BRAND - What people say about you when your not in the room. Deep and well said Vusi. In Ghana we've seen many large institutions, like banks, fall due to their founders refusal to separate themselves from the brand. This advice would have served them well. Thanks doyen.
I wake up & fall asleep with this warrior hes deeply spiritual & ground base👊🏾. At present unable 2 thank him enough 4 his investment 2 humanity & his people❤🙏🏾
Asante sana Vusi! Brand is what people say when you are not in the room! Brand should live in the minds of the customers. Should have a specific target market-shouldn't target every body! Should be authentic.
knowing your customer is so vital for anyone that has a business. You can't sell to everybody. Yes you definitely need to know your customer's passions and their problems
I won't lie it is hard to remove yourself from the brand when you are both the employer and only employee of the company but I now know it is necessary. 💥 Thanks Groot-man 🤝🔥
Wow...this answers so many questions I have been mulling about. "Separate your brand from yourself and your ego." The whole concept of noy being there for 24 months and things go smoothly is really something I've grappled with how to make it happen but the idea that I could build my business from a brand perspective...wah...that's just it...bigger than me and all about the customer. Thanks VT...I'm off to rethink lots of things
Thank you for this. Learned and got reminded of the fundamental, most important points to consider on branding. Quick one on "Removing yourself and ego from the brand": Often people buy first into the brand when they can attach a face & name to it. That face and name normally has a relatable background that the potential customers can align with. Given this brief background, please expand on this point. Does this mean as I go into the market from the onset, I don't include myself or at a later stage that's when me and my ego will be removed? So the product or the brand must do all the talking to its target market?
Awesome one, branding is very key and fundamental to existence of the business beyond the founders. Thumbs up Vusi for this great podcast. I can resonate more with that bit of institutionalization if the brand..being authetic comes with more weight than you have mentioned..its clearly where majority of the brands are failing
“Without a strategy, the liquid gold in those wine bottles means nothing” - unknown I’ve always heard how brand identity is the pinnacle of any successful business. That’s my goal “branding” Thank you Vusi
Hi Vusi, I hope you'll read this comment with an open mind and an empathetic perspective. 🙏 Did you ever consider adding subtitles just for when we missed a word while listening? You are a phenomenal speaker whose vocabulary is extraordinary - no doubt. It just gets frustrating for me when I'm denied an opportunity to learn a new word or understand a concept from your content simply because I couldn't get a spelling of a new word I heard right when trying to search for it. I am fully aware that I am in no position to demand. You are doing more than enough for us with your wisdom sharing. I am just suggesting something that will add more value to the already existing value you are sharing. I'd really appreciate it if I see subtitles in one of your upcoming podcasts. This would also help those who want to learn from you even when they don't have effective operating ears. I'm looking forward to your next podcast. From nobody, who simply wants to be somebody through your teachings. 🙏
Brilliant Podcast thanks VT.How do you built a brand if the value chains in most businesses in the country limit your business to expand or to compete with big businesses.Example one can only sell vegetables but one cannot own the farm that produce the vegetables because the values chains outbeat you.
My key takeaway is 'remove yourself and your ego...' but still I remain egoistic. What is branding for third world countries; for people whose core need is not what you tell them and a value conversation is neat yet obscured by 100 obstacles other than you meeting their demand (is it a competition or trust?) What is it to a person who does not view this video despite the video thumbnail is written branding (is it V.T or something else?)
My customer is everybody, Vusi. 🤣🤣🤣. So, let me summarise what you said and correct me if am wrong: Identify your target market Know exactly what they are willing to spend their money on Make sure your ads are relevant to their needs/wants Deliver beyond expectation Right?
No.....No.. No... No... I was hoping it will be 30 minutes but It so short and sweet, it a great strategy to remove your face from your brand, but some people just don't want to remove themselves e.g Elon Mask, Jeff bezos , and their brand is doing great I wonder how they're doing it
There is no hope to built big businesses in south africa the value chains and the monopoly does not allow for growth rather keep selling your vegs on a small scale.

Separate yourself from the business ,let it stand on it's own

Michael E Gerber said it best the only way you can remove yourself is “....by working on your business not in your business”.
Wow...this answers so many questions I have been mulling about.

I'll agree with your last statement as the answer to your question. Your brand must be different from unless the brand is you

If you turn RUclips captions on it works just perfectly especially with someone as articulate Vusi
Precise & clear, thank you 🙏

My key 🔑takeaways:
1. Have a specific audience.
2. Be authentic, very important.
3. Differentiate self from the brand.
Brand positioning is super key for every business. It helps eliminate a lot of confusion and gives you direction
This podcast is just brilliant 💯💯,

I can also define it as the CUSTOMER'S GUT FEELING about your PRODUCT, SERVICE, COMPANY and/or PERSONALITY.

A Brand is what people say when you're not in the room
Why are we having difficulty finding the whatsapp platform?
What do I want to stand for? Who do I want to be?
Brand
🤜🏿🤛🏿
Guy should be a radio host😪🤨🤨🤨
Okay now I'm struggling🤦🏽♀️
This is very powerful.
What problem does Ray-Ban-Stories (smart glasses) solve? I am having trouble finding the answer to that question.
i guess more like trying to create a need. like how apple created the iPad.
My customer is everybody, Vusi. 🤣🤣🤣.
So, let me summarise what you said and correct me if am wrong:
Identify your target market
Know exactly what they are willing to spend their money on
Make sure your ads are relevant to their needs/wants
Deliver beyond expectation
Right?
I've a worry.
I want to build an online company on health and I don't know exactly how to go about it or what do to.
Any help!!!
Great initiative, drop your email address!!!!
