- Watch as we transform beat Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 B Viotech Sneakers into GRAILS. This pair of 2003 Viotechs was purchased from a Japanese Auction site for $400 but there's one problem- they are beat up and in dire need of a sole swap (among other things).

@@VintageKicksGallery cannot wait buddy 👍 glued to your channel
Cant wait for the part 3 🔥
I think that should drop over the weekend if not Monday
awesome work
Appreciate it!
Would be cool to see a bit more of your prep work methods but amazing video nonetheless! Did you clamp at all during the curing phase? Can’t believe you did that alignment so fast 🙌
Definitely an education on sole swapping
What’s the longest you’ve ever let the glue cure for ?
I would say 15ish min. It's all about using the heat to reactivate.
Hey man love the videos , would love to see more videos of how to buy sneakers from Japan

Hi,
Thank you for your videos.
I got one question. I'm going to make a light restoration on an AF1 and later i'll customize it. I'd like to know if I've to use the Angelus Deglazer before or after the Shoe Stretch and mink oil treatment?
Thank you so much
Damn bro, we need your opinion on the retro 85 natural grey :)
dope
Which Air Max did you use for the donor sole? Given that these are older sneakers... did the same size shoe for the donor sole work or did you have to +/- half a size at all?
It would be nice to see some tricks for getting the sole off the donor. I've had trouble with that in the past. Obviously if the sole is crumbling, the boiling water does the trick, but the glue can be more resilient on the newer donors.
Also, I understand removing old glue from the donor and upper is very important. Have any good tricks to do that? I've used a combo of sanding and acetone in the past and it feels like it takes an insane amount of time to get the glue off. Thanks!
If you want to preserve both the uppers and the soles, the boiling hot method is the safest you can have, if the upper is not a concern and you are going to throw that away you can pour acetone in the shoe and let it work on the glue for a little bit (10 to 30 minutes) plus if you also use some heat right before you pull the donor away it should be easier. Also, removing old glue is very important, as the glue you are going to put on needs a clean surface to work the best. One tip I can give you on removing old glue residues, use heat (I use a blowdryer) and then rub the area acetone, it does require some time but it works for me. Sanding also works but I'm not too much into it. Anyway be careful dumping a lot of acetone on old midsoles cause it could damage them, the newer the donors the better.
You know with the donors it's all about being delicate. I generally like to use a combo- I start with boiling water, let it sit for a few min, then I start with the toe cap and hit it with acetone. I gently pry it as I put more acetone on there but being gentle is the name of the game. Also, don't forget to let them sit for a day or so to regain the original size. As for the glue residue, acetone it. Use cotton balls (soaked in acetone) and just press them firmly against the residue for about 10-15seconds and then use a separate cotton ball (also soaked) to rub the residue off. Any stubborn stuff will have to be sanded with a really fine grit block.
@@VintageKicksGallery Thanks to both of you! exactly the kind of tips I was looking for
did you cop the am90 bacon? love to hear your thoughts on them
I have the OG's but def need the retros. I missed them on release but I've been watching the resell prices pretty closely. I'm a bit spooked by some of the QC issues I've seen. Did you get a pair?
@@VintageKicksGallery I managed to cop a shock restock in the UK still waiting on them to arrive, but ive seen alot in sneaker groups that the QC is questionable on some pairs
I’ve got a pair of dunks that are separating around the stitch line, I’m wondering do I have to reheat the cement before I push them together?
Hi there, where can i get the glue you use?
