Important note about Demon Slave: you can queue up to one extra attack. Understanding this I’m relation to the demons and how they work will really let you get the most out of them Example: Gomorrah’s two hit claw swipe. You can input the attacks quickly, the let go of left trigger, he’ll continue the attack so long as he doesn’t get staggered or you don’t get hit. What this allows you to do is continue moving/attacking while Gomorrah does his thing; and it doesn’t stop there: Since you can queue attacks, you can pay attention to when the last attack begins and queue another one, and so long as A) you don’t run out of magic B) the demon doesn’t get staggered/enraged/killed or C) you don’t get hit, you can continue queuing actions for the demon while attack/dodging yourself. What I’m saying is: Bayonetta can be played like a puppet character if you know what you’re doing, allowing you to simultaneously open two cans of whoop-ass at once. Don’t sleep on the demon slave, ladies and gentlemen.
Viola also have Parry reset, it work just like Dante's Guard reset in Devil May Cry. It's a trick to skip recovery frame from heavy attack animation so you character can dish out heavy attack faster than usual
Later on in the game there's a charm that lets you summon a demons and still move as they attack automatically so the first tip is kind of mote late in the game
I would like to know more about how the score system works. Sometimes you get an "Improvised" score boost for doing different combos. Sometimes is activates and sometimes is doesn't. Just would like more clarity on that if anyone knows.
u have to do projectile shot Hand attack Feet attack Masqurade attack (part of a combo when she transforms) Summon attack if u do all that u get improvisaion that gives 10 percent bonus to ur score
Just a caveat for the instruction on the waypoint: I'd say the general rule holds true but there are some exceptions. There were at least 2-3 times in my playthrough where heading to the opposite end of the waypoint locked me out of an earlier area because the waypoint was actually a midpoint along the proper path, but it just doesnt update it until you reach said midpoint. First time was in the first china-themed zone where I completely missed the bridge time portal cuz I was locked when I went too far to the right and got to rodin's shop.
You’re not the first person I’ve seen suggest that player should switch to type D for Viola, but I kinda disagree with the idea. I see the logic of wanting to have your witch time activation defensive skill on the same button, but Viola also has a dodge button. Even though it doesn’t grant witch time I still think it’s better to keep ZR as the shared dodge button.
I tried Type D too when I played her but the 2x R dash is affected by that too so I swap one problem with another. Kept it on Type A and just really have to focus when playing Viola
Why does Viola’s parry have to be so frame perfect for us to get a decent Witch Time? Also, why did they take out the clock that tells you when WT is gonna end? They made this worse for no reason.
i noticed a lot of 3 weapons has slower animation than the prequel but it's fair cuz the demon slave will balance that also just use fan ,whip and MB quads guns for fast attack animation
@@dante19890 yeah most weapons in 3 has a lot of framerate but if they don't do that a lot of weapons in 3 will be busted than they already are bcuz of the added demon slave mechanic I damn stomp rodin boss just using the two moves the giant hand spinning attack and dodge I'm still experimenting with the demon slave cancel animation and weapon switch cancel animation with some weapons
There's a drawback to the first tip. The demons have their own combos as well, and some of their most powerful attacks are behind either complex inputs, or multiple input combos, that simply can't be done in that split-second window. You want a demon's full power, then you gotta play by their rules.
I hate that it tried to emulate DMC5 and forced 2 additional characters down ur throat instead of them being optional extras. It would have really improved the game if viola and jeanne were optional side missions and didnt interfere with ur flow and momentum of the main bayonetta gameplay.
a point i d like to include is: Practice to keep ur combo going. Wicked weaves/demon masquarade give huge combo points, hense why they are on the end. This can be hard to maintain if u have to doudge. The point here is to hold down the attack button while you dodge. Bayonetta will basically charge atk as long as ur avoiding an attack. after ur dodge, u imidiatly have to press kick/punch, otherwise the combo will be broken and u have to start it from the top. I myself have only mastered this with her handguns, fans, alrune and the microphone....its not as hard as it sounds, timing is all also, if the enemy is far away, use the shoot button to keep up ur combo count.
The speed of the weapons some of the weapons are not as fast as others. So if you like a certain Style and you like a certain attack or something take that into consideration.
Hey I'm pretty sure that enemies can definitely attack you off screen, even if they're standing or moving around idly they can still take shots at you so beware, it's most frequent with enemies that have ranged attacks.
On the viola parry thing. I have tried other button layouts, and they def help with the muscle memory of trigger to dodge. The only issues is that when u remap block to trigger, it also remaps your lock on. So doing things like stinger or trick input just don't work unless u use the trigger. Ya it's a minor detail. But I have deeply ingrained muscle memory with both of those buttons. Triggers are for dodging, bumpers are for locking on. It's just not as simple to just swap the inputs for me. Really the best solution in my opinion is to map block to the unused left bumper. I really don't understand why they left in this weird mechanic where your block is also technically your lock on. It makes sense in a sword fighting game perspective, I'd easily see this in something like sekiro. But here, it's just too fucking clunky. If they ever make update patches to any of the gameplay. I'd love for them to reconsider de-cuffing the lock on and block button from each other. Or at least make it so when u bind block to a trigger that u can still use the normal stinger inputs. Really that's the only thing, aside from the less options compared to bayo, that's really keeping me from her. Playing viola is just too painful for me, whenever I feel like I'm getting it my muscle memory kicks in and I dodge every 2 seconds and never witch time. Another slight bother is that since lock on and block are linked to one button, u can't rapid tap the block button. Which isn't helpful at all. Cause when u are trying to figure out a timing for a move. It feels super unfair to be locked into a trick dash animation when ur just trying to space out block inputs to figure out the party window. All these tiny cuts add up to being an overall less satisfying character imo.
You can tell the Demon Slave to do queue up two attacks, see ruclips.net/video/soGdl1DUDCc/видео.html Demon Slave will do first attack, then queued attack, then disappear unless new command inputs are given. Just always have attacks in its queue and the Demon Slave will keep attacking. One thing that I do is I tell Madama Butterfly to do 360+Kick then 360+Kick, and she's out there for a good ten seconds doing two of her spinning bird helicopter kicks while I kick ass myself. I can always queue up some more pretty quickly. Also if you target an enemy, that's who the Demon Slave will target all the time.
Anyone have any tips for how to pull off Dead End Express' aerial version of after burner kick? The move list implies that you need to tilt the stick and press kick while airborne but I only get the regular slam down
Hey DevilNeverCry, I know this is not a DMC video but I wanted to say that I have actually beaten all missions on all difficulties, including Dante Must Die mode, with an S rank. How about you, did you accomplish that?
I haven't finished the game yet so I'm not watching this. That said I clicked the video just to see if you'd use this opportunity to use the 'new game' option of your intro given that this is the first video on a new game.
