They didn't want her for the role in the beginning. Her bestie was up for the role but did her a solid and gave the location, details and scripts for it.
This is a prime example of following your heart. She literally was meant for this part. You can’t be letting people bring you down and stop you from doing things.

Every time she’s told this story over the years I crack up. She called Tichina Arnold first to ask her was she auditioning for the part before she went. They have always checked on each other before auditioning so they wouldn’t intrude on their audition. So when she found out she wasn’t Tisha went into “Lights, Camera, Action” mode 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
