2025, and I can finally say, after a decade and a half of trying, failing, not being 100% comfortable, etc. I've moved to Linux, Endeavour OS KDE, for good now. (no windows partition this time).
I don't have windows. Fulltime linux user since 2007. I would assume its a bit better on windows. But its playing perfectly fine for me on Linux. 32 hours played. Zero crashes. Framerates with framegen are 80-140. Most of the time around 120 in the wilderness. Only bigger camps drop framerates to as low as 80 at times.
@@xpander69 Some (most?) games works faster on Linux, but it seems like Stalker the only one exception and works 5x times slower. I'm linux user for many years. Yet had to install Windows to check Stalker perfomance. UE5 is bad technology choice from GSC, they didn't think trougth. UE4 should be an option.
@@alexeykuznetsov211 I don't know. looks about same performance as on windows (similar hardware and settings) according to this for me, i even have it a bit better i think: ruclips.net/video/XsaN869_FEE/видео.html both without framegen and with framegen.
Am having a CTD issue with GameScope+HDR with a NVIDIA-4090 that happens randomly but usually within 20mins of play. Been working on solving this issue, MIGHT have solution, more testing needed which I'll do today but this basically affects anyone who wants to enable GS+HDR and perhaps on a NV card.
its rare to see a game of this caliber getting day one support via proton lol
not too rare these days. Most i think work day one or next day at the latest.
Let's go linux ftw!
i was watching some other linux user and he was like the game looks like it came out of 2005. i was like check your eyesight the game looks great.

Linux vs Windows comparison would be interesting.

@@xpander69 I'm using wine-9.22 and protonge-9.20. And perfomance is terrable on my machine under Linux. Maybe that is an issue.
@@alexeykuznetsov211 i only use official proton versions unless theres specific need for others. proton-experimental in my case.
