- What does it take to be President? VVP lists a few qualities at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, 2019. (He left out being the Head of Intelligence in a previous life and knowing the system inside out really really helps! :P) PS - for those who don't know, Ukraine's new President is an actor by profession.

Holy shit, as an American I am continuously blown away by how awesome Putin is. Literally one of the greatest statesmen of the modern era.
President Putin's wisdom is unchallenged by any EU, UK, US leader. What a wise president!
This man is utter brilliance. I marvel at his intellect and deep understanding of the human nature.

It is truly refreshing to find a head of state who speaks his mind, who does not twist words to fit every occasion that he speaks, and especially, is not afraid of what the world press says about him
Inessa, you have my thanks for your work here. We will never meet, so I do not speak to impress you or to curry your favor. Just know that there are many people who admire your courage. We, those who fight the lies and the liars, do so at some risk to ourselves.
Thank you. You show by example.
this is truly an intelligent person. i know pretty much nothing about russia but have a certain amount of respect for people who voted putin into office.
Americans aren't allowed to know much about Putin, only what the lying media tells them. If they did know, they would like him. That cannot be allowed.
That happens to be me, among many others :) Etermena, thank you for your kind words!
@blue copper UA means Ukraine. Don't waste your time on stupid Ukrainian trolls.

For a minute there I though Mr. Putin was talking about Justin Trudeau.

@Jo W.C. How long did you live in Canada and how long in Russia?
Once I overcame my programmers, I became a fan of Pres. Putin.

I have respected Mr Putin and always will. He is a wise Man. I Pray To ALLAH, he live long as President of Russia, and his reign will continue further this period.
Love from Pakistan.
I thought the latest UKR president was more of a stand up comedian ...
But Mr Putin always has impeccable manners ... especially when trolling muppets ( which he always does with facts, wrapped in style and delivered with warm hearted panache ! )
Ikr..? His humor is so spot on and he uses levity instead of pointing fingers. He is thought-full, and funny. This kind of exposure to the real world is the best use of the wwweb; and why its being encroached upon imo
Thank you Inessa

It looked as if President Xi Jinping was enjoying President Putin’s comments immensely, as it was a clear statement about the characteristics necessary for those who choose to take responsibilities for their nation. And he’s right, only time will tell.
And the present time is telling us. President Putin words were accurate. ❤
One of his best speeches, definitely.
Thanks for translating Inessa ;)

Truth spoken
Putin does not want to invite Zelensky to Moscow because Zelensky has made hostile statements about Putin after the election. Russia cannot afford any backstabbing right now.

Thanks ever so much Inessa. Hope Zelensky picks up on the subtle hints Sir Putin gave in this interview.
The Americans have already threatened him. I don't know how honest Zelensky can be before the Americans kill him.
2:07, shi jinping is just crushed by awsomeness of putin.
I kind of hate this, but, I do like Putin.
He is quite convincing. I can see why he stays in office. People truly do like him and they trust him. Is he for real? I don't know, but, he does seem to be so.. , unlike ANY of what the USA has had, since (right after) Jimmy Carter. Carter was the most honest president we've had, bar non, in my lifetime. He was even more honest than JFK. It simply is what it is. Putin kind of reminds me of Carter-- though he is able to get a LOT more done, and I think it is because, mainly, Putin does not have a secretive, underhanded, despicable set of despots, undoing his work and plotting against him. (I Know, he has some who despise him, but, it just is not the same.)

Inessa, you were way ahead of time, you paid too much attention to details, you knew what was coming
Vladimir Vladimirovich displays a well-honed view of mostly centralized decision-making processes. His views reflect on the generally stated Russian inability to understand, for example (picking an example from recent news), why Google's decision to no longer supply Huawei with software was independent of the decision by the US Government to make its announcement. In other words, having the same or similar information is not the same as making individual decisions. A second point is that having a centralized view of decision-making makes one vulnerable to having one's own decision making processes dumbed down -- and inner circle denied information. The quality of information flow is much better, maybe over 10 times better around the important edges, when decision making is decentralized and a President is more of a band-leader than a martinet-maestro. A wise bandleader has respect for the musicians. Look at how the wagons were circled around the Novichok incident, for example. And around VV's assurances that if someone were exposed to it, because it is "military grade" the person would die, rather than simply get ill. Or look at VV's notions of "the world is multipolar for everything except nuclear arms deals". Not really a head-scratcher if one is a trained investigator and looks for money flows as a matter of professional preoccupation.... I can continue, but the day is short and I am tired of "bossman morality lectures" from someone who has not had the tough questions asked of him since probably 2011.
For the first half of the video everyone in the audience looked like they had a trained sniper ready to shoot on them haha

I hope China's leader learned something too.
"...it is one thing to act as something, and entirely another to be something." Leave it to Putin to elicit one of the most potent and profound realities of 21st century politics, the politics of personality. Meanwhile in America, half the nation got hooked on a popular TV reality show called "The Apprentice" and subsequently elected a POTUS who conducts world affairs like an impetuous 8 year old child... nicknames and all.
I appreciate the respect given to these world leaders. In USA our media just wants sexy dirt . Instead of working with Trump, they try to defeat any objective he has. That's crippling.
Today 29th May 2024 , watching this video and the way Putin was talking about Zelensky was a warning about the way Zelensky will be a disaster as president.
I see President Xi closed to President Putin. When Mr Xi has an interview like this to show for all people around the world?

Inessa, you know I'm a big fan of yours and your work but i have one question if i may please?
Has the government of Russia contacted you regarding your work? Even a thank you from them?. Thank you kindly.
p.s still waiting for you to give me the pleasure to buy you a cup of coffee. hehe
That's right, action and results will show what a good president Zelenski is. Sofar all he has done was working the crowd, as an actor would do, to win the election.
I wish the USA had a President like him. So sick of liberal propaganda.
Amen president putin
Actor? I'd rather say a clown
It's good that Trump stir up all the problems to keep us busy.
All this admiration and yes Putin is very articulate and intelligent. BUT WHAT EXACTLY HAS HE DONE TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THE LOWER AND MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLES? WHAT IS THE STATE OF STARTING A SMALL BUSINESS IN RUSSIA? Is it not the case that all the money in Russia goes to and is in the hands of oligarchs???
@DrTheKay there are oligarchs of course , but the unregulated theft of resources as per the 1990s has been somewhat curtailed. Russia effectively ceased to be one country in the 1990s as regions stopped paying taxes and stopped enlisting into the army etc. You really have to much more objective when thinking about this.
Well, I can say that those Europeans that are sane enough not to believe russophobic propaganda come to live and make business in Russia
If you've been paying attention these last few months you could answer you own question. That's what all these sanctions are for ... to stop Russia's growth so obviously it has to choose. If there were no sanctions Russia would have already progressed by leaps and bounds.
Hello your blind under puntin smile

This was bad acting even for Putin's standards (which are usually pretty high).
There is no "acting", he's just being polite and measured about it. He is being critical, but not letting the criticism become sour.
My sense, is that Putin is the greatest actor of our modern time. I do not trust that he is who he expresses himself to be.
+swordoftruth... unless you have some hidden gifts you are wasting...... You are just stating your opinion without any evidence....
All the world leaders are playing a role.... that is part of the job description.
SO who do you trust, Trump??? Netty???? Morrison, Trudeau, etc etc..
Make a serious comment, not your personal gripes with nothing to back it up
If he is actor, OK, but the results he achieves in actuality is what matters to us, the people.
@Your Royal Eminence Your Royal Eminence What an irrefutable proof.
Your sense is completely wrong. One's intuition should work in conjunction with evidence. You should watch his famous speeches, his interviews and Russian or other objective documentaries, and then use your intuition
@@mariaangelicabrunellsolar7086 Exactly. What "swordoftruth" seems to mistake for "intuition" in this case, is called "prejudice".

While I am at it. This is the first time I have heard Putin articulate his obvious "martinet maestro" style of decision-making (as opposed to distributive decision-enablement). He was sitting on a panel with Xi while he was stating with almost extreme clarity of thought (as much as someone who excludes arms treaties from multipolar world considerations can) his ideas about how it is that he does his job. "Was he showing off for Xi?" is an example of a hard question I bet nobody, not even the usually tough-enough Sophie Scheverdnadze would ask without someone stupid or with nothing to lose (such as me) running interference first. This passive-aggressiveness is an example of the ossification caused by centralizing power in the way Putin has done (to put my views down as diplomatically as possible).
And one more thing.... Baring the "martinet maestro" decision-making style like this for the first time, although one would expect Putin to deny showing off for Xi, could not possibly be "an amazing coincidence."
Google is not independent of the US government. Google is run by the CIA. You have absolutely no idea how decisions are made in Russia. You think Putin is a dictator? He is not. You cannot live if exposed to any amount of one of the Novichok agents. They are 10 times more deadly than VX. I am tired of morons who think they are smart. You are a trained investigator? I doubt it. You certainly haven't investigated anything to do with Russia. If you are an American you live in a fascist corporate dictatorship, not a democracy but a fake democracy. A democracy is not a democracy if all the people running are controlled by the same people. It's an illusion. Slavery works best when they don't know. And the reason the US wants Huawei banned is because the US government cannot spy on people through Huaweir products, and Huawei is superior to US companies.
