Thank you for this. I am actually going through the same thing. As an overseas dental therapist (black), no matter what I do, there is always one patient per day who has something to say. And the truth is that, there is no someone to support.

i'm so sorry this system is as it is. i've found this channel by researching how UDA's work. i'm planning to migrate and waiting the GDC registration to complete right now. but i'm so sorry i've heard the part regarding the different name and special treatment vs complaints. i'm white and i still feel that i'll be bothered by their negative british attitude towards me as a migrant from a shit world country. i've seen them hiking here or at beach resorts. many are very arrogant if you politely engage in small talk or a complex discussion, or they don't speak much or they simply ignore you. at times you can feel their vibe that something's wrong. no wonder this country is plagued with complaints and the defensive dentistry circus. it's going to be very frustrating and psychologically stressful for me, i'm certain. but i don't have a choice as in my country people try the best to avoid going to the dentist except for emergencies, and i'm not making much money. when they do, it's always a negotiation. also, drivers, construction workers, teachers and all state hired workers make more money here.

I have a question, do i need to do PLVE before going into the dental core training?

Dental core training requires you to have a performer number which you get from the PLVE. I would get an official response though as things can change from year to year.

You don't have to do PLVE to get into Dental Core Training for specific DCT posts. If you download the excel sheet from DCT website of the posts for each year, they mention in that sheet whether PLVE is required to apply for that specific post or not. Generally, posts in OMFS don't require PLVE.
