Love the honesty….. every single person who loves poker and wants to go pro full time will should watch these last couple weeks for you and be real about how they would handle it.
Sam: "They always have it."
Also Sam: "I don't believe them, so I throw in the call."
This does make me laugh. Especially because I use his video about playing at a casino for the first time as a way to help my gameplay. I don’t know why he isn’t doing the same.
This guy looks like he is about to start a Gofundme page.
Whenever I start having a downswing I always aim to revert back to what I call my tough solid style. Not tight, but just solid AF poker with no spew, minimise flips etc. It always works. GL Sam you will easily start winning again soon
I think that’s good advice. Just ABC poker to minimize the variance.
Thanks!
Downswing averted, thanks buddy!
Seeing you lose at 1/3 makes these vlogs more relatable
I related to the fish going all in with KK for 20X the pot only to be Called off by the one hand that he beats
@@Nosirt You call him a fish, I call it an exploit against a calling station
@@seaweasel3973bingo! He’s gotta start making better decisions. Most low stakes players play with their hands open with their bet sizing. I’d consider watching some hungry horse videos they help me a ton!
Sam, don't despair. You are an AWESOME bartender & chips of ice will be FLYING!! ❤
(Commented for the algorithm.)
This guy looks like he is about to start a Gofundme page.
Pocket 9s 3 way all in hand is the type of hand that makes you rethink your life choices. Keep grinding man, 2m will come sooner than we think!
Lmfao! "Way to strong of a hand to fold in a 3 way all in" 😂😂
LJ jams for 50bb over a 12.5x open in a 1/3 game.
Sam: The way I look at it, we've only got 10bb here, YOLO!!
@stevecelino8354
OK I was confused at first aswell but when you see LJ turn over A5o the spot makes a lot more sense.
Obviously that guy is a complete maniac and if the other player is aware of that he can be Iso raising with something like ATo
Obviously you run into all the overpairs as well. But it's not insane unlikely you get it in good if you have a good read on the ISO raiser.
Obviously if you want to follow game theory it's a snap fold
Painful to watch, KQ into AK twice, you finally cooler AQ with AK like twice and still lose both times, you catch a glimpse of hope with the set of 9’s on the turn with Greg and still get outdrawn. Stay strong, this content is awesome I love the transparency 👍🏼
That's not cooler situation, that's not going with you gut and thinking you top pair is good. You gotts play the player and his older sizing snf not your cards
This is awesome Sam, you’re getting so big now that some people wanna to see you fail. Keep up the hard work man, make sure the haters keep coming back every week and leaving disappointed!
Very entertaining content Sam. I hope the luck turns around and you hit a massive upswing. Keep grinding bro!
keep up the poker grind, you will crush it soon and those videos are the necessary steps towards the goal, love the content!
Top notch content again and as always hope you start getting more well deserved traction and recognition. Another good new channel out there is Aero Innovations.
I've always thought this channel was underrated. Gotta get Sam on a Lodge Stream
My brother in Christ I need you to take your own advice. I started watching after seeing your first time going to a casino video. I watched you fold ace king multiple times and play the tightest poker imaginable, all because you said that’s what you have to do at these stakes.
Tough start Sam, not sure why everyone in the comments thinks youre some random no name taking a shot a poker... but you got this. One thing ill say tho is that 1/3 plays nothing like the games youve been playing recently at the end of the 100k challenge. might have to start making some egregious exploits
Really enjoying watching this downswing. Now I know others can run as bad as me lol
Holy cow buddy! 😂 you make my 3k downswing feel like it’s nothing 😭
Love the video anyhow! Keep it up
“Gonna go downstairs and rail the fuck outta our friend Greg” what a homie
Damn that nines hand was fucking brutal. Your a good player Sam. Get your mind right when you play. People will hammer you if they perceive your energy is low. Don't forget, pokers easy!
Thanks for your video. I like that your truthful.
I lived in Calgary for a number of years. Poker there is just different 🤣
YOU’RE NOT RUNNING BAD. YOU’RE PLAYING BAD POKER.
He's running into coolers as well.
fr it's 1/3...literally on the first hand shown, you're trying to iso with 43ss and 4 other players behind? You're holding up a sign that says "please 3-bet me" while holding a middling speculative hand at best...and you called the three-bet on top of that?!
Yes, you flopped a good draw, but when you're going to be fit or fold most flops with that hand anyway, why are you charging yourself more to see one? Like what's your plan here post-flop when you don't flop a draw? Try and bluff off a population that doesn't typically fold when btn 3-bets you and you're OOP? Check-fold?
Ask him a poker theory question if you know any and let’s see if he can answer it
Go back to bartending and play 1/3. Solid and tight. Get back to the fundamentals. Clear your mind. Climb out the right way.
Ps, love the rpg style music. Reminds me of some final fantasy boss stuff.
20:46 Guy spikes the wheel on the river to bust your set. Damn bro, even I felt that one.
It can always get worse 😆
It can for sure, but he needs a few days break to chill out.. when tour playing to catch up on losses is hard. It nakes you bit take chances alot of chances he used to to..
Dude loving all the railing Greg talk
Pocket Aces = "American Airlines"
Pocket Aces that get cracked = "Aerolinas Argentinas"
Pocket Kings = "The cowboys"
Pocket Kings that get cracked = "The Dallas Cowboys"
Pocket Queens = "The ladies"
Pocket Queens that get cracked = "Hillary and Chelsea"
Keep up the grind Sam you got this 📈
99 fold, KQ fold, K4 Fold, JJ check river. These are all self-inflicted wounds, ppl are just not bluffing at these stakes as much as you think.
Go to Cowboys next time in you're Calgary. It's downtown. Great cash games there. Deerfoot's pretty good too though.
Fell ya man. I would take a break, clear your head, and then play a game you know you can beat, even if it’s a tiny game for now, to build momentum.
I come for the poker but stay for the music
This episode was super raw, gritty and dirty. Felt very realistic almost fill your financial struggle even though I know your financially sound. Sucks to live like the rest of us for a little bit though, huh?
You are feeling sorry for yourself at this point, you say things like "I am going to play tight" and then describe spots where you are spewing. You have this self-fulfilling prophecy here basically just thinking you are going to lose before you even sit down. You need to focus on your mental game and just try to make the correct choices. You're a good player, you will figure it out.
When you're watching a poker vlog with less than 20k views, just remember that anyone can make a poker vlog.
What channel is yours on?
Love that you are putting it all out there! I think throughout there were a lot of fold spots unfortunately it didn’t happen, if someone raises to 125 and a fish jams for 500-600 they have aces, kings maybe queens I would just fold so your not taking big variance flips, your there to make money not gamble by flipping (I could be mistaken), good luck!
Ik you’ve been around the block but I wanna echo what some other folks have said. Just hop in 1/3 and play abc, avoid preflop all ins without qq+ and marginal spots post flop. Ull print
The poker is pretty wild in Calgary btw
That past few years of me paying poker is this ,long story short. I'll have a many great sessions and then a huge session. Then there is the one session where I have KK VS AA lose, buy in again. Flop a set and get rivered by a flush. Etc all in one night. I'll be up 5 or 6 k and then late it on a few sessions by bad beats. Trust me I FEEL YOU!! I'm really good at poker but I can't control it
That's where bankroll management and mental health maintenance really come into play!
@toddfromwork8931 that's for sure . I'll go in huge runs buy in 1500 and leave with 4500 or more a few times and then the poker gods hate me
Taking some time off to go drive a truck again to stack back up and start over, I even moved out of my apartment and I’ll be living out of my truck for a while, then I’ll be back to poker with a massive bankroll!
gave up your livelihood to play poker real degeneracy just wow. I hope you have an upswing because you’re gonna need it
@@Legend_YT-sv1th why are you here?
@@LightsOut999 Yeah I don't understand that either. There's a bunch of em in here. Btw good luck with stepping away. Don't forget to keep studying the game while you're away from the table! Seriously, it's important. You have to stay sharp
This was painful to watch😢
But the good news is it will turn around and hopefully when the run good comes your way youll be able to maximize those profits!
Good God brother, get yourself a proper bankroll and play some reasonable stakes for that bankroll. 100 buy ins is a fairly standard bankroll for tournaments, so in what world does firing in $400 and $1,000 tournaments make sense? In a world where variance doesn't exist for you? Cash games are more reasonable, but even then you know ~40 buy ins is reasonable.
Your poker bankroll is your highest return on investment asset and honestly it was a huge mistake to put all of that money into long-term investments. As long as there is a stake to move up to and our bankroll is not big enough to play it yet, the money will make more if it sits in your bankroll and allows you to play poker than if it is in the market. And now you compound that with borrowing at a very high interest rate which is outpacing your investment return? I feel for you man. But I think you can figure out a way to get out of this self-inflicted torture.
My favorite poker streamer. See you at the top
oh Sam my heart is bleeding for you man, really wanna see you turn this around
At 34 minutes. It is so nice to see you give a bad beat w the 7's. Weird how dry that has been when we should've seen it about 30% of the time
30:12 Jaman Burton Voldemort vibes 🤣🤣
This guy can’t believe people are 3 betting him after raising k4 and being generally super LAG. Go figure.
You are trying to cash flow poker and you’re dropping $1300 a day in tournaments. What is wrong with you?
it's always alright to take some time off of poker, clear your mind and just work a job - it's boring in perspective just going to work but at least there's no risk of losing so much in a day. take your time
Sam: Gee whiz, I sure do love poker, I hope I make some new frens in Calgary ☺
Alberta: We don't take kindly to you BC boys out this way
It's the stash grow it back buddy lol great vlog keep at it don't lose hope it's just a down swing it will pass
1/3 live cash is brutal. there is no getting people to fold, there is nothing other than value with nutty
Tighten up your ranges, your comment shouldn’t be a complaint it should be embraced. As long as I size my bets well enough they never fold…
JThh: I don't understand "I have the nuts, and he can't have anything too strong, so I am going all in."
Was fun playing heads up with u on clubgg brother
I think doing a 100k - 2million challenge is better🎉!
It's almost impossible to do this challenge.. anything can be done but the odds of this is 2.3% small 😆 🤣
it is crazy to try to catch bluffs on these low stakes game.
and not very smart either to go all in preflop so many times when you know you are in downswing.
just take a break and play tighter.
Good story/content. Viewer retention should be v good. GL
As long as you keep playing your A game just keep the grind going! GL
this "A" game?
You’re a great player man who’s running bad
I think you really overcall, and at those stakes people Severely underbluff. The KQ hand calling a check raise 50 to 150. AK should pretty much be the bottom of his check raise value range, he only has sets, or two pair, esp at those stakes. Calling with kq, no real drawnis pretty much asking to get stacked.
I think the key is to overfold, even when you think your hands okay, its just mediocre and loses to the opponents value most of the time.
losing player? playing on credit? no job? OMFG like and subscribe! RUclips send this vlogger some $ $ $
You could always just edit the titles on each of the previous vlogs and change it from zero to negative 2 million dollar challenge. Would be a lot easier to achieve
You got it boss, downswing will end soon. Exploit those 1/3 players by folding more! Theyre all loose passive. Gl with the job search 👍
26:20 - QJo just folds to a 3bet alone, and you are even more disincentivized to put money in with a cold caller, and this play is even worse in a live setting where they don't 3bet bluff enough. Let's assume they have a proper bluff range, the queen and jack block a lot of those bluffs that can fold, and not a high enough percentage of the range that jams or calls. Suited aces or kings would be a better choice for a play like this. Folding with anything other than premium hands would be your best option,.
“Pocket 9s, dream spot” as he gets all in 3 ways for 170BBS 😂 …. Bruh
Bro is gonna finish his br challenge in like a million yrs
I was complaining about losing 70 bucks earlier With AA. Flop K,T,7 rainbow. Turn J ,river blank, guy has AQ. I dont feal so bad anymore
Hey man I would just quit poker honestly it’s depressing so many times these crazy things happen and even the best go bust and when things are going bad it’s so incredibly hard to play good. I play once in awhile and have lost last 4 sessions and each one of them I was up at least 500 and ended up leaving down 3 to 7 hundred and then I have to live with myself all week at work that is something that just isn’t worth it for me honestly so I barely play. The days of doing this for a living seem to be gone so many people know what they are doing now. One thing I can advise is to switch your play times sleep during the day then go late at night on Friday and Saturday when there may be drunk people that is the key you need to have more of an advantage with people who may do stupid things bc they are drunk
Get better, it really isn’t nice of you to tell the guy to quit chasing a dream of his.
Sam’s a beast, he can make it in poker no problem.
JEJU!!!!!!
Honest question, what happened to the 100k from the 100-100k challenge?
Yo Sam can you explain your through process for folding here other than instinct/ gut feeling? 25:30. 99 hand? I can never fold these spots.
Youre a solid cash player but man tournament variance can be brutal. Maybe focus on cash , build up your bank roll before you fire a few tournaments. Good luck man hope things turn around for you soon!
First episode I have ever seen on your channel that I said "Bad decisions." It's not the downswing, I've seen plenty, the playstyle's being affected my boy. Bluff on the turn more.
you can still do it bud
Hang in there😢
Haven't even watched the poker yet, I'm still trying to figure out why you're in lengthy stops on the freeway...especially in the summertime???
damn goats are everywhere!
I'll start the GoFundMe
you're the goat been regular cashing out 1500 on $300 buy ins on 2/3 because of you up 8k this month currently
edit: You don't need to flip with them pre man youre so much better post flop. A guy told me why take flips when you can get the money in 80% or just navigate them off you know this!!!! STOP THE FLIPSSSSSS
HAVENT WATCHED YET BUT YOU ARE THE BEST
DONT LET THE DOWNSWING GET YOU
Yeah he needs to avoid flipping. Especially considering he has the skill advantage against 99% of the 1/3 field. Gotta leave the tournament mindset in the tournaments.
Please shed some tears bro it’s ok jeje
Dude what happened to your bankroll? Last video I seen (awhile back) you were killing them in the states. Btw welcome to Calgary it is a beautiful little city.
Who is buying your action??? 🤣🤣🤣
I see you either didn't see my comments from your last 1-3 video, or you chose to ignore them. In small stakes people just take absurd lines. So if they jam on you they very likely have a better hand. The QQ hand. That's just a fold. People absolutely will do that with AA because they're afraid of being out drawn. This guy just so happened to have KK.... still beat QQ. And the other hand where you had KQ and sb jammed on you. Of course he had you beat. I'm not shocked it was AK but at the same time I am. Usually when people take this line in low stakes it's 2p.
Guy behind me 3bets me 12.5x, next guy shoves. "I'm never folding." What?
I’m worried about you bro… you’re hitting “ Frankie C “ territory… but you don’t have the Sugar Momma to back you. 😢
More like Corey eyring. A few punts in there
yeah, really like sam but i actually am concerned. does he actually have nothing to fall back on?
@@joeykim9984Sam has plenty of money, he just put it aside to do this challenge. Gotta admire the determination to not just quit when it starts this poorly
Omg 7 2 ouch 😫
Please pop your email in description so I can send some support which has no rake...
Cheers Sam.
PS: You won't remember but, I played with you in LA. You are a sweet young fellow.
When I recognized you? And asked if you were vlogging? You seemed shy & surprised.😉
Oopsie, my bad. That was "BREAKFAST' Sammy... 🤣
(He's a funny guy too tho...)
Sam, 99 are easy to fold for your whole stack in a cash game. You've got a good record so I'm not telling you what to do. I understand your thinking about only "having" 10BB but you don't. You have like 166BB. Why call off your whole stack against a near committed raise and a shove? You're only getting 2:1 with a mid pair. There are more overpairs than overcards in their range here
is railing greg how you get your bankroll?
Most RUclips pokee vloggers have not really encountered large yet natural downswings yet as they havent played enough live hands. A lot of them will probably go busto when they do as theyre not properly bank rolled.
You'll run worse than you ever thought possible.
my truck is available if you need it
Bruh this one got me
Poker is a hard way to make an easy living
I quit playing after it felt like a chore or a job. Used to enjoy playing poker but now it's just annoying and boring.
Feels weird to 'like' videos like this lol, but I hope your luck turns around!
Pocket 9s “dream spot”. Bro. 🤡
Please stay away from high bridges and tall buildings.
what clubgg r u on
If this is the worst downswing of your life be thankful. This is nothing
Cash advances with hefty fees, not good
7:50 - that's just an open fold hand, snap fold to 3bet, and never a 4bet
My man - you are running bad bc you are playing bad - at 1/2, 1/3 level - a three way all in with 99 for 150+ big blinds is never a good idea (screw the strat. logic) - at best your flipping, vast majority of the time your never ahead (and that’s heads up) with 3 people - a raise and then a reraise shove for $500 - 99 is an auto fold ….just not worth the risk - especially when your on a downswing. You must get back to conservative poker, minimize risk while digging yourself out of a hole - I’m a semi pro and make 50-55bb per hr at 1/2 and 1/3 in OK bc the player pool is soft and you can mix GTO with exploitative play after you learn player tendencies specific to individuals…. When you don’t know much about the players - then just play good solid GTO - never is 99 in that spot a good GTO call, not to mention the best explorative play is to fold bc your friend Greg raised all in for 500 - did you really think he was bluffing off his stack in that spot?
