  • A neighbor dropped off this Troy Bilt 2410 snowblower for repair. It had been sitting all summer with gas in the tank and it had fouled the carburetor. He tried to fix it himself but couldn't, so I pick up where he left off.

I had a gunked up carb. I poured a bottle of seafoam into the gas tank. Every 10 minutes I primed and attempted to start. 50 minutes later it started up and I haven't had problems since.

Thanks for the video. I have the same snow blower and it would only run if the choke was open and would stall in the run position. I followed your video and cleaned the carburetor out. It was pretty nasty and all gummed up. It's running better then it has in years. It took me about 2 hours and only cost $5.00 for the carb cleaner. Thanks!

“I filled it with regular E10 gas and left a full tank in it without stabilizer all summer, and now that it’s snowing it won’t start! Piece of crap!!!!” - most people
I have this blower. Use zero ethanol gas, with both Stabil and Techron in it, and run it completely empty before putting it away, you’ll have no problems next year.

quit using regular gas and always use a fuel stabilizer . I personally use stabil 360 , I never had a carb issue.

I have the same blower. First thing I did was go on ebay and bought a new carb for 20$ . Back running in about an hour 👍

I have a question please. I saw another video where a guy said we needed to apply Permatex 80078 Anti-Seize Lubricant to the drive shaft. So I would have to take off the wheels on my Troy-Bilt Storm 2410 snowblower. I tried to do this today, but the wheels would not come off, but the rotate freely. I bought this machine in 2012 and it works great.

That's fairly common that the wheels get stuck on. You could try soaking with WD40 and tap a bit with a hammer to see if they start coming off. If they do, you can clean it up and apply the anti seize. If they are really stuck I would just leave it since everything is working fine. I wouldn't risk damaging anything in that case.

As far as I've seen you haven't shown how to remove the jet that was not addressed in this video nor in the subsequent part 2. Can you elaborate?

What is the carb number you used to put on that Troy Bilt 2410? Is it available on Amazon?

Thank you. As shown in the video, I emptied gas, cleaned the carburetor (apparently the holes were not blocked) and added new gas. Now when I turn on using the electric start button, after few tries it starts and runs for few seconds (~ 5 sec). Before I turn the choke to run mode engine stops.
Snowblower is just 3 years old. Is there anything I should check like replacing spark plug? or service center is the only option? Any suggestion please?

Make sure the jet is clean. Clean it with a tiny stiff wire. That was missing from this unit (owner lost it). If all else fails you can replace the carburetor.

@@billyb351 Thanks for your reply. yes I cleaned the jet as well, still it doesn't start. Will do some more research and try my luck again.

Good job. Amazing. Did you release this video earlier? I want to say I hope you didn't think I was bragging about my SAIT degree when I actually WAS bragging about it haha. I enjoy your videos Bill.

Thanks Bruce. I uploaded it about a day ago or so. I had a Troy Bilt 5524 video a little while ago. I have to say installing and commissioning new networks is not easy. Though I design some of the test equipment used for that purpose, I wouldn't actually know how to turn up or configure any of the central office equipment. That's a specialty in itself that requires specialized training that you've got haha.

If people would start the machines a few times in off season it would start every time when you needed it. however with all the stupid people out there its a hard task to convince them
