In the back of the Rulebook in the GM section, it mentions that if the character has a negative cumulative bonus, you can have them subtract each score from 21, and that will provide a positive cumulative bonus. For example, your rolls would end up being 11, 10, 14, 12, 13, 14 at the start, which is much better to work from as your bonuses would then be +0, +0, +1, +0, +1, +1. This takes your below average character to an above average character, average being a cumulative bonus of 0.
Thanks, I never played DnD, lots of PC RPGs though. For some reason I really want to try this and be the DM. Just bought BF Core rule book and some adventure anthology. Will see how it goes.
I don't understand why the rules don't use a simpler 8 + d10, except for the prime requisite for the class, 14 + d4. I can't remember which older set of rules stated that the character should have a minimum of two 15's to be viable.
