    Very much enjoyed my two races. Wasn't sure if my cars would be competitive but was pleasantly surprised.

    I noticed that in the seconded race the rear tires refused to get warmed up. But when you did a little power slide into first corner the rear left warmed up and thus increased the lap time a bit on the following corners. So when in the rain; On a corner that you can; Just slide a little bit to warm up the rear tires in hopes of warming the rear tires. Just a little helpful tip.

      Can you even power slide a FWD car? Probably get back on power more to correct a slide?
      But yeah I found in tuning cars for this event that even in the dry it can be difficult to get the rears up to temp on fwd cars. Even more so in the rain. Had to mess around with tire pressures and rear camber a lot to get the rears warmed up. Then things can get a bit wonky

      If there is a chance to change the tune before a wet race, you can adjust the anti-roll bars to be more stuff at the rear and soft at the front to mostly account for the lack of temperature in the back

      I agree. With a car like he had, giving a few elbows to the face could get him a couple places or more each race.

    I honestly am thinking of just playing on Xbox these days. I just need an upgrade from my 1070, but it's just way too expensive. Obviously my 1070 preforms remarkably well for such an old card, but you know, it's starting to show cracks.

    Fantastic racing but I couldn't stop noticing that the wing mirrors reflect the ground on the opposite side of the car. Really noticeable near the rumble strips

    Just wondering, is there a way to create a competitive challenge where you have to choose one of the big brand names?
    Eg: The Nissan Skyline, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX7, Honda NSX, Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Evo?
    They can be any version, as long as they fit into those brands.

    My high grip builds have not led to good results lately. My veloster was also quick, but once I’m stuck in traffic it’s over. Just need to get better at being quick in close quarters and more aggressive without crashing people out. Guess that means more practice in open lobbies for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    Edit: Alex seems very good at finding the limit of his car in a race. I need to get gud

    The weakness of your strategy to always run handling cars over fast cars is that it forces you to make your passes in the corners (often bottlenecked). This constantly leaves you frustrated with the "I have the grip and speed. I just can't find a way around them" situation you constantly find yourself in. If you ran a higher speed (less handling) car, you could pass on straights (which are far easier and have better odds of working.

    • @jonathanlonsdale3404
      @jonathanlonsdale3404 9 месяцев назад +1

      If he ran higher speed and less handling he would have the same problem, slow in the corners like the high-speed cars then fighting on the straights?

    • @Fangless397
      @Fangless397 9 месяцев назад +2

      This is one of the fundamental choices I find in racing do you choose to be faster on the straights or the corners. Both have benefits but those benefits are dependent on the tracks. We can even see it in this video with alex making incredible pace in comparison to the other cars in the first race but the struggling in the last race. This is because the first race was more dependent on corner speed than top speed in straights but the last track was more top speed dependent. Both choices are good choices, it just comes down to what choice do you prefer and what track you’re racing on.

    • @FFS-Vert
      @FFS-Vert 9 месяцев назад +1

      Actually being quick in power builds is another skill entirely

    • @swordmonkey6635
      @swordmonkey6635 9 месяцев назад

      @@jonathanlonsdale3404 The cars he has the most problem against are faster than him in the straights, but not slow enough in the corners to pass easily. He needs that setup instead of the "great in corners and watches everyone pull away or pass him on straights" he uses now.

      alex is... not good, shall we say, with oversteer, which tends to present more in power builds.

      The English imperial tongue has trouble with the "hy" sound, hence the variety of pronunciations.
