Watching this race a 2nd time. I've watched 2016 - 2018, and now I'm watching the 2017 series start to finish, but there is nothing like Le Mans! My favorite part is night racing. Going around the curves with the onboard cameras is mesmerizing and relaxing. The 24 h of Daytona just doesn't compare, though I've watched 4 of them. I've just discovered endurance racing, and I love it!
That is awesome ! Thank you so much ! May I ask if it's possible to upload races without any commentary please and have an option to disable it during live streams ? Cause I enjoy the sound of the cars and I can sort of understand what's happening.
Toyota cannot stand any competition. In 2018 they finally won, having no real rivals in manufacturers class. On the other hand, I think they deserved it, having come so close to it in the previous races. I just wish there were more hard-fought races. Thanks
Don’t remember when Audi won most of their Le Mans by themselves? Honestly, your comment sounds so salty. And anyway, Porsche, Peugeot, Cadillac and Ferrari are coming back this year… good to see some competition again
Thank you FIAWEC!! The whole race in superb quality. Does anyone know who the commentators are during the first hour? Alan McNish is unmistakable but the others?

@@richardg6983 I'm watching the 2017 season now (new fan of endurance racing), and I was thinking the same thing about the Gulf Porsche. So far this season (2017), they've been in the wrong place at the wrong time. But yeah, the ways Bykolles find to retire their car can only be entertaining, because it's too sorry to think about any other way. I don't remember how they did it in this race though. I watched this once a few months ago.
I hope that with the new hypercars will be more easy to distinguish one of another, you only can see the Porsche and Toyota, and lmp2 all of them looks the same, that makes GTE pro more interesting to watch actually

Streamed without a paywall! It only makes sense to the sponsors. I think racing series lose money by streaming their races via broadcasters that require a paid subscription (i.e., NBC Sports). I simply won't watch them. When I watch freely streamed races, I bet I get branding hits a thousand times a minute! That's a fair deal to me. Racing series need viewers far more than viewers need racing series. Look at IMSA in the US. They get it. Their races are broadcast live behind an NBC Sports paywall, but they post them free the following Thursday. I'm a huge fan of IMSA, and I'm really into WEC too since they do something similar (though the delay is a lot longer). F1? WRC? Indycar? Forget it! I'm not paying different subscription services for different series that give me "packages" of content that I don't want and will never watch. I'm content here :)
I’ve got a question for you guys. I never watched WEC before now, but I do know that LMP1 used to be a lot more packed out with Peugeot, Audi, and Nissan. What happened?
@@mikeraymond8614 I've been assuming (for no valid reason) that the hybrid systems were too complex and expensive for anyone but the big manufacturers to afford. Was it specifically the hybrid systems, or expenses in general? Did Porsche and Audi both pull out because of expense? I've been wondering, because they were great competition, and when Toyota finally won, they won against themselves. I felt so sad for them, even in their victory. They woulda-coulda-shoulda won every year if only..., but they needed more races to establish reliability. The worst anyone could say about them is that they gave good competition to the others when they weren't suffering their growing pains, and eventually the worst luck of any LMP1 team.
I like RLM too, but we get Allan McNish! Everything else is secondary. He reminds me of Jackie Stewart as a commentator, and not because he's a retired Scottish racer. He has an extremely keen eye and a way of explaining the detailed technical stuff. He's never afraid to speak up when one of his colleagues says something stupid, and I appreciate that.
@@richardg6983 Honda has a huge racing market in the US. In IMSA, Honda is marketed in racing as Acura because Acura is their more up-market brand in the US. Team Penske races Acuras in IMSA (with Honda factory support, I believe), though they're really a prototype chassis (maybe Dallara?) with a Honda engine and gearbox. (It's Penske. They win.) IMSA's GTDaytona class also features several GT3 versions of Acura street cars. That's what Katherine Legge drove (very, very well) this past year. Since Honda is worldwide, I imagine cars labeled as Acura or Honda run in a lot of GT3 series. Honda is also by far the most popular engine in Indycar racing, the only alternative being Chevy.
