What were the symptoms? Parking aid button flashing or just the speaker not working?

In my case, putting it in reverse did no longer bring up the reversing sensors screen. There was no beep or any any other audible sign from the system. The whole system simply stopped working.

It is an MK1, which should be the same as the facelifted 2013.
