Scott did a great job explaining all his upgrades and modifications including a water tank, shower, heater, new batteries, TV and more. He's all set up for boon docking and overland as well as for staying in a campground. Thanks for watching. I’m a Facebook friend of Scott’s in the Intech owner group. A bunch of us do mods to their trailers, but his onboard plumbing system is the gold standard for water mods. I’ve seen pics before, but it’s great to hear him explain the system. Thanks for sharing.

    Exactly. Slide-out cooktops always seemed artificial, but people really seem to love them. I'm with the man in the video, by instinct, but his point about food messes, ants, and sliders is well-taken. I see that box on the front, and maybe I'd store my stove there, or maybe just my long tools, like shovels and whatnot. That slider just takes up space.

    Great mods. I also like the way you explained how the water heater works. I added satellite radio to the trailer and have two Bose 101's for outside speakers. I was trying to come up with a outside waterproof speaker wire connector. Your use of RCA plugs inside the kitchen slide - you solved my connection problem. I ordered a soft-start capacitor for my A/C to help when I am using my Honda 2200 inverter. I will install it before I head to NM and CO in a couple of weeks.

    Bought my chase in Nov 19 man I get stopped and asked for tours, it’s crazy.
    Have you had a problem with the rear door opening as you go down a bumpy road? Happened twice to me now. Getting ready to install a double OVS 270 awning so I can delete the leaky tent. I created a shower on the road side and use a atv sprayer tank with a rv shower head.
    With all this there in no way I’d get rid of my chase love the thing.

    That is a lot of modification. I got a 22' travel trailer with separate shower and toilet, 40 gallons fresh, 30 grey and 30 black. I am planning to get rid of it and buying the Flyer Chase, so I can really take it off road. I have to compromise creature comfort for high mobility. Most importantly, no fixing, no maintenance, and nothing breaks.
    On my truck, I haul a 3000 watt generator, torque wrench, impact cordless driver, lug nut socket, small table, electric stove for cooking, George Forman electric grill, 5 gallon water, a cooler for food and drink, and Mr. Coffee. Optional carry: small air compressor for tires and a battery jumper.
    That is all I need for boon docking for a week at a time.

    The heater doesn't give off carbon monoxide?

    • @RetiredRoaming
      @RetiredRoaming  4 года назад +2

      Hi zom zom, Camco states the heater is over 99% efficient and only emits water vapor and carbon dioxide which is harmless. They also recommend venting (opening a window slightly) primarily to deal with condensation issues. The RV has a carbon monoxide detector that the heater does not set off. It has set off my smoke detector upon initial lighting but then it’s fine. I’ve used the heater many times without a problem, always properly vented to recommended specs, if not more.
