I know! I have a couple of Friends that are not animal lovers! And honestly, that’s probably why we could never really connect on a really deep level because something‘s missing. They don’t have the compassion to like dogs or cats! I don’t understand that, but I grew up around animals. They did not but how can you not love the dogs? That blows my mind!
Covid tempted me to get my first dog. A little 12yo dog I loved dearly. He crossed the rainbow bridge last month. And now another little 11 month old puppy is in my life. Dogs are the best.
I know exactly how you feel. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things. I'm so glad you've found a new furry friend to love. Dogs really do have a way of healing our hearts.

Oh man, I too know how you feel as my dog also crossed the rainbow bridge (it happened like 3 years ago). Me and my family were completely devastated and haven't gotten another dog (yet, that is). We may get another doggo, but it might be a little while longer when we're ready for our companion. Oh man, dogs impact our (as in humans as a whole explanation wise) lives a lot, so much in fact that it may be indescribable. They're so caring and want the best for their families and will do anything for us, even saving our lives at the expense of their own in danger. I just sometimes wish that they were able to live almost as long as humans generally do nowadays. I know dog years are much different than humans as we get older but I sometimes feel like they still have much to live for. But that's just how life works I guess, not much we can do about that.
