I just met Connie from Virginia Beach yesterday at ECVN run at Shands Park Stony Creek , VA who donated Pearl the Janis Joplin inspired van she was absolutely beautiful amazing lady ❤ Everyone was so friendly and just chill actually, but Connie and her crew were near and they were so welcoming. You can clearly see vanning community is like a family❤ 29:52 We will (husband & me) will be attending more as much as possible wished we could’ve stayed for entire weekend but definitely will be attending again anywhere the van and money allows. This was our 1st time so we and one other gentleman were puppies if you know you know cause I didn’t lol

I had two Chevy vans in the 80s and we cruised Gratiot and Woodward. Crushed velvet everywhere. We were a little crew of up to 15 or so vans. We were a rolling party.

I was into the van movement big time. Started with a 69 Dodge eventually owning 4 vans including my pride and joy a 4x4 Chevy van converted to 4x by Challenge Cook Company in Ohio. Attended many van ins back in the day. I have a bunch of pics from the van ins,

So much to look at outside you didn't even make it into the museum. 50th Van Nats are in Sterling, CO July 5-9, 2023. I'm sure Joe will be there!

Wow! Those are some fantastic pieces of art. I remember seeing vans although not as elaborate as these but they were decked out. Graphics different paints schemes. Of course we saw them on TV as well. I often wonder what happened to the conversion van. Like you said they just seem to disappear overnight. I don't see why the captain chairs would not hold up in the crash. But the big side windows I've often wonder about. We've got a mid-80s full size conversion van. I've noticed some more interest in those conversion vans both for collectibility and being used. But rushed really seems to get to these vans. The conversion van had been in the family for probably decades. Fortunately rust has not gotten to it. But they're still difference between a conversion van and these rolling pieces of art. Thanks for basically stumbling across this and taking the time to show us. Episodes like this really stand out. Thanks for your dedication to your channel.
