When it comes back on sale, I'm melting my 400i for the Zeus ES. I've enjoyed using the 400i as an over-sized medium daily driver, it's comfortable, wholesome and oozes presence. But beyond that, the compromises are just too much for me. And as an explorer, I was shocked to see the new, smaller Zeus ES equipped with a bigger Scanner. I mostly fly solo, so I don't even need anything as big or as expensive as a 400i/Connie/Corsair anyway, so it seems the Zeus ES just ticks all the boxes better for me anyway. I will have spare change after melting the 400i to buy something else to add to my hanagar also.

I fly the corsair as my daily atm. Great ship for single piloting. Best firepower of all "one person" crews of ALL ships. the firepower is enourmous and even it´s a "explorer" - it´s actually better than almost all combat fighters and ships as a single player. You can even take down a hammerhead all alone in less than 1 or 2 minutes with 4xS5 laser cannons. It´s just a "better" version than the cutty black with a lot more space and firepower.

People miss one main advantage of the Corsair that no other ship has.
The top turret gunner can use the missile loadout. But in a full 180 forward arc. So even shooting sideways is possible with the missiles. For this reason we usually load 3 racks of size 1 missiles and the enemy always has 1 missile annoying him.

Things I don't like about the Connie... The cockpit struts and I'm not a big fan of the belly lift.
Things I don't like about the Corsair... The asymmetric wings and it's pitiful ground clearance. (Which I assume is bad because of the gigantic wing they had to make fit in the hangars.)

I’ve been using my Corsair and Connie Taurus for ERT looting, the Taurus has more storage, an s2 tractor turret and its cargo bay makes it very easy to load in EVA.
In 3.24.1, I feel they are identical in flight, with the Corsair a little faster in boost acceleration.
The Zeus should be launched in October 2024, and I hope its design aesthetics will soon transfer to the Connies, especially the reworked interior.
The 400i is delightfully to fly, and it has slightly better pilot guns in this patch, but it’s one of my hangar queens, alongside my Carrack.

Even if they bump the Redeemer’s maneuverability up a little, it’s dead in the water. I will no longer be using one and I know I’m not the only one.

The Aquila sells it for me more than the Corsair. Yeah, the Corsair has a great amount of fire power and a well-organized sleeping/living area, along with a nice cargo and entry design. But we are also talking exploration here and what do you need when looking for stuff, being able to find/see it and the Aquila has one of the best pilot scanners in this range AND then you have that scanner turret... Conni still needs a rework/redesign, mostly thanks to engineering and fitting the size of its physical items.

Reduce the HP of any of these parts to Zero and you soft death a ship. The Cosair has a Nose, Body and Tail with 15k hp for each section. The Andromeda has all four sections with 20k hp for each section. These numbers are negligible when you put these two ships in a due do to the DPS outputs. The HP argument is moot.

what you're referring to is a radar component, which is something that every ship has. And that's what that switch controls. What I was talking about was having a dedicated piece of scanning equipment, like the scanning tower that that Aquila has, or the radar dishes that the scout, tracker or Terrapin has. So no, it doesn't have any dedicated hardware that could be used to augment or increase its scanning range. Which means that it's just like any other ship when it comes to its radar and scanning.

Fitting a Fury or Pisces up there would be an easy way to utilize space. No garage needed...just piggy-back it. You would then have room in the cargo bay for supplies and a ground vehicle. • @arrclyde4325

I have the slight feeling that people have a very different idea about "exploration" than CIG does.
Its NOT going to be a matter to look at scanner screens, discovering new planets or whole systems. For all it looks like, exploration is about to go out and actively DO stuff, like flying around and exploring. That means that any special equipment is more or less a gimmick. The Odyssey's fuel refinery, the Carrack Jump sensors and drones, all gimmicks and nice to have, but nothing that you will need to have to explore.
Besides that, the Corsair has "a szate of the art scanning suite". It just doesn't have animated atennas or a manual turret (which is jet to stay when the ship will get reworked).
Maybe people should stop fantasising about what they thing how explorarion will look like. The 100 systems we moght get in the next years are all mapped and known. Exploration will happen in detail, not in large scale of the great unknown.

Doesn't mean they won't ever allow new procedurally generated systems to become available should someone "discover" a new wormhole.

@@QuotidianStupidity well they can, AFTER they have the original 100 starsystems in game. Its not a priority. The wormhole system already gives you much to discover, such as going into a system at a totally different place. Or even connecting two systems that have no direct connection. And tbose transient jumppoints are only temporary.
But to be honest, exploration in SC will be more on a POI or deposit type of level, not on a planetary or even star system type of level. Finding valuable items will most likely require you to leave your ship, drive to some POI and get in on foot. And the simple "fly through a jumppoint, new system discovered, done" thing.
The core of exploration in SC is to go out there and stay selfsufficient for as long as possible to find something of worth. Not new worlds or systems.
Star Citizen is a NPC driven universe that is not relying on players to show up and save the day.
