- Hello, this is Jmh Walker. Today, I walked around Gireum Station in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. This is a redevelopment area where old buildings are deteriorating and no one is currently living there in order to build new buildings.

과거 어마어마한곳
80년대 인근 초등학교 다닐 적 같은 반 친한 친구네 집에 자주 놀러갔는데 바로 저동네였음.
한여름 무더위에는 이쁜 누나들이 브레지어 바람으로 빨래하고 씻는 게 일상이었지.
나중에 알게된 게 학교 학부모 중에 미아리에서 포주하는 케이스가 많았음. 친구 아버지도 그랬고..
한학급 60명. 오전,오후반 있던 시절이라 엄청나게 많은 사람들이 저 동네 살았던 기억이 나네.
고등학교 때 길음역에서 지하철 타고 다녔는데 종암사거리에서 길음역까지 최단거리 직선경로가 25:23 저길이라 지금도 눈에 선하구만. 중간중간 포차에서 우동도 먹고 다녔는데.. 추억돋는다.

Miari existed when I lived in Seoul, although I never saw or heard of it then. I love these old places, even though the whole thing is sad. Will there be any regrets when Seoul's character from the 19th century is gone? Your video will be good to look at years from now, when these quaint, brick buildings are gone, so I thank you for your diligence in making this visual record.
It is very ominous to see many tall, new apartment buildings behind this doomed neighborhood throughout the video...

It's very sad that this place is disappearing and the buildings of the past are disappearing, so I'm trying to leave a lot of videos.
I am in Seoul in one month. This is the kind of area i would like to take photos in, you think that will be ok ?. I noticed some security guards. Are there any other areas like this in Seoul ?. Thank you, was a really interesting video. 🙂

재개발 지역입니다 좀 있으면 철거되고 비싼 아파트 들어오겠죠 한채에 20억 하는 아파트가 들어옵니다 돈 없는 젊은이와 가난한 서민은 더욱더 먼 지역으로 밀려납니다 한국의 문제점은 저런 지역은 철거되고 비싼 고급아파트가 들어온다는 거죠 저기에 공공임가 들어오면 좋은 데 그 지역사람들은 공공임대 결사반대합니다 지역 집값 떨어진다고

누구를 위한 개발일까? 이 나라는 망하는게 맞다
재개발하면 제발 아파트만 짓지 마라 무슨 아파트가 15억-20억하냐? 아파트 한채가 20억한다는 것이 말이 되냐 공공임대 만들자 집없는 서민도 좀 살자!
