That's a nice affect with the dancing water on the stand when you rev the engine. May I suggest a colored light behind it. Would love to ride it. (STEAL)
Mate I totally 100% agree with you on the mud races. I feel the riders don't get to show their skill as much as if it was a dry fast track. Nothing like paying a lot of money for me as an Australian to watch the guys roll jumps for 20 minutes. But on the plus side go AP. What an awesome dude. Aluminium
Steel….. keep the nostalgia alive. That AFC chassis could be the test pig for your newly built 500 engines, just as you have done now…… until the original chassis are finished 👍.
Dude, love the content, speaking of dodgy mechanical work, a previous owner had plugged the water pump tell tale hole on my 86 CR5 with a drill bit or welding rod. Of course the pump ,clutch cover was rotted out. If I may offer a small constructive criticism after watching 3 uploads, you ramble a bit much at times.
Ok so wait, this is the older shorter rod 2 stroke CR500 motor in a newer 450 aluminum frame? This is like a dream for me honestly, if I could dream up a bike for myself (not a racer as I'm getting close to 50) this would be it.
clean and powder coat the steel frame ,leave the engine in the alu frame for now as it looks like a blast if an when a smoking deal comes up the buyer has the option of either or both if the price is right ...great job
Thats a tough call buddy! I think that 85 deserves a full oem resto. Then find a motor , cuz you cant let that conversion frame go to waste! Unless you want to sell it to me and ship it to the east coast
Love the mud races, makes me appreciate the couch life.F the steely for another day, 07 is a rider. Wonder why nobody has made rubber isolated motor mounts to help Keep that water from dancing if crank balancing is not in the cards? Maybe they welded the plug so it doesn't get broken off in desert.Does it have removable clutch cover so you can just dump it during clutch change or inspection between races/rides?
The AFC looks way cooler, but they were what I drooled over in my early twenties. I think the steely should be saved though. Keep the 2007, and someday an engine will turn up.
I think it’s time to build on your garage. Then you could have enough room for shelves and cabinets to make your life easier. I know shits not cheap to do but might help you speed up your builds or be able to do multiple at once
Steel!!! The AF is cool but unless it's a service honda it's just another bike someone built in there garage. A million and one of em out there. Where I'm from I always see AF conversations there so popular a classic steel gets more attention even if it's beat to death.
Aluminum. I think if you had a nicer steel one it would be good, but you can find a better one for that. That frame was pretty roached as you pointed out.
Never been a fan of the mud races as it’s just not very fun to watch the best racers in the world try and survive going around the track. I need to see the speed and skill that these guys have, throwing it sideways, skimming through the whoops , railing the corners etc. I love the aluminum, so sick!
I get it. The steel is original and the right way. But damn that aluminum bike looks so badass and it's gonna function 1,000% better. I'm gonna say aluminum. For now 😂
wait, wasn't the 07 chassis like the worst chassis honda ever made? or am i thinking of a different year edit* yep my brain was shut off. that was the 97..... hold please while i smash my head into my desk to reset my brain.
The water dancing on the bottom of the stand is so awesome!
Exhibit A as to why red thread locker is a must on every bolt in a 500... They vibrate "a bit" 😅
That's a nice affect with the dancing water on the stand when you rev the engine. May I suggest a colored light behind it.

Aluminium looks beast

Aluminium
It's a different skill goin through mud
@@proudtoaster2118 Sure is a different skill! People say the same about Formula 1, however Ayrton Senna was a savage in the rain.
I like the 2007 frame
Steel….. keep the nostalgia alive. That AFC chassis could be the test pig for your newly built 500 engines, just as you have done now…… until the original chassis are finished 👍.
Please do a full build video on the 85 frame when you get it cleaned up. I don't get bored of I love it and it's what I do...
"Steel"! Classic 85. Not a lot of them around anymore complete.
Nice work
Awesome you’re staying with the steel frame
Thinking I would have pulled the clutch cover to drain the oil
Initially I was all for the Steel frame but that Alloy frame looks fucking amazing!!!
22:19 Allow me to play you the music of my people!
What a predicament, 85 originality or 07 freshness, love the 07 myself would be good to source another engine and keep the 85 as original as possible.
I love your builds my friend
Thing looks sick man
That turned out great!
Steel and aluminium 😍
Keep it real, stay with steel!! The AFC is bad ass, but only original once.
AF. But a close to full rebuild would also be sweet. But if it's for racing, the AF conversion is amazing!!
aluminum.. looks sick.. dream bike
AF all day looks sweet

Steel. Got to keep it together.

Welding the drain plug is crazyyy 💀
Insane. They probably either stripped out the threads, or snapped the plug lol
Aluminum! Looks bad ass!
Steel, find another engine for the alloy frame whenever,
Lund! You have to keep it in the 07 chassis, it’s badass brotha
Love the mud races, makes me appreciate the couch life.F the steely for another day, 07 is a rider.

Alloy frame for me 👍🏻
Lots of aluminum welding work required to modify the frame, not shown. They have kits to do the conversion, but still require cutting and welding.
I tell ya, you should build that YZ500 like lazer999 made. I think you would be impressed!
Aluminium. It just looks sharp and modern with the pipe and suspension.
The AFC looks way cooler, but they were what I drooled over in my early twenties. I think the steely should be saved though. Keep the 2007, and someday an engine will turn up.
I was very into you doing steel you know me I’m old school but dam the aluminum frame kinda grabbed me man
Clint I am torn on this and can't give an opinion. Lol
im an AF fan myself steel is cool for the retro aspect but the performance bonus of the AF, shocks, etc is cooler to me
Steel baby.
Awesome!!

I found its easier to take the top end off and put the bottom in the bike first and then reassmble
Aluminium 👍
Do those chassis have the same motor mounts or what? What did you do to get that to work?
Steel 👍
What did you do to resolve the pipe clearance on the coolant hose that goes to the rear of the cylinder?
If you’re not going to do a concourse rebuild on the 85 frame then keep it in the alloy 2007 frame
Steel!!! The AF is cool but unless it's a service honda it's just another bike someone built in there garage. A million and one of em out there. Where I'm from I always see AF conversations there so popular a classic steel gets more attention even if it's beat to death.
Steel ❤
It looks great, I say ride it, we want to see it rip.
What's the. C stand for in cr500afC. Never heard.
The Indian screaming clip gets me every time... AHHH!!! AHHH!!! AHHH!!! 🤣
I would.fulky restore the steel 85 roller,.and then find another 500 motor for your aluminum roller.
Badass!!! I joined the group!!!
I hate to say this but leave it in the Aluminum. Bike looks sweet!
Steel with upgraded suspension.
Steel!
AF looks awesome but bring back the 85
Steel!!
Nice
