it's this season-long arc revolving around her estranged ex coming back into her life. The VERY first scene the two of them are in, Laurie demonstrates their flame hasn't died and implicitly creates this promise that things will escalate from there. Then they proceed to NEVER have intimate contact even once the whole season, culminating in Mira confessing that she isn't even attracted to other women! It's like queerbait designed and purified in a lab lmao
