I will never forget how cool my dad and I thought it was that the zamboni driver would occasionally wave to you. We couldn't start the next period until it happened.
Holy shit I almost shed a tear when I heard the intro music haha. It just took me back to when I was 13 and in a lot of ways a better time. This was a GREAT game and I miss the hell out of it. I need to find a sega somewhere
Back in 91 i had a neighborhood league in which 16 families and their kids played on my tv on sunday nights . It was great , all who played had to choose team that they hadnt played before ...and we rotated the game play so that all was fair .
This game was so good me and my brother played it on and off for 7 years. We always did playoffs as teammates. Some of the records we achieved will blow your mind. They’re astonishing. 5 min periods our biggest ever win was 50-1 Montreal v Quebec. 281 checks in a single game by Montreal. 171 decibels recorded in one game by Boston. Granted when we started in 92 we were not quite so efficient.
Might as well throw some more out there. 23 goals in 1 5 min period (Capitals). Bob Carpenter 13 sec hat-trick. Quickest goal 3 seconds (Gretzky). 64 Shots 1 game (Montreal). 17 goals one player, 1 game (Counrtnall). 24 shots one player, 1 game (Messier). Oh and Don Beaupre (think that’s his name) scored a goal once from his goal area!
Next to NBA jam, this was my favourite game to play on the mega drive/genesis. Brings back grat memories. Must have been around 12 years old when this released.
We played tournaments of this game a bunch of friends that was awesome! I played a full season of this game from beginning to the stanley cup finals I used to play like 4 games per night every night after work! This is one of the best game I played in my life as far as fun is concern! Good times!
This is the old version with the EASN logo. Shortly after EA filing a lawsuit with ESPN, it was changed to EA Sports. But there are undumped late revision ROMs made for the SNES and Genesis NHLPA '93 and the Genesis Madden Football '93 with the EASN references being replaced by the EA Sports branding.
Always have love for this game for the straight fact they list the islanders as long island. Strong island forever. Pop rich pilon and mick vukota in to boost the fight rankings.
This was such an awesome game with fluid gameplay and great music. Also loaded with bugs and exploits, LOL. Funny how you could be the least heavy guy in the game and everyone just falls down when you check them. The higher stats goalies were actually way worse. First NHL hockey is a much better game because of this despite the less fluid gameplay. I guess they forgot to playtest this game or something. Still had fun playing my friends at this though.
NHL 92 N.Y. Islanders had Pat LaFontaine, Randy Wood, Wayne McBean, Craig Ludwig and Brent Sutter. NHL 93 Isles had Pierre Turgeon, Steve Thomas, Adam Creighton, Uwe Krupp and Benoit Hogue.
@@FilipoSooaUlufale Healy was the main at the time. Mark Fitzpatrick was the backup. That was an upstart Islanders team. If Dale Hunter didn't commit that cheap shot, then maybe the Islanders would have had a much better shot at the Canadiens in the eastern conference finals.
@@NYFanatic I guess it's because Mark Fitzpatrick almost missed the entire 1990-91 season with a severe illness, so Healy took over the main goalie role for the rest of his time in Long Island, while Fitzpatrick never developed into a solid No. 1 netminder because of it.
@@FilipoSooaUlufale Yep. Only to leave for the Rangers (East Coast Oilers) and see them break the 54 year curse and have Mark Messier hoist that cup. And yes the Rangers are the East Coast Oilers. MacTavish, Graves, Lowe, Tikkanen, and Messier. All holdovers.
The only thing that kept this game from being sheer perfection was not be g able to control the goalie. Letting an errant pass go all the way down the ice only to beat my goalie 5 hole made me break a few controllers lol. And oh yeah, no rookies, which meant no Lindros. Otherwise, it was one of the best games ever made
I gotta ask, I opened the game expecting to have a battery to change!! NO DAMN BATTERY!! How come this game has onboard memory but every other EA game uses a battery to maintain memory/saves.
I was about 21 mildy hot tempered and untouchable at this game, among my young adult peers. Then one day my 9 year old nephew's friend said "ooh ooh i'll play you. i'm really good" I laughed the kid off about 5 times before i let him play me. The game started, he went up the middle, down the left, down the right, all over me, and he wasn't being shy on the goal celebrations either. Next thing i know I slip and accidentally pick up the Sega and drop it, then i'm chasing the little swine for 4 blocks, through rush hour traffic, as he's about a block ahead yelling back "HAHA YOU SUCK!!" . I'm 47, never seen the kid again and never played NHL 93 again after that.... And btw, I didn't lose. He forfeited when he ran for his life.
I will never forget how cool my dad and I thought it was that the zamboni driver would occasionally wave to you. We couldn't start the next period until it happened.
i remember dude. man i wish i could go back to 1993-1994 and not have to deal with the bullshit of today
He did it when the home team was leading
Awesome memories
He whhhaaattt???? I didn't know this!

Loved the out of town scoreboard during intermissions especially when it had a highlight video lol
Still my favorite hockey game on Genesis. It plays well and you can get into fights. I still play it from time to time.
Couldn't agree more!!

They are cheap.
It took me back to when I was six years old, when I first played it at my grandmother's house in 2002.
@@MegaAnimazing I like the intro music than in nhl 1994. You hear the beat and bass. The gameplay is in nhl 1994 better.
You can play the game on your pc through an emulator. I recommend KEGA.

Trail Treker Bet you miss those days!?
same, in my neighborhood we did on paper full seasons and playoffs with all the kids
I’d take that over crappy laggy online NHL 19 any day

The music Brings back so many memories
Hooooowaah!
I would do the instant replay, and rewind the goal siren over and over and have multiple sirens going off at the same time.
blackhawks were my squad: Roenick, Larmar, Chelios, Smith, Goulet
Roenick was unplayable.
Incredible in this game
I always swapped Goulet for Grimson.
fuck chris chelios

Long Island Islanders of Long Island, New York State
I Remember This Game As a Kid OMG The Blood After a Fight was So Awesome But Nasty!
i had this cartridge, me and frieds used to gather up and do our own versus champsions, it was amazing
The intro song brings back alot of memories lol
Am I the only one who prefers NHLPA 93 over NHL 94?
Apparently not
yes, with this dork soulforsale@
Absolutely loved this. Want a megadrive now....better than the nes version
Used to be able to take Ottawa to Stanley Cup on this. Favourite team was Pittsburgh Penguins with Mario Lemieux.
nhl 94 was my first! so nice to see a "new" nhl game for genisis ahaaha
I still have mine. I remember when it came out and would lust who scored the goal and what-not. We thought that was the best thing ever.

Thanks for the support! Means a lot!
@VideoGaming4U I Loved This Game As a Kid Which made Me Become a Flyers Fan!
I just bought a Nordiques hat!!!
That is awesome! Congrats!
@VideoGaming4U NHL 93 is a Awesome NHL Game!
Man, you wouldn't believe how much I played this.
I always played this one of my brothers. I remember in there was a move you could do where you shot towards the goal posts, you'd always score
I remember playing this it's a good game
NHL 92 N.Y. Islanders had Pat LaFontaine, Randy Wood, Wayne McBean, Craig Ludwig and Brent Sutter. NHL 93 Isles had Pierre Turgeon, Steve Thomas, Adam Creighton, Uwe Krupp and Benoit Hogue.
I used to go Pittsburgh and put Bob Errey in occasionally because he had speed rating of 100. Ah nostalgia is so easy to access nowadays
Islanders were my team. Turgeon, Pilon, Flatley, Healy, Thomas, Malakhov, and Kasparitis. That playoff run was something to remember.
Scored a goal with Healy lol
Hugh Tahoob wasn’t Mark Fitzpatrick the main goalie for the Islanders and Healy the backup?

Which NHL hockey game on Sega Genesis do you think is the best?
The one after this where they added one-timers.
classic
Jets were my squad. Shannon, Steen,Housley ,
Why does it look like Vancouver's shorts are blue
Goat
1:44 guys Is a song or they play that in most sports 🤔
Toronto was an overall 2?? 🤣 They ended up going to the conference finals that year!
Me too :)
Interesting that Toronto was graded so poorly, but made the Campbell Finals before losing to the Kings in 7.
This game was based on the 1991-1992 season so that's why.
