    Interesting 🤔 at least we know to expect both radios to have the same amount of distance 👍

    Great video. I wish you had used the same antenna on both radios. Also, "Over" means you're expecting a response. "Out" means you intend to terminate your transmission. Oh, it's also important that your Squelch be set to the same number for such tests. These little radios can go almost forever as long as line of sight is maintained. If you have a friend who can drive ten miles away and up the side of a mountain, that would be a good test.

    Thank you very much for the test my dear. You used UHF band which is sensitive to out the line of sight and obstacles. In summer on vhf we talk to Israel with 1 watt power from Cyprus. In winter not even with 100kW is possible.

    At such short distances, I would be surprised if both of these didn't have connection.
    Now take them out, and in the open do tests at Five miles + to test the range. I can hit a repeater 31 miles away with both the radios, and get better mod reports from the Quansheng. ( Using a Nagoya 701 on both radios.)

    In a UHF band the signal is direct, but in your zone not have a good propagation😢
    Your results in a baofeng and kv-5r + 15-20km

      Quansheng UV-K5(8) you have more better Audio Quality, USB-C for Loading (yes it goes with all new Handy Loaders) and you can becomes more Firmwares for this especially you can hear from 20 Mhz to 1 Ghz in FM/AM/SSB....

      Last week i got a uv5r, tested with a friend with another uv5r, and we got 10.5 kilometers on 446 frequencies. Stock antenna, and test around 150 metres ASL

      Also i live around 7 km from a place where they do outdoor events and i can hear the private security talking on pmr channel 14 everyday, and they have motorolas limited to 0.5 w or maybe 1w idk. But i hear them at 7 km distance with the stock baofeng antenna, sometimes cristal clear audio

    • @ALIENdrifter66
      @ALIENdrifter66 7 месяцев назад +3

      PMR frequency doesn't have any range, it's a normal UHF frequency like any other. What limits PMR range is the requiremets that you have to meet in order to have a PMR radio. That is, an specific frequency range, max power of 0.5W and a fixed (non-removable) antenna with some max dBi specified.

    The obtained range is disappointing, though. I really expected better than this.
