I just made this wallet. The pattern and design is really cute. For anyone else trying this, a thinner yarn is definitely necessary. I used a thicker one, and the wallet definitely does not close neatly, like it does in the video. But it was surprisingly easy - definitely beginner friendly!
I just made this it is my third time I ever crochet something I think I will made another one for my auntie with a little roses on the top , thank you so much
Thank you for this video and pattern! So easy to follow along and make. I used 100% cotton. When I finished the center pocket stuck out a bit so I did two rows of single crochet around the entire outline of the pouch (not the center pocket). It’s perfect! Will be making more!
I used weight 3 lightweight yarn and size 3mm hook. Couldn't say how long it took but it was just a little while last night to do the bulk of it and the finishing touches just this evening in between other things i was doing. I really appreciated the measurements provided so you can use whatever yarn and needle you want. It is a bulky item, but it is nice.
@SharonLee2600 no not planning to make a Christmas tree but thank you for your reply. I will check out your other patterns. And sorry my previous comment was so full of typing errors. I fixed it.
Dear Ms. Lee, This was an amazingly simple yet beautiful pattern. I used a different coloured yarn for the flap and used both colours to make a strap and the outcome is stunning. Thank you! ( :
Thank you for the awesome tutorial! I love this design. It's too cute. I just finished one in white cotton yarn and it came out nice. I ended up tye dieing it and will gift it to my niece.
Hi Sharon, I love this little bag design. I've been wanting something similar but, in a bigger size and with more pockets for storing my fixed, circular knitting needles. The pockets would have to be about 8"-10" deep and 6" wide I think, just to accommodate the bulk of the bigger needle sizes. Something that size might make an interesting crossbody bag too, with the right strap. Any way, I thought I'd share my idea with the creator of the inspiration. I can see it in my mind but, bringing it to reality is where I'm stuck. Lol! Please, feel free to run with my suggested idea. And, I will try to figure out dementions and try to knit something eventually. Lol! I love your videos and designs. 💜✌️🧶
I did 34 rows and it turned out as 24cm not 15cm? I’m not sure what I did wrong and can 5he wallet still work with that height? Edit: also I just found out that the length is way over 30cm?
Washing these kinds of yarns is just the same with any yarns whether imported or not. I handwash it and never let it dry directly under the sun especially with crochet thread like Monaco or Cannon. The color would fade. I have made a few personal home decors-mostly table runners. The acrylic one which is Lanalon & indophil when washed.. it's easy to dry..but the the color slightly bleeds when washed. My Mom let it dry under the sun..but when I checked it the color is still hasn't faded. But the cotton ones like the Brands thay I have mentioned. They color fades when dried under the sun or if you placed the table runner on an outdoor table. If you plan to make for your outdoor table, I suggest for you to use white if you are using cotton. For acrylics like lanalon and indophil that are colored, it doesn't fade that fast or hasn't yet based on my experience.
I made this following your instructions and when it came to the center part, I saw no instructions on how to determine where to sew for the flaps. Do you count stitches from the end, or do you eyeball it and guess?
To make the flap, mark the 18th stitches from the left (if you are right handed) then work 17 SC stitches from there for a few more rows.. (this is the 17 SC which is the center of the two 17 SCs in between) To make it rounded, we decrease a stitch by not chaining 1 when we turn, skip first stitch which is where your loop on the hook is, then skip the 2nd to the last stitch. Repeat for 4 more times or until you get the size you want. We dont eyeball the center, we need the fold to have an equal parts to be able to make this fold after working in rows. Thats why we divide the total amount of stitches in a row by 3 so we have 17 SC. The last few rows would make the flap and then we sew both the edges a bit further away halfway through the 17 SC mark to make the 3 pockets.. they just need to be sewn straight. Thanks..
Me gustó mucho el monedero q hizo , pero las indicaciones están en letras blancas y se pierden en la pantalla. No podría cambiarlas a letras negras. Gracias
Hi so I'm making the project and i'm at the before sewing stage. I think my tension was bad so the project is curling up a little. Should I block the project? Or is the curling okay?
Yes.. you may need to block it. It depends on the yarn you used. Mine doesnt curl up. Or maybe the hook you used is a bit smaller than the recommended hook size.
I too having similar issue. The size of four corners have increased and I missed to notice that in beginning. The base which I have prepared for wallet is not in a rectangle shape. 15 cms sides are like hourglass. What would be your suggestion on this?
I think I have indicated the size of 10 chains.. if you are using thicker yarn.. just measure it up to the size of a card (length) then multiply by 3. I suggest you use a lightweight yarn so that the fold wont be bulky enough to fold.
Thank you for this lovely tutorial. I just finished making this cute wallet. I’m sorry, I don’t have Instagram to share the photo oh the completed project but, my family and friends love the way it turned out. It’s not as pretty as yours. I love your “ handmade” tag. Would you mind sharing where you purchased it?

Is this quick enough to easily make a bunch for gifts?
@@RameyRocks It took me just under an hour to make. With more practice it would be quicker. I think it would make a great gift though!

Yes it can but you will have a different size. I adjusted mine to fit an ATM.

Very beautiful and useful item.

Nice method
could anyone recommend what kind of thin yarn you use? i accidentally double strand thick yarns and it turns out too bulky😢
Use a fingering-weight yarn
You are so clever! I’m very impressed!❤️

Currently making it right now but I got tired so I'll finish it tomorrow 😭
Is aran weight too bulky for this or should I go for something thinner?
You can try it out for the firt few rows.. usually any fingering-weight yarn would be much better because it folds well.
Ficou otima, parabéns.
Thanks
Thsnks gor demo very intersting
Thanks
hi, did you need 25g of yarn in total? meaning the double strand is calculated into this as well or use 50g in total?
I found her comment saying around 50g. I thought 25 couldn’t be enough.
It depends on the yarn you use. Mine doesnt give info on the measurements of yarn in yards so I can only measure the amount of yarn in grams.
🥰😍💕💕💕👍👍👍 love your purse pattern very much ❤️❤️❤️
Hi!
No podría cambiarlas a letras negras. Gracias

Do i start on the 9th or 8th??
Divide the total number of rows by 3.. then divide the first half to make the fold.
Wonderful job

Hi!! I would like to know the centimeters??
I have a different yarn
I think I have indicated the size of 10 chains.. if you are using thicker yarn.. just measure it up to the size of a card (length) then multiply by 3. I suggest you use a lightweight yarn so that the fold wont be bulky enough to fold.
@@SharonLee2600 thank you so much 💜
Can I use #3 yarn with the 3.25 mm hook? Or do I need to use a larger hook if I do that?
If you want a texture that is densed and it doesnt have any gaps.. try a smaller hook.
love it... am gonna do this!
Thanks
Amo essa bolsinha
Thanks a lot.
Meraviglioso❤
Grazie 😘
When you fold it in half before you sew it together. Where did you put the stitch markers? Please let me know... I am just at that point...
It should be about 5 cm or half of the 10 cm.
I made this and thank you for great instructions 😍
It's my second time trying it and it still hasn't worked out. Tomorrow I will buy another type of yearning maybe it'll help. 😭💕

So beautiful! May I ask how many grams of yarn was use?
About more or less 50 grams.

Beautiful 😻
How many grams of yarn did you use for 1 wallet?
About 80 grams
hiii is indophil double pull okay with this??
It will make the yarn bulkier, it might not be easy to fold ..
After making the flap, by what count you are sewing it??
The length is 3 times 10 cm so if you divide the total amount of stitches in rows. The amount you get will be what we will plac ein the middle.
Can we reduce the length to 10 cm?
The length is about the size of the length of an atm card. You can absolutely adjust the size if you want bigger or smaller.
Love this ..Do you think it could be made with cotton yarn ?
Yes, you can use any fingering-weight yarn.
@@SharonLee2600 thanks so much .. Beautiful work
how do you add the button?
You can sew it on like usual.
