i found Kyle Gallner through Nightmare On Elm Street, but what cemented his status as my favorite actor is Dinner In America. absolute legend. also when he was talking about his mental health, i could relate pretty hard because i'm autistic and i look up to kyle a lot. awesome video!!!
Kyle Gallner is an actor who I thought about recently. I am roughly the same age as he is and looking back at the 2000s he's just always been there, like a companion you enjoy meeting again from time to time, feeling comfort in that there are familiar faces taking the journey on this earth alongside with you. Good to see him here. You are having many great guests on this podcast.
Kyle was one of my favourite guest stars on Smallville. Always killed it as Bart Allen and I was happy he got to come back a few times and share some great scenes with Lex. Great actor. Hope you can get him to come on Talkville for his episodes :1
I was listening to this pod and then realized I needed to watch the rest of it. The chemistry between the three of you needed to be seen and heard. Keep it up Rosenbaum!
Kyle was fucking amazing in The Passenger 2023. He was great in Smile 2022, ANOES 2010 and Jennifer's Body 2009, he is a truly diverse and charismatic actor.
Kyle Gallner was the best Flash hands down…. He was terrific in the Outsiders and his punk romance film Dinner in America. He’s a nice guy too. Genuinely interactive with his fans. My sons love him. Can’t wait to see Smile! I know it’s going to be one for our horror movie top 10 in our house. Sosie Bacon is sweet and talented but I’m not surprised, credit goes to Kevin and Kyra! Love this episode Rosenbaum. You’re the best!🎉
I finally got to watch Smile last night, and for someone who loves horror movies, especially the classic ones from the 80's, I'm not easily amused or scared for that matter, because let's face it, there's A LOT of bad horror movies out there, but Smile blew me away, like literally. The jumpscares are phenomenal, I had to hide behind a pillow more often than not, and that's a rare thing for me. The mental health issue was so well described, the girl playing Laura was so good her anxiety and fear gave me goosebumps. But the acting in general was so over the top of ANYTHING I've ever seen in any horror movie the past 20 years omg. I ADORE Sosie Bacon now. What her character went through wow! Being the daughter of two of the most iconic actors of the 80's gives a clue of where her talent comes from, but then again, it's not inevitable. But she really lives up to the name in this movie. Thanks for getting these two talented young actors on the show Michael, it was such a treat.
The first 13 minutes grabbed me immediately. The screaming in fear felt so real it terrified me. The rest of the movie didn’t disappoint. Some people didn’t like jumpscares, but they were well done here and subverted my expectations at times. The tension was constant and that helped it a lot. It also had substance with its undertones about trauma. I screamed/shouted in fear like 5 times. The closest to that was 2013’s Evil Dead which I also loved. But this was the scariest movie I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot.
If you've never seen it, Kyle killed it on a show called The Shield. He appeared in a few episodes in the final season. On top of his performance, the show is really good too.
Can’t wait to hear what stories from Smallville Kyle shares. Maybe you and Tom can get him on Talk Ville episode in the future ^_^ Looking forward to learning more about Kyle and Sosie through your interview ^_^ Have an amazing week Michael! Happy November! Hope it’s kind to you ❤️
When I saw the movie Smile, it captured me. So sorry for the main actress of the film. Such a fragile, psychologist, helps people in their work. But I got into a terrible situation. KYLE GALLNER laughed so hard at the end before the demon appeared, it was creepy. I even dream about it sometimes. Respect for the director to come up with such
I first saw Kyle on an episode of Medium. He does such a great job playing a character that you feel for, but is a bit twisted. Sosie is such a good actor. Love her in the show about the lives of the autistic adults she's trying to help.
I feel like Kyle is such an underrated actor! he's fantastic and definitely an unsung crime/horror king in my opinion haha and I love that he isn't just limited to that but he is also just so great in everything I've seen him in.
I live in Oregon and you wouldn't think the world has changed. All of the stores have everything they always had. People are buying everything, not just food items. I haven't seen anyone stocking up on things until last night at WINCO. Two guys had 2 carts and were loading up with flats of soup and vegetables and canned pasta. On my way home, a gal was loading her truck with about 20 flats of water. It made me happy to know some people are getting ready for whatever is coming.
51:05 I met Kyle at Sardos in Burbank around this time and we hung out at his place after (during the time of drunken nights he talked about too, so before he got sober) and we talked about Jennifer's body before it came out and that was in late 2008 so the film may not have been released until 2009. The big issue during that time for Megan was the battle her BF or Husband Brian Austin Greene was going through with his ex Vanessa Marcil. Big court battle and Megan was dragged into it with accusations of drug abuse etc. I also met you, Michael! Outside of the Jekyll and Hyde club in NY during sweeps week in 2002 or 2003. I was the door host outside that you stopped to talk to about how you used to work at J&H a year before. Love your show and just found ZEN DOG that Kyle was in and watched all the Production Vlogs on how they made it. It is a MASTERCLASS on indie filmmaking.
My husband and I streamed ‘Smile’ this weekend, and it creeped me out. Awesome. I’m such a huge horror fan, and this one was well done. Sosie and Kyle have 2 new fans ☺️.
Another cracking episode, what a lovely pair of charismatic and interesting people, I really enjoyed listening to them. All these horror guests are making me curious about horror films, I just don't know how people can watch them 😆The struggle is real! Looking forward to Alex Winter too (The Lost Boys is one of my favourite films - I'm fine with horror/comedy). Thanks Rosey and Ryan, appreciate all your hard work. ❤
Love how Kyle made the “turns out you were just really bored” Wayne’s world reference and nobody caught it Michael just feigned laughter like he caught on
When she sang "that's called straight white male privilege", I died🤣😂🤣😂🤣. This girl is crazy lmao❤ . . . . "Smile" is a instant classic, in my opinion.
I like the way she has like a little crush on Kyle and would actually move in with him Michael was serious about I'm single and she changed the subject real fast she said I like this house😂😂😂
I don't think you'll see this comment, but I just want to say thank you, Michael. I love these podcasts, the actors you interviewed, and you. Most of all, I struggle with anxiety and panic attacks quite a bit, and for some reason, when you talk about it and know other people have issues, especially big celebrities, it makes me feel better. yes I still get them but it is what it is I just thought I say that you're pretty badass thank you for what you do and what I mean it makes me feel better I just mean that it's a good thing that other people relate and I hear them talk about it
This was such an enlightening and intriquing episode. Absolutely loved hearing both Kyle and Sosie's perspectives on the topics of depression, aniety, Kyle's speech issues growing up and Sosie discussing growing up with actor parents and being in that enviroment. Could relate to quite a bit of it. Also, as others have pointed out, it was neat to see the "Flash interviewed by the "Flash". Would love to have Kyle on the Talkville podcast.😀🙏
Two talented actors and Kyle is a good Flash in Smallville ❤ You shared lots of anecdotes and we could feel à great sympathy and connection between you all 🙂 Smile is my next film for sure ! Thanks Michael for another pleasant moment 💙💙🙌🙌
I've been watching your podcast for awhile now but why is it still so weird seeing you with hair??? I'm so excited to see Kyle Gallner on here. This was such a pleasant surprise.
Balto is so goated. White wolf scene will get the blood pumping. One of my favorites when I was a kid. Never knew it was Kevin Bacon until recently. "A dog cannot make this journey alone, but maybe... a wolf can" gas me up balto
Very fun and engaging interview so far. The Flash interviewing the Flash ❤️❤️. Would love to have Kyle as a guest on Talkville. Happiest Tuesday y’all 😊💙
It's so cool her dad Kevin Bacon will appear in the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special as himself lol and the trailer is great. The Footloose dance/off between Kevin Bacon and Peter Quill aka Star Lord is going to happen for sure. I can already see 1 degree of Kevin Bacon here with this episode.
Low-key,i think Kyle would be a perfect choice as Green Arrow for James Gunn's DC Universe,am i the only one that thinks he would be perfect for Green Arrow?.
I feel very similar to Kyle. In terms of OCD/ADHD/Ticks, I was also pretty short in school. 2 ticks I had where I would quint my eyes alot and the other would be I'd move my neck to the side like I would crack it, Couldnt control it. Got better as I got older though. Much more relaxed person, but I still have ADHD tendencies along with some OCD stuff. My friends say they've never seen someone play Minecraft the way I do XD
Kyle's flash is the more accurate version compared to Grant's flash because the Scarlett speedster was always meant to be a LOT faster than the man of steel
This week’s episode is awesome! Both of them definitely open up and have so many great stories. I enjoyed hearing how Kyle got his start in the business. Sosie was brilliant in Smile.
Sosie is lovely and very interesting/engaging, I've never been aware of her until now. Kyle is great and I loved him as Bart/Flash on Smallville, he'd be a good replacement for Ezra Miller in the movies? ;-) And Michael, it never dawned on me before but it struck me hard today looking at you and the Indiana Jones statue next to you that you'd be awesome as Indiana Jones if they decided to do some big budget remakes. I think you'd look great in the costume and you have the acting chops to be believably serious, intense, romantic, and humorous, all the things you'd need for Indy! 😎👍
He was great as Bart, but my god was he good on Veronica Mars as Cassidy Casablancas.. and he just followed that with the most intense episode of Cold Case.. seeing this dude on screen, he´s phenomenal!
You're right Michael, most Horror movies suck.I saw SMILE.I didn't think it sucked. There just wasn't anything special about it to me.The pacing was really slow too.I was bored throughout most of it.
I loved Smile until the end. I found the end to be so damn cruel and I like horror that gives a release at the end if all that tension and amazing atmosphere. These two were such a delight together.
i found Kyle Gallner through Nightmare On Elm Street, but what cemented his status as my favorite actor is Dinner In America. absolute legend. also when he was talking about his mental health, i could relate pretty hard because i'm autistic and i look up to kyle a lot. awesome video!!!

Loved Kyle on Outsiders. ❤
Yeah me too

He outdid himself even more in the Smile 2 intro, holy crap that was such a strong opening.

I could listen to her all day long , beautiful voice and personality ….
Kyle is my favorite actor because of Smallville. I have absolutely loved finding him in things over the years.
Look up his thriller short entitled "Trunk". You can find it in two parts here on RUclips. It's excellent.
Check out his short lived outsiders tvv series
Cancelled too soon he's the best character in the show
@@christopherlee8989 agree I had a dig named Hasil!

She's really good in Smile.
Another great episode with two people who clearly like each other and have a fun & genuine chemistry.

Smile and Barbarian, beautiful horror movies from 2022. Pretty original plots, great acting, awesome scares
I feel like Kyle is such an underrated actor! he's fantastic and definitely an unsung crime/horror king in my opinion haha and I love that he isn't just limited to that but he is also just so great in everything I've seen him in.

Think I first saw him on Smallville, but remember him most as Beaver on Veronica Mars. He was great in that!
Hard to be more memorable than what they decided to do with Cassidy Casablancas as a character
Awesome episode. Smile was great too. Been a fan of Kyles movies for sometime, looking forward to seeing what he does next.
Stir of Echoes was so interesting. A murder mystery, psych, ghost story.reminded me of unbreakable for how it was shot.
That movie is so underrated
I completely agree.
Highly recommend smile! A great horror flick.

When Lex tells Bart that he wishes he had a ponytail I started crying. One of my favorite scenes of all time on Smallville
My Gowd! Lex reunion with Bart Allen!!!⚡ (S) Awesome 💙🤘
I haven’t heard of it, I will have to go see this movie. I love horror too but agree nothing recently has been scary.
I am working the San Fransisco Expo. I am new to the convention thing and thought this would be a great way to figure it out!
Sosie Bacon is one of my favorite actors. Came for Rosenbaum as usual but Sosie made it that much better

As soon as Sosie set the Red bull down behind her I knew it would get knocked off.
Kyle plays a good military guy too. American sniper n ghost of war. But ur right he is or has become the king of horror.
I miss you, Michael 🤭❤️

OMG Cant believe its THE FLASH! Just watched an episode of smallville a few days ago and he looks so different :o
I loved the feeling of dread throughout the film
Shane Black should write the buddy comedy where Sosie and Kyle try to solve a crime as exes.
I’d pay to see it
He was great as Bart, but my god was he good on Veronica Mars as Cassidy Casablancas.. and he just followed that with the most intense episode of Cold Case.. seeing this dude on screen, he´s phenomenal!
