So the new DDR mix is supposed to appeal to the anime and J-pop crowd? Too many squeaky voice anime girl songs.. Not enough focus on Konami originals.. Konami made a mistake getting Naoki and Jun to quit, they were the heart and soul of DDR!

I heard that DDR A is going to be released this year in the Americas. I really hope we can get it this year, it has been too long since I got on a dance mat. We kinda lost our PS2 in a fire and the PS4 isn't backwards compatible, soooo....
I'm not kidding you. The last major home release that stayed true to it's roots was DDR X. (That was on PS2) There was a few spin-offs made for just America and Europe and some for Asia, but they didn't take off. X2, X3, 2013 (Both editions), and A are arcade only releases. A is the first one to reach the United States since X. Be thankful for the trials they did at Dave & Buster's in the United States or we wouldn't even have this release!

As someone who played most the series as U.S. console releases (PS2, soft pad), I have noticed a few differences. For instance, Dazzle was in SN2 and Why Not, Bloody Tears, and Blind Justice were in X. Is that a difference between arcade and console editions or does it have to do with the region?
For the case of dazzle it actually debuted first on Supernova2 US CS(though its first arcade debut is on X), but for all the other songs typically most songs debut in arcade releases first before coming before home versions (hence why bloody tears and why not are in the SN2 folder instead of X)

DDR 6th Mix shoulda carried over DDR 3rd, 4th, & 5th Mix songs on it b4 removin' them all together but yea after 5th Mix, they removed alot of songs from DDR 3rd-4th and 5th Mix! also don't look for Kind Lady or Look to the Sky, because all of those songs was removed as well
Does anyone else think the Groove Radar is too small? We've got dozens of songs with values over 100, stuff shouldn't go outside the radar til 150 or so. At the very least it shouldn't be opaque.

Im very VERY picky about the music on a DDR machine but this list is pretty great when it comes to me picking more than 4 songs. Im VERY dissapointed that there are ZERO Smile DK songs at all. Is there a reason for that? Not even the typical Butterfly song is on that machine and it makes me sad.
darkmario66 Late reply, but basically Konami's deal with Toshiba EMI ran out, which is why Dancemania licenses have been removed. If it's any small consolation, one Smile.dk song that I know of is on DDR A because they are featured on a Konami original by Naoki Maeda (A Geisha's Dream).
Dance Danc eRevolution A (Ace) is only at Dave and Busters. but the good thing is that almost all DnB ddr A machines is in really good condition. There might be a DDR A theme for stepmania 5 but its just not as good as ddr a, plus in stepmania you have to put the songs in yourself which can be boring.If you want to play DDR A you have to be at a DnB if not then there's no other place to look.

Unless you're a weeb I can understand why you believe the song quality died. A good majority of the newer songs are actually popular Japanese songs from anime, vocaloid, games, and popular artists. They are not original. (Some are covers and remakes, of course.) At that point Konami didn't have to worry about an English market and took an advantage of songs that a lot of people really wanted on DDR. (Specifically the Touhou songs.) The general population doesn't play DDR anymore it's just people who frequent arcades. (Who are typically otaku-types.)
DDR became a vocaloid mania. Not that their songs aren't fun but they are more obsessed with step charts than being freestyle tracks. I enjoyed tracks from X3 but 2013 have terrible tracklist aside from some anime OP songs.

DDR became a vocaloid mania. Not that their songs aren't fun but they are more obsessed with step charts than being freestyle tracks.
I enjoyed tracks from X3 but 2013 have terrible tracklist aside from some anime OP songs.
You are right, but all of them have to have at least a couple of good songs.
