    The Village Bride is when it really got me hooked in. I thought the first one was good, the second one neat, but really disliked the third, but episode 4 was beautiful. The next two were awesome too and I think it all culminated in The Elder. Have we seen a better depiction of what Jedi are supposed to be than in that episode? The master and apprentice are so endearing and the simplicity of the story allows for us to breathe in the atmosphere. The master talking about the force and old age was cathartic and beautiful. Best Jedi moments since Luke’s training in my opinion.

    Lightsaber colors changing according to their wielders' Force alignment is such a cool idea. I kind of wish that's how Kyber Crystals worked in Canon.

    • @davidheitzenrater9027
      @davidheitzenrater9027 2 года назад +3

      It still sort of does. Clone Wars heavily implies that the saber color of the kyber crystal is determined by the wielder and Sith can "bleed" a crystal to make it red. So it still happens it's just not as fluid.

    • @RbkARI
      @RbkARI 2 года назад +8

      @@davidheitzenrater9027 Yes, sort of. Crystals that have been bled can also be healed and they turn white, like Ahsoka's sabers. Still wish the idea would be more widely implemented though.

      @stevenblankenheim4016 2 года назад +2

      It make sense for generations of sabersmiths to develop a way to temper kyber crystals to better connect to the Force user's personalities and alignment... since Sith tradition is to bleed kyber crystals into red, and Ahsoka purified the crystals she took from an Imperial Sith Inquisitor, generating white blades. Old Jedi tradition is apparently each Jedi creates their own Saber.. but with Rey (I know I know I know.... bear with it); its possible after her, there started a new tradition of sabersmiths creating for Force users... could even connect to the Mandalorian somehow, especially with the Darksaber and the Armorer. If there exists someone who would be able to reforge and create new lightsabers, the Armorer would be a good place to start.

    Could “The Elder” take place shortly after the Jedi-Sith War/New Sith Wars? I interpreted it as the Elder being a former Sith Lord who left the Sith before their destruction and restructure under Darth Bane. It also makes sense in Legends because there had to be minor Sith factions around that were not present on Ruusan when the thought bomb detonated.

    I just watched the series yesterday and it's episodes and wow was I blown away with each one. From all of the different shorts, my favorites were definitely the first five episodes and among those first Five: The Twins, The Village Bride, The Duel and especially The Ninth Jedi have the potential to become full-fledged anime series on Disney+ since their endings were open-ended. In addition I also love the nods and Easter eggs to other Japanese anime & Media, in particular T0-B1, being a reference to Astro Boy.
    I do hope we get another season of Star Wars Visions, along with more anime series on Disney+ based on Disney's IP (e.g. Marvel, Star Wars), and anime adaptations of projects that Disney previously collaborated with Japan such as Twisted Wonderland, Kilala Princess, Technologia School of Magic, Stitch and the Samurai, Magical Dance, Disney Star Smash and obviously Kingdom Hearts.

    I see others have already noted the T0-B1/Tobio connection (the Astro Boy references are all over, like his master resembling Dr. Ochanomizu and the general vibe of the whole thing), so I'd like to note that in the Japanese version he's played by Masako Nozawa, the original Japanese voice of Goku in all Dragon Ball series. On the note of DB, I see you caught the Scouter Lop wears!
    For other voice actor bits I caught, in The Ninth Jedi Kazuya Nakai, One Piece's Zoro, played one of the Sith and Shinichiro Miki, Kojiro (James) in Pokémon, Roy Mustang in FMA Brotherhood, Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super, and other roles, plays the lightsaber smith.
    Also in The Ninth Jedi, the droid Four Nine is possibly a reference to the legendary Leiji Matsumoto series Galaxy Express 999. The name of the titular space train in that series is actually pronounced "Three Nine," so that's why I think it's a reference.
    There very well may be more stuff I missed, so I'll keep my eye out on rewatches!

    Would like to add that the T0-B1 episode most likely takes inspiration from the very old school anime Astro Boy, an anime about a robot boy recreated in the image of a scientist' late son who fights against evil. T0-B1 was designed like an energetic boy and has a father-son like relationship with his creator, and if I remember correctly his name could be pronounced like Tobi, which is close to Toby or Tobio, the name of the kid Astro Boy was modelled after

    For the carvings on the wall in the T0-B1 episode, there's a sketch above Grevious and Kenobi of Ahsoka fighting two inquisitors from the rebels episode "Children of the Force"

    In the Village Bride during the short flashbacks the female Jedi has you can hear a very iconic scream which probably belongs to Palpatine. It is the same Scream he made when he dashed forward on Mace Windu in Episode 3. It might be that she is the only survivor of the group of Jedi(?) in her Flashback that tried to defend themselves against Sidious.

    There were a few familiar voices to Star Wars animations of the past.
    Bobby Moynihan voices Geezer in the English Dub of Tatooine Rhapsody. He's most known in Star Wars for providing the voice of Orka from Star Wars Resistance, but has made cameos in Clone Wars and Bad Batch.
    Christopher Sean voices Asu in the English Dub of The Village Bride. He provided the voice of Kazuda Xiono in Star Wars Resistance.
    James Hong voices the old man in the English Dub of the The Elder. He also provided the voices for Azmorigan in Star Wars Rebels and Endente from the Crystal Crisis on Utapau Story Reels of Clone Wars.
    George Takei voices Senshuu in the English Dub of Akakiri. He provided the voice for the great General Lok Durd of the Separatist Alliance in Clone Wars, we congratulate him on his good fortune.

    In the village bride, the Jedi in hiding has a flashback vision of what appears to be order 66 and/or operation knightfall, she is seen looking at the body of her fallen master, and voices of what could be interpreted of other Jedi are heard. And flashes of a red blade are seen. This could be a reference to the fall of the Jedi temple, even tho anakin’s lightsaber wasn’t red at the time.

    Alex, you missed a small one: B-2ON is just C-3PO displaced letter by letter, each to the previous one. So I don't think it's "Bee Twenty En", but rather "Bee Two Oh En" or "Bee Two On". (Edit: it makes sense since R-DUO is a play on R2's name; naturally "Two On" would play on Threepio's name.)
