I installed the classic Dart screen. I am pretty happy with the outcome. It does keep the pressure of my chest and makes riding they highway much more comfortable.
I fitted one to my T100, great quality and looks good. However I am over 6 foot and find the wind hitting my chest has reduced, but the wind hitting my helmet has increased and is now very noisy and I would say for a long journey I may even remove it.
stecornes I know the feeling . At 6:3 any screen especially on sport bikes tends to direct the wind to just below my lid. Wind noise can be ridiculous. Trying to see if I can cope on a T120 with no dart screen at all . Motorway runs are no fun but a I think a full on windshield looks appalling.
Hi! Great you have reviewed this. I am seriously considering a Speed Twin 900 (Street twin)....but the short test ride I was allowed on back roads only up to ~55-60mph I found this bike had some serious bad air from the front end that caused loud helmet noise and a serious updraft that pulled very hard on my helmet from underneath trying to lift the helmet off my head. I am 5'7". I am wondering if you felt this screen deflects the wind at least above your neck and hopefully mitigates wind noise and updraft? Thank you. fwiw my Rebel was similar but no where near as bad as the Speed Twin/Street twin 900. My Trident is super quiet by comparison so it's not me. No point in considering the ST900 if I can't make it comfortable to even ride back roads.
I does make more of a difference than i was expecting, the Marlin (I spotted your comment there too) is even more effective. But for me the classic would be enough
Thanks for this - got it on in no time. Still to ride it but might find at 6 ft 4, it's more uncomfortable with that without. Time will tell. Thanks again.
Thanks for the review. I just got a new T120 and was thinking about putting one on it for the long distance rides but was not really sure if it actually made any difference or if it was just more for looks.
Hi, no problem, yes I would say definitely makes a difference. They are apparently bringing out the 'Marlin' soon for the new Bonneville range, that's a slightly taller/wider version
Is there any wider windshield to put on this model? Something that could offer more protection and covering but not ugly as hell. I like the most windshields like Thruxton or cafè racer style or similar.
Thanks for this video. Just wondering whether the wind is now deflected on to the head area and make it quite noisy. I am thinking of putting one on my T120. Cheers again
Thanks for this! I've got my ST coming in about 4 weeks or so and was really debating this, glad to hear it works well for you. Out of curiosity, how tall are you? I am 5'11" and my only concern is that it will not do much for me.
Great to hear, thanks! Also random, but is that Street Twin logo on the sides of the bike painted on or are they stickers? I am planning on deleting those and was just wondering if I would need to paint over or just pull them off.
My plan too..... they are stickers, but are annoyingly under the clear coat. So they will need a proper flatting back, removing then making good before applying paint....
Good review been looking to buy a Dart Classic. Really like the looks of the midnight tint but was wondering if you can see the road through it at night if you needed to lay down on the tank to avoid bugs and bright lights?
Thanks for the reply but I was referring to seeing through the midnight tint. I'm a 5'1" female who rides a 1200XLN Sportster and have measured the height of the screen as it would sit on my bike, I know I could get low enough to get behind it if need be. I'm trying to decide if I can get the midnight tint that looks awesome or if I have to get the dark tint that I know I can see through.
Ah ok I get you now, I think you could get away with it in town, or where there is street lighting. Somewhere like the country would make it tricky to see through at night. The midnight is pretty dark
Hi Tony, I am considering a fly screen for my Street Scrambler, I have seen a couple of reviews stating that the noise from the turbulent wind around the head and helmet is noisier with the screen than without, what is your experience of this please? Regards. Paul.
I didn't notice it on the bike, it is only a fly screen so I found it took a little wind off the body, but didnt affect the wind around the helmet. A lot will depend on how tall you are, what yoyr riding position is like and indeed he helmet you wear. But the small scren shouldnt create much or indeed any buffeting
Don't like that fitting at all. That design will scratch the headlight bracket for sure. Does triumph make a real accessory that will fit with the existing brackets to fit cleaner? They did make a much better part for my T120.

Just got back from an hour long spin on the Street Twin. Bugs were terrible out and thus I landed here. Cheers from the States
Hello!
Very cool thanks, but we're a venal bunch, we'd love to have an end of video recap...
A view from a distance to see how it looks
A price point
Etc
;-)
Thanks for the feedback
+Views from the Man Cave fair point, I could also look at the description ;)

6' 4" is pretty tall for a street twin, hope the screen works out
@@mancavemoto - 35 inside leg too. I resemble any normal person riding a Grom. I love it though.
Great video.
What torque nm have you put on the headlight bolts?

ordered a light tint dart based on your review.like your videos on the street twin
Thanks Victor

I didnt experience that no, just took a little of the pressure off the body at higher speeds
Views from the Man Cave thanks 👊🏼

I'm 5'10" and found it more effective than I originally imagined.

Saw a pic of one on.a bobber , same.as mime with high bars and looked great
I can imagine it did. Thanks for watching
Nice review ! Does it avoid insect to crash on your face ?
Thanks Gregoire, yes it's very effective
What if you want to put a bigger wind shield on street twin? Do we have any option?
Yes there is the Dart Marlin which is taller, check my review ruclips.net/video/UoRljYpk1kM/видео.html
Was looking to buy this one or the Rizoma Low Headlight Fairing, any thoughts or suggestions?
Dart now also do a shorter version of this Screen, might be worth checking out?
@Views from the Man Cave , did you paint the headlamp ring in matt black or it's a wrap??
Carlo Ghezzi Hi Carlo, painted with Satin black
I put one on my Harley. Didn't work. Shakes your head violently. Sent it back. Great quality but unfortunately do not work for me.
Good review been looking to buy a Dart Classic. Really like the looks of the midnight tint but was wondering if you can see the road through it at night if you needed to lay down on the tank to avoid bugs and bright lights?
Good question, I’ve never tried, but it’s pretty low anyway

Thanks appreciate it, just what I needed to know! I guess I need to go with the dark tint then since I am not a city dweller. :-)
just installed it... really helpful video..
no problemo
How did you find wind noise at speed ? I fitted a similar style screen from fleabay and the noise was terrible and i'm no where near a six footer .
Fine, no problems at all
Can you have the Scrambler Headlight Grille along with the Flyscreen ? Or they're incompatible together?
They will fit together fine. No problems at all
What’s the difference between this screen and the Triumph accessory fly screen?
Mainly the price, but the Dart screen is also a different shape
Great and concise video.
Much appreciated!
I like the look of the screen but don't like how the mounting bracket goes outside the headlight bracket itself .
This is where it differs from the Triumph one, but it does mean once assembled the Dart one is very quick and easy to take off and on
That's true
this wil be suitable for Royal enfield classic 500desert strom

It didnt scratch the brackets at all.
@@mancavemoto The bracket system for the Speed Twin definitely scratch the brackets where it’s rests. The OEM bracket system is MICH better.
Hi, Does anyone know if the actual screen will fit the official triumph mounting kit? Thanks!!
Good question, Dart may be able to answer that?
Thanks Tony. I’ll ask. Just seeing my options for my new 2019 street twin. I can see why you like them, brilliant bike.
@@mancavemoto Dart replied with the following... No it will only fit on the brackets designed here for the Dart screen.
Would it fit motoguzzi v9 bobber ?

Followed this video to the letter, thanks! Like
Thanks
How tall are you?
5ft 10
I fitted a Merlin windshield, look good, good quality construction but not fit for the purpose. Waste of time.
