Visiting Alton Towers in DECEMBER?!

- We visited Alton Towers at Christmas to ride all the rides on offer at the event such as Spinball Whizzer and Gangsta Granny - sadly The Smiler and Wickerman are not open.. and neithers Nemesis. But we managed to see some Nemesis construction from the car parks!! We check out all the decorations and all the new things for the event, and to be honest it was just a wholesome day! Enjoy!

I agree, the Christmas lineup for Alton Towers' theme park is rather solid! Mostly appeals to the younger guys/gals/other (especially considering that CBeebies Land exists), much like Chessington does, but I will say that Spinball Whizzer is probably the biggest highlight for grown-ups like you or me (provided they aren't too tall).
All of Mutiny Bay deserves a special mention too, and the event can give a good excuse to give that Gangsta Granny thing a try if they haven't in the main season (granted, people who are 1.4m or over would mostly wanna go on the Secret Weapons, but still).
I can't see myself going though, because it's too far from where I live, and the lineup would not be enough to warrant 5-6 hours of my dad's driving in one day. I'd rather do a hotel stay in the main season, two days of park action and all 18 holes of the Extraordinary Golf course to close out the first day. Heavily considering that plan for when Nemesis re-opens.
