    My brother, this is the best video ever. Only one if on the same level - “Just do it ultimate Remix” by Shia Labeouf. Applause!

    This video is emotional. I find these stories related to sports very similar to those related to science. For example, Andrew Wiles held (for years) the focus, reason and decision to prove Fermat's Last Theorem. And he did.

      Indeed. It applies to all areas of life for sure. Running is no different.

    Your words always clarify and motivate me!This shows how thinking is not an invisible black box. #3 make a decision -is an action. Like picking up your toothbrush. I never realized it but this explains how I ran 11miles of a race in total nausea. I do remember deciding I’m finishing this race. So what if I’m nauseated. I decided to run to the end. It was my favorite not fastest because I learned so much from it. Now I’ve got the words. Thank you!

      You got it. A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. Without new action you haven’t truly decided.

      @@runelitecoach yessir, my mindset changed the way I eat, prioritize sleep and structure training. I made a quantum leap in my finishing places. I meditate every morning and play out every step of my next race in as much detail as possible and visualize winning. Thanks Coach🙌🏾

    A burning heart and desire can give us the extra adrenaline to cope with a hard workout.There is the dream,ambitions of what we deeply dream about and want.But the mind is also the practical discipline of how we carry it out.Still training harder doesn't always equate to being faster as there is a physical breakdown of our body and how can we have the wisdom to know the best and most efficient way to recover from workouts. Everyone's body reacts slightly different to exercise load,frequency, and intensity. Part of the key is finding the best balance for you. 3 major factors, Like a tricycle,One is stimulus the actual exercise and variety of workouts,long runs,speed and recovery, Two is fuel -Eating good and I believe extra carbs or even protein powder can help boast a faster recovery and rebuilding sore muscles faster.Fuids and mineral balance enough water,potassium helps ect..Three rest,sleep..getting zzzs.We are actually getting stronger when we rest in the rebuilding phase the exercise was the stimulus to create it which uses nutrients and we need lots of good sleep. SO,if one thing is out of balance we won't recover as fast.As we get older the recovery is crucial so we won't get injured.Prefontaine had the desire and heart to push himself. My favorite quote of his was don't quote me exactly but something like("To give less then your best is to sacrifice the gift")
    So basically if we can all learn to balance of the (Three factors of exercise, nutrition and sleep we can run better as well.).After many Marathons since the early 1980s and dropping some incredible times in my prime sub 2:30 I'm still learning but have slowed down with decades past by now lucky to hit a 3:00 -3:15 marathon or sub 20 min 5k,which is still respectable at almost 60..Thank you for the great video. I love running movies and have both Prefontaine movies.And to think the running shoes back then those racing flats didn't offer much cushioning at all. I wonder if Pre could of been a minute faster in today racing shoes?

    I have increased my mileage over the past few weeks; even running doubles. Very tired/fatigued/dead legs right now. Push through or take a rest day?

    • @runelitecoach
      @runelitecoach  10 месяцев назад +4

      Rest day of course. Then get back at it but slow the pace down a LOT

    Jim Ryan ran aerobic until the very end. It isn't possible to run an anaerobic pace for very long. Lactic acid builds up and starts limiting performance.

    • @runelitecoach
      @runelitecoach  10 месяцев назад

      Getting yourself fit enough to where a 3:50 mile is aerobic is pretty dang good. But I’m not sure why you’re saying that. He surely was anaerobic during much of these races. The point is that it was emotionally and psychologically “easy” because of his mindset
