The problem with "zero emission vehicles" is that they are not zero emission. Proving which type of vehicle produces less CO2 is nigh on impossible due to all the variables at play (that is the manufacture of the vehicles and production, or otherwise, of renewables (and the associated infrastructure). I can say with some confidence that the environmental damage caused by both is bad, but the environmental damage caused by making BEV cells is eye-watering.
