This movie topped scream 6 as my favorite horror movie of the year. New setting, great sequences, I liked the characters, good performances especially the mother she was amazing, I thought it was scary, great gore not as gory as the 2013 remake but it’s more disgusting, it had stakes when it involved children in a franchise where it’s victims are made to suffer and a good final girl who came out well intact. The cheese grater scene definitely made me physically cringe when I saw it rip off her skin. Oooo bitch when that final deadite came onto the screen the fusion I was like omg wtf is that.
I love the Scream franchise. Especially the 6th film, which might be my favorite sequel in the franchise. But I have to agree with you here. At least the stakes were higher in Evil Dead Rise because the way Scream is starting to treat their main characters is giving "Walking Dead' plot armor.

Chainsaws have been a part of the Evil Dead movies since the very first 1981 film. The franchise started as a cult classic from the 80s with a lot of violence and gore which I'm sure is quite apparent by now. Bruce Campbell who was the protagonist of the first 3 movies is still involved with a lot of these evil dead movies and projects including the recent evil dead video game. One of my favorite scenes is from Evil Dead 2 where he has to cut off his own possessed hand with a chainsaw. The 2 arm amputations in the 2013 remake were sort of a nod to that scene. The older films had a very small budget but there is something really endearing about how they built this success out of very little and created their own evil dead universe that continues to entertain people till this day. Fun easter egg, Bruce has a small cameo in this film where he can be heard on the first record in the church congregation. He is the one saying "Destroy it! It's called the book of the dead for a reason!"
I saw some people say you should react to Vikings, it’s honestly amazing the costumes dialog, and it’s pretty historically accurate I believe so a plus while being super entertaining starring Travis Fimmel as our beloved Ragnar Lodbrok, 😍 talk about making me feel how I did when I first seen Edward in twilight but like 20X better sis. The opening is cool when you know that type of camera movement was done with a 2x4 and a dirt bike. This movie basically fixed everything i didnt like about 2013..which already was a great entry as well..but they really amped it up. Love ot
