I feel like this video was about someone with a broken heart, that started spiraling down a dangerous path in life, but ultimately they realize that they are in control of there own actions and decided to take hold of their life again. Becoming stronger and escaping that dangerous path they were on. The long drive and being stuck in that coffin, then he breaks out, takes control of the car and burns the coffin. Make sense anyone?
I disagree the song is about death in order for us to move on to the next chapter we must kill the older version of ourselves listen to the lyrics “I am the escape to something that’s worst I am the man driving the Hearse” he escaped the hearse where he was supposed to die & be reborn but instead he escaped the Hearse to something that’s worst in the end of the video where he’s putting the eye drops in & you can see the grim reaper in his eyes it’s inside of him you cant escape it bc it’s always with you you can’t run from death no matter how hard you try it in this sense he’s running from change on an interview he stated that it was mostly conversation between his demons & himself the grim reaper & his natural self the love part is in reference to self love that we’re all supposed to have but as he’s talking to hisself he’s saying I’m the man we both can’t stand what does it feel like to have self love the dirt on his hands can be reference to religion the dirt on your hand meaning sins washing out his sins is a faith he gave up as stated in his previous song cringe.

If you add the context of his Christian background (not being allowed to listen to secular music until he was a teenager, touring with his parent's ministry, and then leaving that lifestyle. He knows he's heading in the wrong direction but it's just who he is. He can't go back now. They have to sink down to him and his secular ways because he didn't fit in that lifestyle. He had to kill his old self probably in an attempt to be free of the guilt. My opinion anyway. I've been in a similar situation.
