type for a bigger shower and maybe some more pantry space.

Just to put this into perspective when this model came out it was $85,000 Canadian dollars at todays exchange = $66,000 U$. That was about 8 years ago when I test drove the exact same model. So the sticker price on this was $119,000 US or $152,000 CDN$. So when you think you’re getting a good deal on this really think hard 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ I talked with a gentleman that was fuelling this exact model but it was 5 years old. he said every cabinet door inside has fallen off, the exterior was completely faded and the front cover has to be repaired every year, the roof has been redone twice. He said he has had zero help from the manufacturer up in Canada. He desperately wants to sell it but not one bite after a year of trying to sell it. So in short avoid like the plague 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
The fact that you have carrying capacity, slides in at the beginning, thorough kitchen walk through, it seems no one else but you guys care about the little details. Youre so friggin amazing!
make it ultra lay flat theater seats / lose the over head bunk, you're not traveling with more than 3 ppl in this RV carve out the buck area and make it stooge to slip suitcases & linens storage

I have a 2017 24.1 and love it!
I really wish it was lifted a little more from the ground, it looks so low. Does it have problems in certain camping grounds?
I like this RV, very much! I'm thinking about buying one, near me.
I would have them make the driver seat taller.
I would have them add the sliding pantry drawer.
I would have them put in a rectangular kitchen sink. (I would get a bowl stuck in the round sink!)
And, I would talk to them about what can be done to make the shower, "user friendly"! Maybe, the whole bathroom.

Have a 24.3 with the murphy bed. Love the layout, bigger shower & bathroom, more kitchen counter space, a lot more storage on the inside. Replaced the shower curtain with a Nautilus door & add another maxair fan. Build quality so so, but I can fix the minor problems. My only dislike is it did not come with a outside ladder.

Thor knocked it out of the park with this one. I could see upgrading from my Class C for this. I will say that everyone needs to take a lesson from Class Bs and incorporate the sink and shower. But that is a general complaint. The layout is perfect.
I kind of like that motorhome!! I agree with you, matt and Andrea, i dont like the shower curtain, either! Love the split beds! I also agree with Andrea, there should be a pantry, even a small one.
Why can't they put on of those shower curtains on a track system in the bathroom? I mean it can't be that difficult. They also could have left out the sink , made the shower a little bigger. I know some people don't like brushing there teeth in the kitchen sink. But I could make an exception for a bigger shower.
Hi Matt and Andrea!Had to at least give a Thumbs up and to say that this is a great motorhome! Love the driver and passenger's seating area,space,and the color!It is a bit tight in the bathroom though, but still functional! Andrea said it best,this time with that ladder!🪜Take guys!🎺🎺🎺🎺!
My 3rd dislike is engine compartment access for maintenance, I agree about the bathroom since I do own a 2018 Vegas. This is a great MH for “2”, I’m working on improving the dinning room table the couches sit to low to eat from.
Looks like a pretty nice package and effective use of the space especially for a very short motorhome. The unit is very usable with the slide in, the split beds are good.
It would be an easy after purchase fix to add some shelves in the cabinet and create some type of pantry.
My only real complaint would be the bathroom, but the size limitations don't leave much room. An extra two feet would make this a real home run with a cabinet for food storage and a bigger bathroom.
It is also a good price after the discount.
Looks like a good couples motorhome for short and medium length trips.
I wish they would leave the sink out of the bathroom and just make the shower larger. I don’t think they’re really needed, especially in the smaller bathrooms/campers….or just put a very, very small sink in. I’ve seen smaller sinks in half baths in peoples homes. I REALLY like that they are starting to use the drop down bed above the cab like a lot of the European campers do!

This us a really nice Rv. My likes are the tv placement, the storage just needs a small pantry, and the bed. My dislikes the shower, no pantry, and that is all I can think of. Bathroom needs to be a bit bigger. For being small it’s a great Rv. Thank you Matt and Andrea!

I Highly recommend anyone wanting to buy one of these new thor Axis that think they look great to go look at one that is 4 or 5 years old. You will see the exterior will be faded, furniture peeling like crazy, counter tops will be warping, these are very low quality units and sad thing is after 4 or 5 years you will still owe close to what you spent on it new while its falling to pieces. Like another RUclipsr I watch says the biggest piece of crap ever made looks like a new diamond when they are new and he also says the true test of the quality of a new unit is to look at a used one a few years old.
Compared to how cramped most 24' class c interior are, this feels very spacious inside!

NICE layout really for a small RV and I agree that it is great except yes they should but in a better shower door..But I love the counter extension, and sofa with the TV. I would also agree make the closet a bit smaller and add a panty with pull outs. For a third, a 12 volt frig would be good instead of 120v as it is often more handy and can run off solar.
I really like the AXIS because the RV is usable with the slide in! I wish there was a U-shaped dinette instead of the sofa.
I would love this floorplan if it had a true queen bed, theater seating, a larger bathroom with a shower that wasn’t already coming apart at the seams and a countertop extension that wasn’t already falling off the cabinet, an attached ladder and decent cargo door latches😳Unfortunately, this is Thor quality control at it’s best👍so I’ll pass on this one😂😂😂

Would prefer a 12volt fridge . Shower is small but it's a small motorhome. The drivers area is very nice for size.👍
I like it! I can't decide about that bathroom. When it's all open, it's a good size. I wish they would have reconfigured it somehow to make that shower more comfortable. I'm curious how others would think about a large wet bath? get rid of the little shower, integrate the sink. Put a curtain around the front of that area. There would be plenty of elbow space, and space to stand when showering.
You missed my dislike. The refrigerator is inaccessible when the bathroom is opened. That could be an issue.
My favorite thing about this one has got to be the ability to have twin beds. That is so lacking! I will be looking for something with 2 beds, and not just someplace to park another person. I will be traveling with a friend, I like her well enough to spare her sleep on the pull out.
Thanks you two for your hardwork and dedication...flying is always an inconvenience and even more so recently so I speak for us all when I say we appreciate what you do...I just got back to LoL (are we neighbors?) myself from Indy via Houston...anyway...I was excited for your review as this looks like the one for us...love the drivability of this chassis (as a dirtbiker i'm familiar with vans)...plus the added bene of class-a-ish visibility and space make this short unit a possibility...favorite feature for me is the space provided having pedestal tables combined with the front dropdown overhead...can't wait to walk through as it looks like it feels big but drives small...this may be the one!!
Two rear beds in the rear? Wow, I thought they would be mid-ship 🤪Base on the price, this better than the Class B option. The CCC is a bit light, I see this as a solo traveler unit. Nice to see it is prebroken. 😝

It's bigger than the 'vanlife' style rv's. But not too big.
Prefer the no slide version. And could use slightly bigger bathroom with bigger shower.

This is the reason I like them they are the only one to show slides when close
looking at a Vienna but this video makes me interested in this unit. Bath is not that great but the rest is great at a great price.

RUclips glitched my comment LoL so here’s the short version and I hope the original shows up .:. the trash can was only 33 bucks on sale .:. liked the storage, king bed option, cockpit, and it’s boondock friendly .:. Disliked the awkward double door bathroom, not enough seats and eats space, 2 burner cooktop should be 3, and I hope 1 AC is enough .:. This one makes a class C buyer think .:. Like the smaller size, like the storage for the size, like the windows in the bedroom. Dont like accordian doors..ever! Dont like the shower. Dont like the microwave down low. Put it over the stove and put another drawer where the microwave is.
I like the layout but I don't care for the split bed. Where would my beagle sleep?? Great review hope you made your flight. Would be curious if it drives like a class C? We added heavier sway bars to our entegra and the safety T plus and now it drives great.

Can you upgrade the Tires? Do you have poles that pull out on the awning so you can stake into the grass? Where at in Albany, NY is this RV location? can you also have a oven put in and the Microwave can be put above the stove? also how much power can the solar power can you get if you work from home and have a all in one monitor computer. Do they've blackout curtains?
Only small dislike is the shower. They should have eliminated the bathroom sink and made the shower a bit larger. There really isn't a need for a bathroom sink just use the kitchen sink. Other than that I love this floorplan and overall size of this Motorhome. Hope you made your flight ✈️
I have a 2020 Vegas (same as the Axis). We love it; however, the shower is very small and the couch isn't very comfortable. I took out the couch and installed power recliners which are awesome. I also added a counter extension to the bathroom that is identical to the kitchen counter extension. Plenty of cabinet space above the couch to use as a pantry and the outdoor storage is better than most class C motorhomes in the 30-36 foot range.
I should also mention, Matt and Andrea really helped me determine what I wanted in a motorhome. Thanks!
My only real complaint is that when the bathroom is being used, the fridge is in the bathroom.🤷♂

Hey Guys, love this A. Am not a fan of A's but this is really just a B on ROIDS with a slide out! The twin beds in the rear are a winner as MLJShell so aptly put! The two things that I do not like on this are the Absorption Fridge......so 1970, and am not a fan of the bunk over the cab. Other than that, the price is Spectacular and if I was in the US of A.....I would purchase!
Great little RV, but you may be better off with the ACE 29G. It's not much longer at 30 feet, is 50 Amp, and has a king/queen bed with W/D prep.
Great use of space and love the extra sleeping areas.
Hello Matt and Andrea, It was nice to see you up in my neck of the woods. any time you're in New York and you need a place to stay look me up. Next, New York City accent does not reflect the rest of the state. Now to the RV, I love the Thor 24.1. My Only dislike about this unit is this tiny shower. I would rather not have a sink in the bathroom area and have the shower a little bit bigger, And I prefer the shower curtained not a door. I will be sharing this review with my husband hopefully Albany rv will be seeing us soon. I'd like to get the price down a little bit more. Any suggestions.
They should have put a fold down sink and and conserve that space.

Love the rear twin beds. That feature has risen to the top of our "must have" list.
Dislike the absorption refrigerator. They seem to be becoming dinosaurs with the improvements in 12V compressor refrigerators.
The bathroom is the only problematic issue.

Wish the shower was bigger but I'm a small guy so it's not a deal breaker. I'd put the TV on an arm if it's not already so both people on the sofa can see it clearly.
I like the streamlined look of this unit compared to the typical Class C RV.
I'd be curious to know what people think are the advantages and disadvantages of this style versus a traditional Class C.
While I like the look of this unit I wouldn't consider buying it because of the multiple glaring quality control issues that others have already pointed out. Who knows what other issues lurk in this RV but cannot be seen? I'm amazed that it passed quality control at the factory.
Damit ,if its not 24.1 ,the don't call it that ! 25.8 is 25.8 ! What's the story on these wrong lengths ?
I cannot believe how low the sale price is! The quality is low, the countertop extension screw already pulled out of the particle board cabinet, so what else is going come apart?
I love the bathroom doors! The shower would be better if it wasn't a curtain.
So, is it a class A or a class C? Can you drive it with a class C license? The CCC is way too low. Take that sink out and put a flip down sink in the bathroom so they can make the shower bigger.
Technically a class C. And you shouldn't need any special license for anything under 26K mgvwr. In fact when it comes to RVs, since you're not hauling passengers (other than a couple family or friends), I'm fairly certain you don't even need an air brake or passenger endorsement on your license to drive one of the real big class As. In my state, DE, you can hop behind the wheel of tag axle diesel pusher with the same license you drive a car.

At the cost of headrests in the driver/passenger seats, my personal preference is that I don't like the drop down bed over the cabin.
i love it. but for a family of 6........that CCC is not good. after water, full fuel tank, human weight, your about maxed out.
The 350 chassis just shouldnt be used in any motorhome
