as someone who deals with light sensitivity and migraines a lot, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for that black, 50% opacity circle on your welding. it means the world to me
@Ronny Pamper Thank you for your reply... I'm from Sweden... The Swedish word for an axe like that is "bila", pronounces, hm, "beela" and had one purpose and one purpose only...Chop of heads 😁
I love watching you work thank you so much for covering the welding lights for us that have seizure's this is very sweet and kind I love your work and I believe you have shown me my passion of restorations of rusted items. thanks again and god bless you and your family.
@@AwesomeRestorations I would rather see you just make something instead of polluting the legitimate resto vids. Rusty sheet metal posing as a weapon is not genuine.
Another awesome restoration friend. I’m going with pig dispatcher or it was used to separate large pieces of meat. The blade looked worn down some closer to butt of the handle leads me to think it has cut som hard stuff in it’s time. Started restoring an old draw shave yesterday. Great video as always friend. 👍👍
Martin, I don't miss any of your videos. I really like how carefully you work. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is the first time you've shown forging? It would be interesting to see your other "forged" projects.
You are a true artisan of your craft! I can picture our old ancestors using the gigantic ax on their own farms some hundreds of years ago! Great work brother! 🙌🏼⚔️
As someone who has epilepsy thank you so very much for using the blackouts Circle for your welding parts of your video. There are some restoration channels out there that aren’t that considerate
🤣 I love how most people here seem to think this was some centuries old axe, looks like something I would have made as a teen because I was board from a piece of extra metal laying around. IE the stick welded attach point and screws. Although props for taking someone’s toy and turning it into the real thing!
Right you are ! I don't know why people believe that it would be centuries old, when nothing points to that. People probably believe, that if it's nordic, or from Northern Sweden, it must be some remnant from the medieval ages. When everybody should see clearly, that it's a fairly new "axe", made especially to look like that, left out in the elements for a while, to rust and to look old and battered. I wouldn't be surprised if Martin built it himself and then left it out to rust for a few months or so. Definitely not "RARE", I'm sure it's the only one, made especially for this video.
Realmente, para se conseguir essa perfeição ,precisa de paciência e muita dedicação.Você tem essas qualidades de sobra.Parabéns.Suas restaurações são impecáveis.
You never disappoint me, every new video has a better production (thank you for all the details), and every restoration is a piece of art! keep that great job! saludos desde Mexico!
This might be my favourite video you have produced!! What a fantastic project and what a result. No doubt their is plenty of work that goes on we don’t see on camera, I always come away thinking I can do what you do, gives me confidence to have a go…. Now if I just had a workshop!!
Great video sir! My guess is that it was for chopping something rather soft, as I think that hitting anything hard would put a lot of shear stress on the rivets.
You got scammed bro. Those are modern welds holding the tang onto the blade. That thing was made new probably in the last 10 years and then intentionally rusted to make it look old.
Aweeeeeeeeesome ...... I have only one addiction in my life and that is Your channel. I guess this Axe is used for protection from wild animals and for chopping meat (pork , beef, etc)
Why don’t you make a video on what your workspace looks like, with a brief explanation about all your machinery if needed? It’ll be really nice to have an e-tour of your workspace 😊
We love your videos not because of the restoration, we know your capabilities in doing that. The reason is how you make it step by step easy to follow and understand. Thank you for this and God bless.
every time I come to channel, get something wonderful out of it. Except that one time, where you needed an break bar and an pipe to crack an nut from an bolt. Still got the job done. But, that was then, this is meow. I'm glad I watched this Norse stuff, is awesome and seeing one restore was the best eye candy to watch. I am envious of your skills and knowledge. A master of your skills. Outstanding again. Don't think it was a weapon of war, more of a tool on the farm for the heavy work of the slaughter.
Love the channel and appreciate the thought by shielding the welding for those of us who suffer with epilepsy. Just can't wait for the next restoration.
It looks like finishing axe for log cabin outer walls. The curved handle helps doing the job and the blade needs to flippable to other side. This is not a restoration job for it is not usable for its original purpose, but it is a decoration. Nice video! Thank you.
Always love watching your videos. Beers on me if I get to visit Sweden. Good excuse to visit a country I haven’t been to yet. If you visit Florida then beers on me.
It came out verry cool looking, liked it. And using an anvil on top of a Ikea step is a new one for me. Because I would like to see much more video's of your work,I would ask you never to put down a grinder with the blade down on the workbench ever again! Cheers.

It is a good old "headchopper". Big thanks for this awsome video!!
The welding makes it a modern tool. Probably an axe for some hunters or butchery
@Ronny Pamper If you click on the downward arrow under the video he says what it was used for, and more information about the item.
