Ariane, You are so compassionate about the world of soap making. I just love to watch you make new products for your store. You were definitely made to do this with your life. I so enjoy watching a strong independent woman do something that she is so excited about doing in life!!! Congratulations to You!!! I hope that you will be able to move into a much larger store, even though the one you are in is so quaint!!! Blessings to you and your children.
I make regular soap, but I have always thought about making shampoo bars. I love the way you took us step by step. Thank you so much for sharing part of your recipe.
I made (this in my own version of course) with your guidance and this turn out amazing! I used it for 3 months and my hair is night and day from before I started using shampoo bars. Now I am going to try the conditioner! So excited!
girl you are amazing with this, im going to start making my own soaps at home, but i was thinking at the beginning of this video like damn shes using every oil that most black girls use in their hair, especially that jojoba seed oil and almond oil.....YES HONEY!
Ariane, I enjoy watching your videos so much. I can see how much care you take in making your soap, even in the way you cut and handle the bars is done with care. Thank you for the tips and for sharing
I would love to hear about that large mold, as well as the pull-down cutter to used to cut the large chunk into logs. Thanks for your videos; they are always so informative!
Thank you for this excellent video...You are so smart and your soaps look amazing :) you do resemble the beautiful shy girl in the movie "The breakfast club". One of my favs.
Beautiful and I loved the cheery colour the soaps turned out to be in the video, I can picture it with mmm organic lemon essential oil! Thanks for the tips Ariane, and the warmth of your character comes through, like you just had one or 2 of us over for a cuppa, and a lesson in building a shampoo bar.
I never knew that about the citric acid. Thanks for sharing, I might try that with my shampoo bars. Thanks for sharing the styrofoam box tip too! I cut out the ends of two boxes but I think this might be a better solution!
Lovely! You know you've got a good fragrance blend when you loose your train of thought after smelling it! Every time I see your videos using the 20 lbs mold I must admit I get a wee bit jealous! I'd love to have a mold like that! Someday...
Love this. I really need to make shampoo bars. I have a sister who breaks out on her scalp from all sorts of shampoos. She started using my handmade soap as shampoo but would love to start making something suitable for the hair. Love all your videos. Now I need to go do some research.
Thank you so much for posting this video, I always enjoy viewing them and listening to your recommendations . I am also so sorry to hear that you had a fire in your house.
Love a shampoo bar and yours look perfect! ~ Clever insulation for your molds... We too enjoy our For Crafts Sake equipment yet no snow here, The Golden State : )
Hey Ariane, I stumbled across your video I'm from PEI, I've been to the islands and they are beautiful hoping to make a trip over again this summer! Great Video
I absolutely love this whole concept for hair shampoo and also hand made conditioners too. I have for a long time but I had other things that kept me from going forward, but I am ready now LOL ! Thank you so much. I have a book and it does not mention the sea water and I think you are right so I like the sea water you mention,. Anyway you are just a charm thank you again and again. ..Susanne
I would not use sea water for dry hair types as salt draws oils and toxins from the skin. I would assume it would do the same on hair. So salt is good for normal to oily hair types.
I just made a Shampoo Bar: Canola Oil, Castor Oil, Vitamin E, Guacamole Mixed With Lemon Juice. I'm my Lye Solution I had Comfrey And Calendula Tea That I Mixed My Lye Into. I Took My Stick Blender And Then Mixed The Guacamole With My Oils Before Adding My Lye Solution And Mixing That. I Added Tea Tree Essential And Frankincense. Wrapped My Soap For 2 Days Before Cutting.
Ariane Thank you for the video. Your soaps look amazing.....could you please tell me where you purchased your soap cutter for your 20 pound loaf? Mercier Beaucoup Carol
Wow You're a true scientist. I really want to make my own all solid travel necessities. My pb is to find a good SOLID conditioner that will really work for my hair. ;-) xxx
To substitute the tea tree oil in products especially my dog soaps I use lemongrass or Sweet or wild lemongrass as it’s not as harsh on the skin and I use it in my nit soap and shampoo and it’s one of my top sellers
What a beautiful bar! Just out of curiosity, won't the citric acid neutralise some of the lye used before it reacts with the oils and that way hindering the saponification?
Ariane, Your soap making is so impressive. I love it. And your equipment is great. Please share the company you buy from for your soap molds and cutters. Thanks.
Hi Ariane,. I've seen this cool new brand selling shampoo cubes. Basically a box with miniature cubes that are just enough for one wash and you are able to crumble. Do you perhaps have a tutorial on how to make such a product? Or would you consider making one?
hello ariane,i like the video for shampoo bar and i like the idea for sampoo in bar ,but can you tell us one or two comons oil for oily and dry hair. Can you to show us a shampoo bar for oily hair? Thank you
I'm curious to know how you got into this business. You are so knowledgeable and I'm sure your soaps are fantastic. I'm so curious to try them but when I last visited your site, I couldn't.
What is the end pH on these soaps? I have been making soaps for 4 years and have not found a recipe low enough to work for human hair which should be around 4.5. So I have my doubts that the correct pH can be reached. Thank you
Those soaps look great!! I really enjoy watching your videos. What is the dimension of the mold, each log, and the thickness of each bar if you dont mind me asking? They look thick and like the perfectly fit in the hand and last in the shower
Rose black she said in the beginning of the video that she will not share the recipe and that you have to create your own mix. She’ll give guidelines but that’s it.
You made those wonderful cold processed soap bars and I was wondering why you don’t have any shampoo bars on your website?? I would buy them if you did!
Hello! can you explain the water discount process a bit more? Thank you so much for your videos and time! I love everything you create!. I am creating recipes for a dreadlock shampoo bar and need to understand the water discount more.
I was thinking if you could make a special dreadlock shampoo bar? You have to use residuefree shampoo for dreadlocks and I really love your videos soooo:P
Hi Ariana! I just want to say I love watching your videos!!! Can I ask a question, please? Can you please tell me where you got your large mold and cutters from? I'm at the point where I need to switch to large batches in my soap making and I don't seem to be able to find a system I like. I really like how your bars came out. Please and thank you!!!!
Hello Ariane! I am in New Brunswick and I am wondering if your suppliers for oils and fragrances are also in Canada. I would love to know where I could purchase supplies and try soaping myself. My husband and I have been talking about visiting the islands next summer, we will make sure to visit your shop!!
When I was a teen, I would put my hair in the salt water at the beach, then later in the day I would wash my hair at home. The salt water made my hair so soft.
This is a wonderful video! Thank you so much for making it. I am very curious if you could tell me more-or-less how your neighbor filters sea water. I live near the sea, and I can find tons of videos on how to distill and/or filter everything from sea water, including the salt to make drinking water, but I think you mean to filter out bacteria etc. but keep the salt. Correct?
good job making a lid for that mold! very creative! I love making shampoo bars! what do you use to preserve the essential oil soaps, mine are changing in smell after 3-4 months, very slight rancid oil smell! I don't want to discard them, any ideas?
Oh my I love your videos!! Question... Do you ever use Hemp oil? I have recently come a crossed it and it works great in soaps especially soaps with clay but wondering if I could use it in shampoo bars? Your videos are great you are such an amazing inspiration in soap making,! P.s I also live on an island too, I learned after watching your videos to take advantage of all the free and local resources I have available to me because of where I live ,so thanks for that lesson also!! :-)

Dear Ariane, thank you for sharing your videos here. BTW, how can I purchase the molds, soap loaf and bar cutters you used in this very video?
Oh my I love your videos!! Question... Do you ever use Hemp oil? Hemp oil and hemp seed oil are the same thing. The oil in hemp comes from hemp seeds, much like sesame and sunflower oil.
