    I just dug out my old Dirt Thrasher and it has the same chassis you added. I also have the FRP shock towers front and rear. On the drive shaft we always added a half inch of fuel tubing to lock the ungrade shaft in place. I would love to send you pictures of my old kit.

      G'day David! Sorry for my slow reply.
      That's awesome, a vintage beast is always cool to see. I see the pics on my group, looks great and will be a beast if you go brushless and 2s! 😁👍

    Very good work, an excellent transformation and the test is conclusive.

    thanks for the tip on the carbon protection technique- going to use this idea on my TA03R runner chassis upgrade I have- you can barley keep it in the driveway- be careful with it at that track

      No probs, glad you got something from the video. Haha yeah, it's a handful to drive in the driveway. I'll have to get this one to the track soon. 👍

      Sorry for the slow reply mate. You could try MCI in Canada for the decals. That's what I used on this one. 👍

    Has a nice bit of zip to it! Much better with the TF chassis👍

      Should be nuts on 3s, better add extra tyre glue! lol. The good thing about this chassis is I don't need to be so picky about what battery I use. 👍

    That buggy looks sharp mate 👌
    I thought it was on 3s the way it accelerated!
    I reckon it deserves a nice set of alloy shocks to finish it off!
    Nice work 👍🦘🇦🇺

      Thanks mate. I'm not too keen on the looks of this buggy, but those plastic yellow shock do look pretty ugly on it. The yellow CVA's seem to look ok on most other Tamiyas but just look wrong on this buggy. Maybe I'll look for some nice Chinese, big bore shocks in red or blue. 😁👍

    That turned out great but if that was 2S, you're gonna need some more tires and a LOT more room!😮😁😎👍👍

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 года назад

      Thanks mate. Oh yeah, gonna need more room for sure. This run was only a quick test, I'll take it back to the BMX track for the 3s run. 👍

    How are your temps on 3s with the 4300 kV motor? My 3900kV Motor with 18p gear got cooked.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 года назад +1

      I've only run this one on 2s so can't what the temps would be like. That said I've never really measured the temp even on 2s.

      @RCHobbyShed  4 года назад

      Hi, sorry for my slow reply. I'm using an OCDAY esc and 4300kv brushless combo. For the chassis I used Top Force upper and lower decks and the Top Force alloy chassis spacers. Also Top Force battery retainers. Hope this helps. 👍

  • @bradkalman2353

    So what you going to do with the chassis replacing to save it for another project?

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 года назад

      I'll keep it for a spare for my other Manta Ray.

  • @bradkalman2353
    @bradkalman2353 4 года назад +1

    Now you going to have to replace the tires cuz I'm sure those pins are all used up.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 года назад

      Nah, they still have plenty of meat on them. The 3s might wreck them though. 😁
