      Yeah that $21 broadcast fee is a major sticking point with me right now. Having to pay for local channels that I already have and yet still can't record, just doesn't sit well with me. They do have some channels that the other don't that make it tempting, but that broadcast fee. 😤

    Where I live Spectrum has such a bad reputation as a company that it was a no go right from the start. The thing I love about RUclips TV is the portability of it, since I split my time between Texas and Montana. One of the things I stumbled across to get over the annoying RUclips TV asking me if my location is permanent or temporary is to setup my Streaming device (both Roku and Chomreast) at my Texas address and then use it on the TV when I go to Montana. RUclips TV still thinks I'm in Texas. Only downside is I can't get local Montana stations but I can get them over the air. Though I am thinking of switching it around as Montana does not have Sales Tax and if it was my main address then I could save a bit on sales tax.

    I have cut the chord with my cable provider which I had been paying $267 dollars a month for the TV part of it and was with them for many years but prices kept increasing each year. I now have the following: OTA antenna which all local 57 channels I get are free, next have only cable internet which is $50 a month, next have Netflix which is $14 per month, and last have Disney+ which is $7 a month.
    Plus basic You Tube has a wide variety of videos to watch for many hours. There are also free Pluto, Tubi, Xumo, and PopcornFlix to name a few which also have periodic ads to have to sit through which is not too bad.
    I dont need those top live streaming services which can run up to 60-70 dollars a month. I have enough entertainment to watch with what is listed above.

    I am on a free 7 day trial with Spectrum right now, so that part has changed, well at least in my area. The total price with the broadcast fee of $21, which isn't optional by the way, bring the total to $85 a month. This is with no DVR service too. No way I'm keeping it. RUclips TV is $20 cheaper, and SlingTV, which has just enough acceptable channels, is $50 cheaper with the one tier I like. I may try the Spectrum Choice Package which I think is around $10 cheaper than RUclips. Just not sure if all of the channels I want are included. Spectrum tends to be very vague with what and what isn't included.

Her internet bundle discount, from the billing statement, is only $4. We went to Roku devises, about $50 for both. Added sling blue with extra cloud dvr space for $40. An AirTV Anywhere was a hundred bucks with 3 months prepay of Sling. For internet we went with T Mobile 5g home gateway, $50 a month. So we payed a $150 for equipment and $90 a month for internet and Sling. We have plans to add Netflix ($15) and we feel we would be set.

      The 80 dollar a month internet NEVER got speeds anywhere near what they claimed. Just before I switched I did multiple speed tests averaging about 40Mbps. Right out of the box after set up I got 300Mbps with t mobile! The AirTV Anywhere came with a flat antenna with a signal amplifier so I hooked that up. With my tower 25 miles away I could not get even mediocre reception even with the antenna pointing straight too the TV towers. Through watching You tube videos I learned that the signal amplifier might be harmful and disconnected it. The number of channels jumped from 35 to 76 and eliminated dropouts and pixilation. The picture looks like cable!

Since they were the only game in town we'd have TV with them for a while then stop, and pay about $90/yr for Internet. Now AT&T dug fiber... Called Spectrum and tried to negotiate a lower cost. No dice. So bye bye Spectrum. We do AT&T 1 gig fiber plus Sling. And it was cheaper than Spectrum on a deal.

      Thier 4K Apple Tv option does not mean all shows are in 4K, much like RUclips TV. Only specific shows are in 4K.
      The BIG advantage for me is when I am traveling. I can stream my entire RUclips TV package to a hotel TV and watch all of my recorded shows or regular TV shows. Spectrum limits the channels available when you are not on your home Internet.

    You need to learn how to talk to Spectrum. I get bundle pricing every year and when you add in the price of internet, Spectrum is still cheaper than internet and YTTV. Plus I get regional sports, A@E, and HBO max.

      Hiw much are you paying monthly?

    • @richardsmith1161
      @richardsmith1161 2 года назад +1

      @@Triple_M $146, after a taxes and fees. YTTV with internet would be $150. Spectrum also has slimmer streaming plans where you get Premiums for 5 for $15 or $7.50 each. Plus you get Peacock premium free with TV plans.

      @@richardsmith1161 So for me, I have YTTV and T-Mobile internet. $50 for T Mobile and $65 for YTTV so that's $115; so still cheaper. But the point is that you have to bundle to get that deal, and It's still more expensive. Imagine those folks that are not getting a deal that are not bundled.

    So I live in Florida and was just watching Spectrum News Channel 13. They had a part on themselves donating $7500 to Covenant House and what a great thing they were doing. Spectrum is worth over $75 billion. GFY, you are not philanthropists. That is such a sad amount and you should not be patting yourselves on the back. Do it every month for the next ten years and get back to me. Pathetic.

    • @Paul-np5fe
      @Paul-np5fe 2 года назад +1

      @@rickjones7133 It is true, you do get that fee. However, with only having Spectrum internet you are looking at a $94.99 bill. I pay $114.00 per month for 400 MBPS internet and Spectrum TV. If I pay $94.99 for my internet and $64.99 plus tax for RUclips tv, I am going to be out over $160.00 plus taxes.

      @@Paul-np5fe If you're paying $114 a month including taxes fees, That's a great price. Every month, Spectrum sends me junk mail claiming I could get 200 speed internet plus tv for $75 dollars a month (I pay $75 for just internet. No tax on internet). I called Spectrum, Asked what is the price including taxes/fees. The customer rep said $131, then laughed. Then said, How did it go from $74.99 to $131. I reminded him that there's no tax on the internet part of the bill. He said, $17 for Broadcast TV fee. There was another fee $23 that I never heard of before, Then the taxes. I said no thanks. Bye. I will never pay that Broadcast TV fee.
