Rotor weight - The Camaro OEM discs are as mentioned 24.x lbs. The Corvette Z06 rings are several pounds lighter. I recall they were about 19-20 pounds.
OEM Corvette C6 J55 Heavy Duty one-piece rotors weigh about 22 lbs. In a nutshell, it sounds like the Girodisk (is that actually a type of sandwich?) rotors are lighter and more finely constructed. I'm not surprised. That's American versus Australian engineering and manufacturing for you. The 'muricans producin' stuff of the finest quality, & the ozzies producing substantial, no foolin' around products.
Do you have to replace with 2 piece set rotors or can you change it from two piece set to 1 piece set. Only reason why I’m asking is becuase there is a huge price difference
@@knsbrakes608 right but the bmws don’t come with 2 piece irons and i thought in vid it was said the disc would fit oem hats? Which I assumed would only be the ccb hats, that’s why I was a lil confused
@@tauzins I see. We were not clear - these are for a 6th Gen SS 1LE Camaro. They are iron brakes. i am not sure what BMW you are referring to though. Generally the iron and CCB rotors are not interchangeable. CCB's are supposed to be larger by design to maintain brake capacity.
This dude is insanely under rated

What type of hardware do they come with? TTY bolts or other? Can they be safety wired?
Nice vid Ken!!

Hardware - We use a Grade 12.9 flanged HHCS and a NAS M6x1 high temperature self locking nut. They are 1-time use and do not require safety wire.

If someone would make it you could -= but that is not so easy. Casting is expensive to tool.
so curious, does this fit the CCB hats? i cant seem to get clear info on if i can run the girodisc on the stock ccb hats.
These are for the iron brakes. For CCB's you can go OEM ceramic discs, or do the full Iron conversion.

This guy is hilarious
Didn't mention the kangaroo paw technology venting on those dba rotors
The Camaro/Corvette DBA rotors are curved vane.
Surface Transforms for the win. Steel is just too heavy.
Rotors are made of iron. Hats are aluminum unless they have to function as a park brake drum as well.
