The club bought one at the Gig and I didn’t think I was gonna like it because they pulled the guts out of an acoustic piano and replaced it with the Nord Piano 5, but I absolutely love it.
I was about to get a Piano 5, but the action was a deal-breaker. Instead decided to go with a CP88, which I'm happy with. I do a lot of solo/duo gigs where I'm doing left-hand bass, so the weight of the bottom end is very comfortable for me. The Piano 5 is still amazing though!
Very good question that I would also like to hear a response to. I believe that reviewing any piano without starting with the action (and the comparison to other pianos in its class) is wrong. Action is very important - everything else can come from a computer (VSTs).
If you need a piano just to play at home, I suggest you get a Kawai CN or CA line. Their action and sounds are fantastic. These are stage pianos, you can´t put a high-quality action in them becase of weight concerns. I have the Nord Piano 5 and and the Roland RD2000, both stage pianos. The action on the Roland is vastly superior, but it weighs 20 pounds more, so carrying it around is cumbersome. Sound wise, the Nord is ready out of the box, the RD2000 needs some tweaking, but with the new German Concert expansion its expressiveness has improved a lot, and it's half the price of the Nord. The keybed on the Nord is platic and noisier, but it responds well, of course, you're paying for it beign handmade in Europe, the quality of their piano samples and direct controls.
lots of posotive reviews about this video, but I'm 5 or 6 minutes in and still not a WORD about the piano itslef, not. aword, suggest you skip the first 6 minutes, I'm giving up on it
Love your videos. Keep up the good job.

We did that to our Nord piano 5 just last week. It’s like having the best of both worlds!

What did you not like about the action?
The CP88 has a great key action but the strings/pads are boring and a dealbreaker for me
@@JosephAkins the keys are barely weighted compared to the CP
@@thenetworkmystery Thank you.
Hi! Do you know if you can add more sounds to Yamaha cp88?
Perhaps you should have rethought the YAMAHA T-shirt on the the guy doing the demonstration....?
Why ? Yamahas are awesome too😂
How would you describe the action?

So nobody’s gonna even mention he’s playing the Nord in a Yamaha shirt 😂
Sad comment
So ? Yamahas are awesome too 😂
It’s so hard to justify this at $3500. It’s an amazing instrument, but the competition is so close…
I bought all 6 of my Nords used
Every time I see these two guys faces on a demo,it’s a clue for me to not watch video.
