The first ever US-born player for the team Japan, he became the American Samurai and won the hearts of Japanese people. As a Japanese-American, I'm so proud of what he's done for both the USA and Japan. Love the WBC. Can't wait for 2026!
This dude is U.S. ; born and raised in El Segundo CA..George Brett territory and is of Dutch, German, and English ancestry on his Father's side(Patrilineal descent rules) Asian Mother not withstanding ..kind of silly having him playing on / pretending to represent the Japanese National Team. It would be a different story perhaps had he been not only born in 'the Land of the Rising Sun' but grown up there as well.
@@Inglorious_Batters Thank you for defending our Tetsuji. Lars Taylor-Tatsuji Nootbaar's Samurai spirit led Japan to the championship. I and all Japanese baseball fans love Tatsuji. (deepl translation)
@@tommyriam8320 it doesn't matter where you're born in international game play. just like the Olympics, a player can be descendant of a particular country to play for them. if you go by birthplace then there wouldn't be such a thing as naturalized citizens, which is needed for immigrants, war refugees and asylum seekers..
@@naotosuzuki9040 adding this to my point is that Ohtani recruited him! He isn’t saying no to that lol you all have a CRAZY good Japanese team!! Congrats to you!!
1:05 I think it is talking about Omamori, lucky charms, are said to summon good fortune and expel evil. He got it from his teammate Shugo Maki in Japan.
Too much to describe in words how I feel just following Team Japan and watching both in Japan and the U.S. from Day 1 till this day. Congrats to you and Team Japan. Ben cherish your new friend Lars Nootbaar for many years to come. Lars, congrats from the bottom of my heart. Both Japanese people and Japanese Americans are so proud of you being the bridge of two countries. Thank you to all members of Team Japan for so many most unforgettable moments during the tournament. You guys did a phenomenal job!!! I will never forget this feeling I had just following and watching your journey to the top!!! Congrats!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏
Tacchan! You showed us how to express Samurai Japan’s burning souls. Shohei was inspired from you when he was expressing his soul on the 2nd base. That was something he never done before. We witnessed you play from your heart. You are surely one of us. おめでとう!そしてありがとうヌートバー!カージナルズでの健闘を祈る!
He can’t speak Japanese at all.why..why..his mom is a Japanese native and America dad even speak Japanese….😔😔I don’t understand why they didn’t give him a special gift of being a bilingual…😔おめでとう侍ジャパン🎉🎉
It's not that easy to be bilingual in America. Your parents would have to speak exclusively the other language at home while you learn English at school. And that usually creates a communication gap.
