At least they now got a little clue how to do it after getting sent to the shadow realms by wrestlers ground and pound all these years
Dominic considered a wrestler these days?
First off it’s more of a boxing issue they all moved into it with the heads or their whole body in the case of dom and second off if you consider Dominick Cruz a wrestler your toxic bro idc

He never won any wrestling division titles at a high level...and even if he did, and was the best wrestler in his school but not even best in county but that is considered a HIGHER level than 2 UFC titles? Dude, you're definitely on the wrong comments page....suppose Bo Nickal is more successful than Adesanya? Suppose all Demian Maias BJJ credentials meant he was more successful than Anderson Silva?
Kamaru's whole career changes based off this. No more Anderson Silva win streak. No more Canelo fight and definitely no more 205 aspirations. Tougher argument for GOAT status too. Feel for him, but Leon bided his time and kept putting in work silently as the dark horse of the division for a while. He executed when he needed to most and he deserved to win tonight. Fair play.
Too true. Usman Train got heavily derailed
Dude got Humbled, I've been saying all week, the same way he was acting to the lead up was how Woodley was acting when he Lost the belt and Kamaru was hungry, now the same thing happened to him.

For those saying Edwards got lucky landing that left leg kick perfectly on Usmans jaw, go ahead and try landing one on a professional mma fighter who has blocked thousands of leg kicks in their career both in training and in fights. "Good luck is when preparation meets opportunity." Edwards was prepared and when the opportunity showed itself, he didn't miss.
I don’t think anybody said he got lucky landing the kick. He got lucky usman got lazy and let off the peddle.
Right. Leon was setting that kick up for a while. No luck needed.
Every kick is with the leg. That is a high kick, not a leg kick.

Leon had a lot on stake too. If he lose, he would be nobody and lose all his leverage (if he has much now)
Yeah fr real, he already had a difficult tome getting a title shot with his big win streak so if he lose he prolly would've never got another chance. They would've turned him into a veteran gatekeeper that fights all the new upcomers
He’d be okay. He’d just headline a card at the O2 against Colby or Khamzat and be right back in there

Respect to both. Congrats to the new champ. I think I’m combat sports there so much emphasis on that 0 and being perfect. No one’s perfect. It takes a lot of skill AND some luck to be undefeated for so long in the UFC. As you can see, one mistake can make some fans completely forget about all the work you’ve done in your career. If you fight long enough it’s bound to happen
Usman really made this tough for himself. He’s been so cocky lately, the way he dresses and how he talks, the way he called out Canelo, and how he talked about fighting at 205. What makes this even worst is he didn’t just lose, he got knocked stiff by a guy he already beat who isn’t a big name in the division. That ko loss will be a highlighted ko forever and no matter what he does from this point it will live on. And at 35 years old I don’t know if he can come back and beat enough guys to erase that memory from peoples minds.

Khamzat vs Diaz fight is clearly the title shot fight (an amazing set up by the UFC).
Kamaru is out a year at least (and by time he comes back he’ll have to fight for the title shot) It’ll be amazing to see either Khamzat or Nate facing Edwards.

Bruh just IMAGINE somehow Nate beats Chimaev on September 10th. That would COMPLETELY ROAST ALL the plans the UFC had set in place LOL
LEON VS NATE FOR THE TITLE MID 2023
I was rooting for Leon for such a long time. He's arguably the most well rounded mma fighter in the division. But let's be totally honest here. Usman dominated that fight. And knocked out because of one second of carelessness. Let's not write him off. He's been an amazing champion. He can easily come back. Wrestle Leon to death. It's crazy to me that people are writing him off. Loses don't matter in the UFC
When u get KO'd like that it matters and makes a big difference and not only in fighting
Loses do matter cause some confidence is never the same but it’s definitely not like boxing
35 years old. He's not washed, but age catches everyone and it often catches them quickly. Might be harder for him to rebound.
Yet was almost finished by a washed Nate according to you a month ago remember

Man please. He was winning that fight but just got caught
I bet he can win the rematch
Edwards title defense will be a short one.
Wow you guys are really butthurt over this loss. Yes Usman can win the rematch if he wrestles his heart out for 25 minutes, but don't count on it. See how many Welterweights won a title at 35 years of age or older, especially coming off a KO.
It should also age well for the rematch that Leon did extremely good the first round so when they fight again there is an even better chance Leon comes out on top
Might be more of a Mental Fight next time. Who actually Believes in themselves to win. Usman might doubt himself on Standup now due to being caught CLEAN. Leon my question if he WAS the better fighter or just landed a perfect Strike. Alot of variables are going to play out on the Rematch but it will be Great I Hope.🙏
@@greennimbus2519 yeah I just meant if next time he can do what he did in the first more consistently but yeah now kamaru knows he can be knocked out so it will definitely be much more mental haha
love seeing Marty take a nap
Anyone saying he got "lucky" with that kick probably just lost money... I can't say he was "setting it up" the whole fight bc I can't prove that. All I know is about midway during the first Usman-Covington fight I swear I kept saying he's open for that kick. Colby couldn't pull it off, either fight, he tried early on but after trying Usman recognized it. Leon gave nothing away, left hand he slips it, never saw the kick coming. It was a rookie mistake tbh. But a sniper only gets one shot, make it count. He did.
The whole “lucky” thing is odd to me. They are literally fighting with the goal of knocking the dude out. I’d get it if they were swimming reckless in a scramble and something connected. But Leon fainted a jab, threw up the kick, slept usman, and didn’t even follow up with a strike when usman went down. It was a clean set up kick that landed right on the chin. No luck about it all skill
I lost at least a hundred over betting on this card and I don’t think that kick was lucky.
He threw the kick where he wanted to throw it. It landed where he wanted it / trained for it to land and it landed.
How on earth is that luck?

Usman has to wrestle for 25 minutes to win a rematch. The stand up battle was not as close as it seemed. Leon was smart to let him feel comfortable on the feet, while not taking any damage

Cormier saying Usman deserves an immediate rematch because of his dominance and yet he didn't do that for Stipe. Joke
"Dominant" in Heavyweight means very little. 3 defenses being the record there isn't saying much. Usman had defended 5 times in a row. Besides, Stipe takes forever between fights and Derick Lewis was on a big win streak and had earned it.
@@Dukeflyhawker he's defended it 5 times but only fought 3 guys, i keep hearing how he's "lapped the division" but only has fought 4 out of the top 10 guys. He did great in those fights but he wasnt dominant with everyone, both colby fights were super competitive, burns had him hurt and rocked, he did dominate masvidal but he doesnt hold a candle to what gsp, silva and jones did. They truly cleared out the division
@@scottmichael7178 yes, I agree with everything you said, but 5 defenses is still rare company and is enough for an automatic rematch
@@Dukeflyhawker yes it is, and im not taking anything away from that, obviosly one of the best ww to this day, idk, just my opinion but i think he should fight chimaev(granted he wins against nate) and the winner fights leon, but i can see why giving him an immediate rematch would be fair. @@scottmichael7178 to be honest, I hate automatic rematches. A recap of Daniels commentary. “Edwards is done, Edwards ain’t trying, Edwards is looking to just finish on his feet, Edwards is just looking for a moral….. BOOM…..We all knew Edwards had unique skills to pull this off”.
I mean it was kind of lucky but sometimes you need luck. In the first round, Edwards looks great. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, look terrible for Edwards. Sometimes you need a lucky kick. If he can use his size he will be the best, if not he will lose again which I predict. I bet the rematch will go down to a decision and Usman will win. So yet nobody wins.
Rematch will sell more now
He beat the fence grabbing, fake low blow calling cheater 🔥🔥🔥
Usman took very large breaks between his title defense. But now he lost he will quickly fight. That is very selfish. I think he should fight winner of nate vs khamzat first. Edward is the new king now. Let him enjoy his glory.
