The Warning backed up Muse in Glasgow, didn’t know what to expect really. I’d seen a few videos of their younger selves learning their skills on RUclips . Honestly they were a tight band , put on a great show and the bass was up front and centre in quite a few of the tracks , they were brilliant . Jealous dudes who’ll only ever play with themselves having a go at a talented lady , doing her own thing with aplomb!. Get over yourselves.
If a musician is playing the role of their instrument withtin the song than they are a good musician at their instrument If a bassist only plays roots they can play bass because they are putting in the much needed low end into the mix (without it being too muddy and cluttered) If a guitarist is only playing power chords they can play guitar because they are filling out the mids and keeping the underlining chord progression going If a keyboardist is only playing simple melodies they can play keyboard as long as they are in time and stay in the high mids and treble (same with vocals). Your a good musician if you know your place in the band
Each of the sisters have exceptional talent and their own unique stage presence with their own manner of "power posing" worked into how they play & interact with the audience... makes for good photo ops for the many cameras trained on them and it engages the crowd. Honestly, I think they've done it for so long they're not even conscious that they're doing it

She clearly knows how to play bass and The Warning have really good songs. Her playing serves the song. She's giving the songs the bottom end that they deserve and she's holding down the groove along with the drummer. The other part of this is that she's an Entertainer and of course she's going to look pretty and have moves on stage that are probably practiced and planned out along with the facial expressions and the hair flips, etc. but that's part of entertaining the audience and giving them a good visual show. Being visual and giving the audience something exciting to look at is part of the show as well. Would you be interested in watching any band if all they did was stand in one place all night and stare at their shoes?
I've seen this girl at a very young age pick up the bass and over the years play in the band with her sisters. Since about 2013 she has gotten better and better. It wasn't long ago that she finally started to come out of her shell on stage and coming into her own style and stage presence. So yes she can definitely play bass, sing and play piano as well.
As someone who’s been playing bass for 26 years I’d say she’s doing just fine for her role in that band, their doing great things they don’t need much more, just ask their full crowd at all their shows they sell out, plus she’s damn cute too, so yea W in my book
I saw a video recently where they talked about having to consciously move around on stage to improve their live act. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. I just enjoy their music, it fucking rocks.
Alejandra Villarreal is an incredible bassist who is grossly underrated for her talent and has incredible stage presence. And, yes, she’s drop dead gorgeous. But, she’s an even better musician. She’s only 19 and has been playing at a high level for 10 years. Give this girl some credit and show a little respect for the Queen. 🤘
sounds corny, but she’s everything i aspire to be as a bass player. great stage presence, technique (in both hands), can sing lead if need be, leaves room for other instruments to shine and still manages to fill up the sound, even in a 3 piece. this band single handedly got me into music & playing bass just shy of 3 years ago. they’re also the tightest live band imaginable
Not only that but her bass lines are strong enough to carry the song in parts where the guitar is silent as well as build the foundation so the drums and guitar can go a bit wild.
They can play. They all grew up as musicians. I look like a fucking walrus, I have no "image." I rock a bass. The fact they're hot has nothing to do with their talent.

She is amazing and love the way she plays and her bass
She’s a great bassist, and she’s written some pretty great stuff too like dust to dust
Ale is a legit badass and adds some great fills when the song calls for it.
They’re all great. Seen them live twice. Great energy and they’re just kids.
Saw them live and they outperformed royal blood😊
She's an awesome bass player! This band is actually the group that got me interested in playing bass for the first time. Not that complex, but very catchy.
Saw the Warning supporting Muse in Huddersfield last year. Very good set and Ale (& the rest of the band) did a bang up job. Got the crowd going brilliantly & she put some good bass down. Muse were fucking awesome as usual.
A bassist that can stay in a tight groove and support the rest of the band on top is a good bassist, regardless of how simple the bassline is
Carol Kaye is the GOAT
Yes. More GOAT-like than 99.999999999% of male bass players.
Many female bassists are only famous for their "image". Kaye is not one of them.
The level of competency needed for women to be considered a good bassist is vastly lower than that for men.
To be a good male bassist, you need to be at least Jack Bruce level.
To be considered a good female bassist, you need to be Kim Deal level.
Carol (and Joe Osborne, and Paul McCartney) inspired all of us dedicated flatpickers!
@@Welcome2TheInternet nah
Yes she is!!
@@Welcome2TheInternetreally? Which female bass players are considered great because of how they look? It almost seems the other way around for me. It feels like they have to get to the level of Tal Wilenfeld or Mohini Dey to escape criticism that they are only successful based on image.
All I know is that I love what i hear! They are a great band! Three vey talented young women!
@@JDP7463 You can barely hear her bass line. That's intentional
She's got almost computer-like sense of rhythm and holds a CRAZY-STEADY line going with just enough filigree to make the bass one of the more attractive layers of the songs. Anyone who bags on her and says she can't play remember.....this girl is in a major touring band with two other members that have more skill than almost every band that crawled out from under Alternative Music Rock in the 90.

She is a teenager. Still growing as an artist. I think her and her sisters are doing amazing music right now. They are one of the few new bands that I actually enjoy every new release
If they were three brothers you wouldn't be so excited.

Ale also got endorsed by Spector basses, and even got her own signature. Pretty impressive for a 19 year old
@@andreaspedersen3952 do you really think that kid got her signature bass just because she is an awesome player? Behind that deal is a lot of PR work and contacts. Ale and her sisters have the best parents ever
Alejandra is the most byeautiful bass player in the world, and has been playing for about 2/3 of her life. Spector built a custom bass for her when she was 13 years old. She’s 18 now. I think it was the best investment Spector ever made.
Trust in this... She can play bass!!! Saw them live, and she is the real deal.

@@fearnoevil65 What's really weird is when people talk about Ale, they think shes a 34 year old Bass player that's been playing for her entire life.
She started playing Bass at 9 years old and is only 19 lmao, she's just now hitting the point where she can really start exploring, also, bass lines in rock/hard rock generally aren't anything crazy. She's doing exactly what she needs to be in relation to the band. Bass players are the metronomes of the band, it isn't her job to be insane on her instrument, it's to keep the timing.
@@ajsmodernandretrogames8523 I've seen her vidoes, who cares. She's been playing long enough to be a lot better than she is if she wanted to be. It is impressive to watch, how articulate she was on her talks and of course her performance, playing piano, bass and singing. Alejandra is the real deal! The Warning practice every day and work very hard and are involved in every part of their musical process.
And she still can't play anything past one note beginner level bass parts, weird! But man, that hair flip!!
Love watching her play, amazing stage presence
Bassist Micki Steele from The Bangles was legit
Steele was also in the Runaways, the original kick ass girl band.
One of my faves. And she could write and sing!
I love their music and their shows. That's enough for me...
I've been watching them for a bit now, and she Rocks! ❤❤❤
If a musician is playing the role of their instrument withtin the song than they are a good musician at their instrument
If a bassist only plays roots they can play bass because they are putting in the much needed low end into the mix (without it being too muddy and cluttered)
If a guitarist is only playing power chords they can play guitar because they are filling out the mids and keeping the underlining chord progression going
If a keyboardist is only playing simple melodies they can play keyboard as long as they are in time and stay in the high mids and treble (same with vocals).
Your a good musician if you know your place in the band
She's great. She's got some great grooves.

@@WelcomeToTiltedTowers You not liking their music doesn't justify people straight up hating on a girl for playing an instrument
And she looks good playing it. Looking forward to seeing them live October 13th.😊
She's such a vibe in liveshows, I love her playing in Z and Disciple
I think she's like a machine. She's awesome at playing the bass.
