AAWireless DPI Settings - Enable Split Screen on Unsupported Vehicles

- In this video, I show how with AAWireless you are able to change the DPI settings to enable the Android Auto split screen feature that is only available on widescreen headsets. This works on vehicles that are otherwise unsupported for this feature by changing the DPI settings to "trick" Android Auto into enabling split screen mode.

Looks like a Ford Escape. I have a 2017 and just started using Android Auto.
I can't believe how dumb I was and never installed it and used it !
When I got my 17 new I thought the Sync 3 with Navigation would be the best.
WAS I WRONG !
It never was able to "find an Intersection" for me, and 50% of the time could not get an address right with the voice command, and I hated it all along and wished I never wasted the money on it and a Garmin would have been 10 times better.
Don't know why I never used Android Auto but I guess I figured I spent the money on the built in system, so it better work like it should. It beat me so bad, frustrated me, and I gave up on it and never used it. I went back to the old way of looking online at a map, writing down directions, then heading out.
Android Auto is like having a whole new System !
Is there a way to have different screen options? What about having the phone and music on at the same time but not the map?
So will i get rid of split screen on my 10.25 inch unit using the dpi?

Android Auto usually uses Bluetooth for audio always. Even when wired, it just sends data over the cable and audio over Bluetooth. With the AA Wireless dongle it does the same, but data is sent over wifi using the AA Wireless dongle and audio over Bluetooth.
I got my AA today on my 8" Ford Fiesta and tested "just blind shot" 100.. and it was straight looking Great.. After that i tested 200 and it went back to standard. So i went again to 100. Now i see even you are only on 103 so i am quiet close.
Just discovered this today on accident by messing with the dpi settings. I was hoping maybe there were more cool options, but it seems like split screen is about it.
can you do this on cars that don't have wireless android auto? i have a 2020 hyundai tucson so i have to plug in for the maps/android auto
As long as the car has wired Android Auto, yes.
Hmm thats not how split screen looks normally. Theres a three way split on the split screen view normally. You get an extra menu icon that transitions between full and split.
Does it work in dodge ram 2017 factory android auto and android mobiles ( Samsung Note 10 plus)?
Yes, it is supposed to work on any Android Auto car headunits, i have a AAWireless and a 2019 VW Golf, works flawlessly with or without dpi settings

My Change DPI will not open. Do you know of anyway to fix that?
Did you try it while connected to the car? The settings won't open otherwise.
@@markfll yes, sure did. I can open other settings. But not the change DPI
I have a 10.5 inch screen on my 2023 Kia and I can't get any Dpi to change it to split screen.
In my KIA Niro 2023, same screen size, I got it with 1280x720 and 165 DPI
@@LuisGonzalez-tz1wb I returned it to Amazon so I bought it again to try this. I hope it works. What made you try 165? Were you just trying random numbers and it worked?
@@LuisGonzalez-tz1wb Does your split screen take up the whole screen or is 1/3 of it still not used? I can get split screen now but the last third of the screen isn't used.
@@theBtotheJ23 Yes, if you configure in the car that Android Auto will use the whole screen (under projection settings)
@@theBtotheJ23 Tried different values. Figures within 100 and 165 triggered split screen. 165 showed bigger font size.
