    This is exactly why my front lever felt way stronger the day after assisted one arm pull ups and deadlifts. LAT ACTIVATION! Even tho i was very tired the skill felt easier after those exercises. This is why feeling the right activation is important for any skill, and is the reason why some people learn them much faster. Well done

      Yes! THIS! Deadlifts and front levers are so different yet feel so similar due to lat engagement. I think this is so cool!

    The big challenge for me is feeling the exact same contraction when you do the hanging shrugs. I will try these tips, see if this is helps me improve this transition. Nice video!

    Nice one Coach B. Wondering, for the last exercise could you move on to a straight leg position in time ie pushing the box further away to get short holds in - say - a full straddle position for a few seconds before dropping the legs gently back to the box and resetting? Or is there little value in progressing like this … thanks for the great content!

    • @CoachBachmann
      @CoachBachmann  23 дня назад +2

      Well. Yes and not.
      Yes. This can be used for straddle or straight front levers but I would instead recommend to put the bar as low as possible so with full retraction you are just not touching the floor. As soon as you give way and lose retraction you will touch the floor for instant feedback about your form. Yet, form box works to0.
      the no:
      For me this one only makes sense if you have an angle at your hips (tuck, adv tuck, super adv tuck) as taking the feet off is as simply as engaging the hip flexors. For straight or straddle you have to engaged something (anything) else to get the feet off which means energy/weight will be carried through the kinetic chain and go into your shoulders. For the purpose of practicing this alignment the more advanced progressions do not work as well here

    coach, is it true that in fl touch, you barely use the lats and mostly the rear delts?

    • @CoachBachmann
      @CoachBachmann  22 дня назад +1

      I wouldn’t use the words barely and mostly. Yes. The front lever touch is gonna be more rear delt and triceps heavy but your lats are still doing significant amounts of work.

    this is a load of bs, saying chest and biceps will dominate on chin ups is the craziest takes i've ever seen, the chest and bicep muscles cant even pull you up, its always gonna be 90% lats even if your doing the chin up wrong. next your gonna tell me my push ups ingage the lats too much
