When John Faulkner raced this car in 1996 for first time at Bathurst top ten shootout, it stated that Holden Commodore VR had a minimum weight of 1350 kg, (Approx) 580 to 600hp at 7500rpm and (Approx) 440 foot pounds of torque (that is 597Nm) at 5500rpm . I know that John Faulkner had a privateer car. I am just wondering how did his car compare in terms of power and torque to the other top competitors from 1996 to this event in 1998, which I think was near the end of it competing in the main touring car events ?
This was an ex hrt commodore. It was Brock's car that made its debut in the endurance races in 1994, converted to vr spec for Brock's atcc campaign before a new car was built. This was a very good csr for a privateer.
44.89 seconds. Set the fastest time of the day which also eclipsed the full course record set in 1993. He also claimed the Peter Janson Perpetual Trophy for fastest touring car.
Has this John Faulkner car ever done a 1/4 mile drag ? In 1997 Bathurst, 4 hours 12min in I have timed it on Pitt Straight from 131kph to 191kph in 5 seconds . I think that Pitt straight is not completely flat, so it may be a bit quicker than that. Based on this I would say it may do 0 to 100kph around 4.1 seconds, 100kph to 200kph around 6.5 seconds and around mid 11 second 1/4 mile at maybe 209kph.
Love that sound
Best sound ever.
Back when they had ateast a scrap of cred
What speed could this car get up to on this hill climb ?

You could not do that with a Stupidcar these days. You are only allowed to drive where they say. And nowhere else.
Wonder what the time was? I ran my legend up there this year

More like 10.80s at 130 not mid 11s at 130..
